Catheris had to wake up way too early, his mentor was a deadbeat, it obviously wasn't fun getting jumped on the job—and oh… oh that damned partner of his…! 

Catheris never asked for any of this–in fact he didn't want the job in the first place; he already worked as a tailor. But an unexpected roommate forced him into this. He knew that moving to a new place would bring along some uncertainties and surprises, but having a demon was NOT what he had in mind.

The demon would never show itself, yet fuck up his kitchen for whatever petty reason. But Catheris didn't care about that. Why would he? He found it a tad bit amusing–until its behavior drastically changed. He found himself having episodes. Catheris would claw at his neck, unable to breathe. He would wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, his chest tight. Then, Catheris would notice the wetness on his cheeks–he was crying searing hot ink again. 

The most jarring thing was how the demon appeared in his liminal dreams.

He wasn't the paranoid type, but he also wasn't stupid–everything was real.

That’s when he unfortunately met Detective Mr. Beo, who offered him a deal–suffer, or let the government study him. Unfortunately, said detective became his partner. But… the other coworkers weren't so bad.

In conclusion, Catheris was fucked—literally and metaphorically.
