Chapter 205 - Crucial Interception

"Damn it, aren't the Marines here yet?!"

Within an almost imperceptible, invisible spherical barrier, Lavishur's expression was anxious. While manipulating the air within his range to form sharp wind blades and violent storms to fend off the continuous attacks from the two monsters before him, he gazed towards the city outskirts, desperate to find signs of the Marines.

Unfortunately, although Doma City was built around Mount Gangoma, and their current position was in the middle of the sacred mountain, the city was filled with buildings, many of them over ten meters tall, completely obstructing his view.

Honestly, as Roberts's senior, a great pirate who had roamed the seas for half his life with a former bounty of 450,000,000 Berries, it was a huge irony that he was now forced to rely on the Marines for rescue against two juniors.

In the past, whenever he encountered danger or an unbeatable foe, he could simply use his abilities to conjure fierce winds and easily escape. But now, he was a Prince of a nation, bearing the responsibility of defending his country. He was no longer the reckless, solitary pirate he once was. What's more, he now had a comrade, and he couldn't abandon an injured friend to escape alone.

Hebrass, as if seeing through Lavishur's thoughts, directly advised, "If it's impossible, you should go first!"

"Shut up! You're merely a subject of my Doma Royal Family; it's not your place to tell me what to do!" Lavishur's face darkened a few shades as he snapped impolitely.

"Hehe~ Don't worry, I'll definitely die before you!" Hebrass wasn't angry. Instead, a smile appeared on his pale face.

They were old partners, naturally working in perfect sync. Now, Hebrass had been struck by Roberts's spear and was suffering from the curse-poison of Gae Bulg, significantly weakening his combat ability. Thus, their joint defense had shifted, with Lavishur taking the primary role and Hebrass assisting from the side.

Therefore, even though both Roberts and Regedor were powerful monsters, they couldn't quickly defeat the two of them.

"Stop acting so arrogant, you bastard!"

Regedor's face darkened. He couldn't help but roar, the silver vambrace on his wrist spinning at high speed, allowing him to launch a spiral vortex of air like a shockwave with a raised hand. This transparent white spiral vortex spun rapidly, like a drill, instantly traversing the entire street and striking a tall stone wall.

Rumble—!

The ground vibrated violently. A large hole, several meters in diameter, was drilled straight through the tall stone wall, and fierce gales swept outwards, kicking up choking dust.

"Don't get hit, you'll die!"

Lavishur pulled Hebrass to quickly dodge, not forgetting to remind him.

"My eyes aren't blind, and..."

Before Hebrass could finish his sentence, pain contorted his face. He instantly clutched the wound on his shoulder and knelt on the ground.

"The curse-poison... it's spreading!"

"Damn it!"

Lavishur's expression drastically changed.

"I'm sorry, I can't cure the power of this curse-poison either. You can only die here!" Roberts shook his head, his tone filled with regret.

The Gae Bulg in his hand was a legendary spear, not only sturdy and sharp but also containing a mysterious power known as "curse-poison." It was like a poison, yet also like a curse, almost incurable! As long as it inflicted a wound, the victim would be corroded by the curse-poison, and soon after, it would spread throughout the body, rapidly leading to death.

Anyway, since Roberts obtained Gae Bulg, he had never seen anyone survive after being wounded by its spear blade; at most, they only lasted for varying lengths of time. Most importantly, if the wound was on a limb, it could be amputated to stop the curse-poison's erosion. But Hebrass's wound was on his shoulder, even close to his neck, making amputation impossible.

Naturally, Roberts wouldn't miss such a good opportunity. He immediately stepped forward, holding Gae Bulg and unleashing a "Central Thrust" aimed directly at Hebrass.

"Army Breaker!"

Rumble—Rumble—!

Powerful air blades burst forth, and amid continuous colossal roars, they swiftly pierced through an entire row of houses, even carving long, deep, terrifying fissures into the street pavement. The surrounding ground vibrated violently, and surging airwaves spread outwards, sweeping in all directions, kicking up immense amounts of dust.

"Put me down, two people can't escape!"

"Shut up, I didn't say I was going to escape!"

"You can skirmish alone; bringing me will only make us lose faster!"

"Do you think I want to bring you? It's just that the Royal Army still needs your command ability!"

"Stop with the damn nonsense!"

"..."

Lavishur dragged Hebrass, fleeing swiftly, surrounded by fierce winds that made his steps and speed incredibly agile.

At this moment, Regedor intercepted them first, directly throwing a punch at Lavishur.

"Don't even think about escaping!"

"Not good!"

Lavishur's expression changed slightly. He quickly crossed his arms in front of his chest, then heard a muffled "thud." He was struck directly on the arm by Regedor's punch. The powerful force caused the surrounding air to tremble, and Lavishur was sent reeling back, his feet plowing two long marks in the ground.

Hebrass reacted, enduring the sharp pain in his shoulder and his overall weakness. He tightly gripped his longsword and swung it at Regedor before him.

Clang!

The longsword struck the silver bracer, sending a few sparks flying.

"Is that all the strength you have?"

Regedor's face was grim as he scoffed. At the same time, he forcefully shook off the longsword with his left hand, then stepped forward and punched Hebrass in the chest.

Hebrass's face turned ashen. He immediately dropped his longsword and clenched his fist, throwing a straightforward punch that collided with Regedor's fist.

However, the moment their fists connected, Regedor's fist vibrated, as if spinning, and let out a muffled "thud," causing the air to explode and ripple outwards in distorted waves. Simultaneously, the ground beneath their feet also cracked, rapidly spreading into a large, spiderweb-like network of fissures.

"Ugh—"

In an instant, Hebrass's face went deathly pale, his eyes filled with disbelief. His entire right arm twisted, and the bone in his shoulder was shockingly exposed.

"Haha~ My Spiral Force is pretty good, eh?!"

Seeing this, Regedor laughed twice, a satisfied and hearty smile on his face, and reached out again to grab Hebrass's head.

"Stop!"

Lavishur's eyes were bloodshot. He couldn't help but let out a sharp cry, about to rush forward to stop him. However, the next second, a grayish-white long spear thrust from the side, forcing Lavishur to dodge sideways, abandoning his attack on Regedor.

"I'm still here!"

"You bastard!"

Lavishur looked at Roberts, who was blocking him, with a mixture of shock and anger.

But just then, as Regedor was about to grab Hebrass's head, his expression suddenly changed slightly. He immediately retracted his hand and quickly retreated backward.

At once, a flash of blade light appeared between Hebrass and Regedor. With a soft "whoosh," it tore a deep, two-meter-long crack in the ground.

"Yo~ Regedor, you're still alive!"

Cross descended from the sky like a divine soldier, landing beside Hebrass. He held his black blade, Shusui, his piercing gaze meeting Regedor's, and greeted him warmly.

"It's you..."

Regedor was momentarily stunned, then recognized Cross.
