Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Gaileo vs. Genbu! Break the Mountains!

While their comrades had been engaging in their own individual battles, Gaileo and Genbu had been sitting quietly as they waited for the other battles to finish up.

"Looks like the others are finished. Are you ready to start?" Gaileo asked as he was rubbing dirt on his hands.

"I've been ready to go this whole time. You're the one who suggested we wait until everyone else was finished." Genbu replied.

"Oh don't say that, isn't it better to save the best for last?" Gaileo said as he removed his massive battle axe from the frozen ground he had plunged it into, making sure to get in a few practice swings before the match started.

"I guess you're right. I definitely don't mind being the main event." Genbu replied. "So you use a battle axe huh? I prefer a sword myself. This is my sword, Yamakiri, the mountain cutter. Does your weapon have a name?"

"Eh, not really. I use a lot of different weapons, I do feel like this one does suit me especially well though. Maybe I should give it a name.Eh, that can wait until later I suppose"

"They do say that men of the North do prefer large two handed weapons, so that's not much of a surprise."

The two men immediately launched a barrage of hundreds of strikes with their respective weapons. All of which were parried by their opponent. Each strike gave off a shockwave as their weapons clashed.

"I'm impressed that you can keep up with speed of my strikes with that heavy weapon." Genbu said as the two disengaged and backed off.

"And I'm impressed that your weapon can withstand the power of my strikes." Gaileo responded.

The two continued their furious exchange for quite some time though neither was able get the upper hand. The fight eventually turned into a stalemate as the two backed off again.

"You're pretty good, but why don't we start getting serious?" Gaileo said as he planted his axe into the frozen ground.

"Are you suggesting that you haven't been serious in this fight so far? Because I certainly have been." Genbu replied.

"Of course I have, you know that's not what I mean." Galileo answered as he cracked his knuckles. "I'm just saying that we should move on to our specialties don't you think?"

"Oh, so that's what you mean. I think I can get behind that." Genbu answered as he sheathed his sword.

Both men got into a fighting stance and stood absolutely still for some time. They were both gauging the distance and anticipating each other's moves. It was an intense face off between the two, and the tension was building until both men launched an attack at the same time.

"Dragon's Iron Rending Claw!!!!" Genbu shouted as he swung his arm down.

"Storm Killer!!!!" Gaileo shouted as he met Genbu's fist with his own.

The ferocious clash of fists created a massive shockwave as the ground beneath their feet cracked and shattered. After the clash the two men backed off again. Gaileo's gauntlet had been ripped off and his arm was bleeding.

"Hehe, it looks like my Dragon claw cut you pretty nicely." Genbu said sounding a bit pleased with himself.

"Hmm, maybe, but it looks like that Dragon's claw won't be cutting anything else for a while." Gaileo said as he pointed to Genbu's hand which now had three broken fingers on it.

"Hmph, not bad. Don't think that's enough to stop me though." Genbu says as he straightened his broken fingers.

"Explosive Dragon Bullet!!!!"

"Flowing Water Whip!!!!!"

Genbu had thrown another punch that was covered in aura. It was about to make contact with Gaileo's block but his fist shifted and swung around and struck Genbu on the chin and momentarily dropped him down to one knee.

The two continued to exchange powerful attacks back and forth for sometime as their battle raged and changed the landscape of their battlefield. The fight was mostly a stalemate, but Gaileo had slowly been gaining the upper hand in the exchanges.
