In the following days, aside from a girl who claimed to be Shinichi Kudo's girlfriend and had already kissed him (and perhaps more) coming to the Detective Agency to ask Shinichi for help, nothing else truly happened. During these days, Mu Tianyuan also followed Uncle Mouri to the Racetrack a few times, hoping to earn some money.

However, upon arriving at the Racetrack, Mu Tianyuan realized that he apparently couldn't get close to the Racehorses. But this didn't stump him. Using the excuse of going to the restroom, he directly found a few common crows and took them to an unnoticed corner, intending to have them relay messages for him.

What he didn't expect was that before he even asked the crows for help, he learned the winning Racehorse numbers for the day from the crows themselves. The reason was simple: these Racehorses usually discussed their placings among themselves before the race!

Their reason? They wanted to mess with humans! They were truly messing with humans. Upon learning the truth, Mu Tianyuan and Little Fox exchanged glances, their mouths twitching, and asked the crow that told him the truth, "You're saying they always do this?"

"Yeah, they say it's been a long-standing tradition."

The crow stood on the railing, looking at Mu Tianyuan as it answered. Hearing this, Mu Tianyuan suddenly looked with a hint of sympathy at the people in the stands, clutching their betting tickets and dreaming of having a discerning eye for horses and getting rich overnight.

These people were truly miserable. They probably wouldn't believe it even if they were beaten to death, that they had been completely played for generations by these Racehorses. After receiving this inside information, Mu Tianyuan was simply unbeatable when it came to gambling. Even Uncle Mouri benefited greatly later on.

Uncle Mouri even told Ran and the others that Mu Tianyuan was a "God of Gamblers" and that following "Little Mu-ge" would lead to wealth! Whenever this happened, Mu Tianyuan would just laugh it off. Others didn't know, but he knew perfectly well: "God of Gamblers," my foot! He was just taking advantage of the "information is king" era, and watching the show while others were being played by the horses!

However, despite being a form of cheating, Mu Tianyuan's assets increased significantly in just a few days. Of course, he never placed huge bets; he understood the principle that a tall tree catches the wind. He just made sure to win a few hundred thousand each time. Anyway, he had turned this place into a free ATM. Slow and steady wins the race, after all!

One day, Mu Tianyuan, Little Fox, and Meow Knight had just returned from a convenience store. As they passed by the Mouri Detective Agency, they saw Uncle Mouri taking a letter from the mailbox. After exchanging a few pleasantries, Uncle Mouri said to Mu Tianyuan, "Oh right, a friend of mine sent me a few excellent bottles of white liquor. Want to come up and try some?"

Mu Tianyuan had nothing to do, so he considered Uncle Mouri's invitation for a moment and then readily accepted. After following him upstairs, Uncle Mouri excitedly pulled out the white liquor his friend had sent him. When Mu Tianyuan saw the brand of liquor, he was stunned: because the bottle clearly stated "Erguotou" in large characters!

And based on Mu Tianyuan's understanding of Erguotou, these bottles that had Uncle Mouri so excited were what they colloquially called "Xiao Er" (cheap Erguotou). Although it was just Xiao Er, to be honest, Mu Tianyuan really wanted some. So, after Mu Tianyuan diligently poured the Erguotou into glasses, he friendly provided a large bag of peanuts. Then, the old man and the young man happily began to drink.

After a few sips, Uncle Mouri suddenly remembered that he had also received a letter. So, while chatting with Mu Tianyuan, Uncle Mouri opened the letter. Just as Uncle Mouri finished reading the letter, the Agency's phone rang. Uncle Mouri had no choice but to rush to his desk and answer it. After listening for a couple of sentences, Uncle Mouri frowned and said, "Wait a minute, who exactly are you?"

After a moment of silence, Uncle Mouri suddenly leaped onto the table with a whoosh, then jabbed at the phone while yelling, "Hey! Wait! Listen to me! Hello! Hello!"

Little Fox, who was eating peanuts, turned to look at Uncle Mouri, who was sprawled on the office desk, then continued eating peanuts and said, "This perverted old man has agile moves. But does he need such a grand gesture just to answer a phone call?"

Mu Tianyuan shrugged at Little Fox while placing a sausage in front of Meow Knight. Then, looking at Uncle Mouri, who was still wrestling with the phone, he said, "Uncle, what's wro—"

"No, nothing, it's just that a strange person gave me a strange commission."

Uncle Mouri jumped down from the office desk, frowning with annoyance as he replied.

"Oh yeah?"

