'Am I going to die?'
Time seemed to have slowed down, the blade of Sorrowful's rapier was just centimetres away from cutting Hunter's neck.
'Here?…Like this?'
Sorrowful's eyes were cold, full of malice, betraying no emotion.
'No, I can't… If I die, they'll go after Eva. They'll kill her.'
Why this thought came to his mind, Hunter didn't know. But his will to live suddenly rose, suppressing every other desire in his heart.
He felt something deep inside him, something dark—a strange power suddenly surged out with him at it's epicenter.
Sorrowful's blade was thrown away, causing him to take a few steps back.
Balancing himself, he looked at Hunter with a frown.
"What?"
Hunter felt strange, he felt like something was suging inside of him, he felt strangely powerful.
'This…'
It was a strange power but he didn't care as long as he could kill Sorrowful and save…Eva.
He smiled and took a step towards Sorrowful, making him turn slightly cautious.
As he took another step. Suddenly—his body trembled and blood flowed down his nose.
Sorrowful stared at him for a moment and suddenly burst into a laugh.
"That's it?…Really? Ah…You disappoint me."
But then, all emotions drained from his face as shot forward and brought down his blade with shocking speed, barely giving Hunter any time to react.
"Sorrowful, Stop!"
He froze, lowering his blade, he looked to the side, where Eva was standing.
Tears fell from her eyes as she said.
"Please…don't do it."
Sorrowful stared at her for a moment, moved his gaze to Hunter beside him.
Then suddenly, a dark smile split his face.
"Just…great"
He pulled Hunter by the collar and spoke with a crooked smile.
"Hey, wanna see her die?"