Uncle Mouri nodded, then came to the sofa and handed the commission letter to Mu Tianyuan. Mu Tianyuan took the letter, and before he even read the content, he was intrigued by it. All the characters on the letter seemed to be cut out from somewhere and then pasted on. It looked a bit odd. Mu Tianyuan then looked at the content of the letter and read aloud, "Next full moon night, Moonlight Island... again... shadow... vanish... investigate... Asa... Keiji 2."

After reading, Mu Tianyuan looked at Uncle Mouri seriously and asked, "What does that mean?"

"I forgot you can't read Japanese..."

Uncle Mouri tilted his body when he heard what Mu Tianyuan read. Finally, hearing Mu Tianyuan's question, he said helplessly. Mu Tianyuan immediately became unhappy upon hearing this. He looked at Uncle Mouri and said, "Hey, Uncle, what do you mean I can't read? I just don't recognize these Hiragana and Katakana radicals, alright! Look, I even read out the Chinese characters on it, alright!"

Then Mu Tianyuan mumbled gloomily, "I just don't get it. Wouldn't it be better to just write in Chinese? Why act so scholarly!"

Uncle Mouri looked at Mu Tianyuan helplessly and said, "It says: 'On the night of the next full moon, shadows will begin to disappear again on Moonlight Island. Please investigate the cause. Keiji Aso 2.'"

"Oh, I see."

Mu Tianyuan handed the letter back to Uncle Mouri, nodding. Then he picked up his cup, took a sip, and said, "Aside from looking mysterious and having pasted-on characters, there doesn't seem to be anything strange about this, right? Of course, if you think it's inexplicable, you can just pretend you didn't receive it."

"But that person... 'Keiji Aso 2' just called and said the commission fee of 500,000 yen has already been wired to me. He told me I must go!"

Uncle Mouri slammed the table, annoyed. What the hell is this? I haven't even accepted the commission, and the money's already in my account? Isn't this forcing me to go? "Heh, this person really... knows you well."

Mu Tianyuan said, refilling Uncle Mouri's drink, "Uncle Mouri, besides his hobbies of smoking, drinking, watching beautiful women, betting on horses, playing pachinko, and so on... his moral compass is actually very upright. At the very least, he wouldn't take money and not do the job. Now that the commission fee has been paid, Uncle Mouri has no choice but to go, however unwilling he may be."

Uncle Mouri merely grunted unhappily. Mu Tianyuan then asked, somewhat curiously, "Speaking of which, when exactly is this full moon night?"

Ever since he realized that calendars were useless, Mu Tianyuan had given up on keeping track of dates. You tell me when school is, you tell me when holidays are. Anyway, I'll just muddle through each day.

"Two days from now... will be the full moon night."

Uncle Mouri took a small sip from his cup, then said gloomily, "I was planning to go flower viewing, but now I have to go to some remote island. I'm so unwilling!"

"...There's nothing for it. Since the money's already paid, just treat it as a trip. Maybe that island has some nice scenery too."

Mu Tianyuan waved his hand, smiling indifferently. After speaking, Mu Tianyuan picked up his cup and took a sip. But just as the liquor reached his mouth, before he could swallow, Mu Tianyuan suddenly remembered something. Coughing, he snatched the letter Uncle Mouri had thrown on the table and looked at it in surprise. Uncle Mouri, seeing Mu Tianyuan's action, asked puzzled, "Little Mu, what's wrong with you?"

"No, nothing."

Mu Tianyuan coughed and shook his head. Little Fox also noticed Mu Tianyuan's strange reaction and asked curiously, "Hey, are you alright?"

"Something is wrong!"

Mu Tianyuan never hid anything from Little Fox. He immediately said to Little Fox via telepathy, "I remember what this is about! I was wondering why Moonlight Island and Aso Keiji felt familiar!"

"Oh, what's the situation that made you remember it?"

Little Fox dropped her peanuts and looked at Mu Tianyuan curiously, asking. Earlier, Mu Tianyuan had told her that there were too many cases in Conan, so besides the more interesting or important ones, he didn't remember much. Now, for Mu Tianyuan to remember this one, Little Fox thought the case must be quite interesting.

"It's about... a cross-dressing guy who, for the sake of his parents and possibly his sister, killed a bunch of drug dealers and then immolated himself. In short, he's a complete tragedy."

Mu Tianyuan answered while staring at the letter he couldn't understand. Little Fox, hearing Mu Tianyuan's words, said, "From your expression, I know you're definitely thinking something right now. So, what are you planning to do?"

"I'm going to help him."

Mu Tianyuan slowly placed the letter back on the table and said to Little Fox, "Although I can't remember some of the plot details, as far as I know, the motives of many criminals in cases are often quite sympathetic. I'm not a saint, but if I can, I still want to help them."
