Chapter 4 - Lonely Influence - Chapter 4: Conflict and Preparation

A week after that.

Trizha is on her knees, crying like a baby begging for mother's milk, whilst Wyne is standing in front of her with an expression of annoyance and frustration, and Margaret is just sitting in a seat in front of Trizha and Wyne, eating noodles inside the classroom.

Trizha: *sobs* "Waaahh…! My grandma didn't give me any allowance this week!"

Trizha says as she sobs like a crybaby.

Wyne: "Are you seriously going to overreact over a lack of money? I'm starting to dislike you now, blonde idiot."

Wyne says with crossed arms, looking down on Trizha.

Trizha: "It's nothing like that…"

Trizha then started to move her arms, trying to make a more understandable explanation.

Trizha: "She just caught me being depressed and angry the other day after coming home. So she thought that maybe I shouldn't take her allowance for this week just so that I could 'recover' my insanity without…distractions, maybe? I mean, money has nothing to do with mental health…"

Wyne then places a hand to her chin, getting slightly thoughtful of Trizha's explanation.

Wyne: "Well… logically speaking, money DOES have nothing to do with mental health. But… maybe because your grandma is an idiot, and that you inherited her-"

Suddenly, Trizha cuts Wyne off, stopping her from continuing to speak.

Trizha: "Nope! no way. My grandma is an annoying, proclaimed wise woman from the 80s. Pretty sure that what she said had a deeper meaning to it…"

And so, both Wyne and Trizha started to agree with each other, as they began to place a hand to their chin and started thinking of any accurate deep meanings about what Trizha's grandma had told her.

Wyne: "Hmmmm, it's definitely because she doesn't want you to be rich!"

Trizha: "Wronggg!! It's definitely because she's out of money."

Wyne: "No, no, no. What if… She was just hiding your good fortune for Christmas?!"

Trizha: "Eh, my grandmother hates Christmas money gifts because her mom used to take it all from her just so that she can 'keep' her money."

Wyne: "Huh, that's relatable…"

Trizha: "Wait, that happened to you too?"

Wyne: "What, didn't you? What a trash childhood you have."

As the two kept arguing whether what possibility is better and more accurate, Margaret finishes eating her noodles and suddenly started to speak in a monotone, intentioning to end the prolonged argument without needing to use disturbing thoughts;

Margaret: "Trizha's Grandmother intended to keep Trizha's allowance for a while so that Trizha can focus on herself for recovery without any distractions."

Trizha and Wyne get surprised by Margaret's own explanations, listening to her as she continues to speak with a shrug.

Margaret: "It just simply means that your grandma is giving you the opportunity, or rather, telling you to focus on yourself and not rely on certain objects or anyone to help you out when it comes to personal crisis, which can lead to self-discovery. In short, you can't fix yourself if you don't accept your own mistakes and have others take the burden instead."

Margaret then turns to Trizha, giving her a smile.

Margaret: "It's just her way of telling you to not live a pathetic life, Trizha."

Hearing all that, both Wyne and Trizha just stared at Margaret for a second, before they started to clap their hands in admiration and respect to Margaret's complete explanation. The two find Margaret's explanation as the most accurate, if not the best. Meanwhile, Trizha, deep inside, doesn't even care if that's either his grandmother's real intention or not, she's just too focused on Margaret's wise words.

Wyne: "Now that's what you call a philosopher."

Trizha: "Yeah… wait, hold on!"

Trizha then gets a sudden idea, instantly taking out her phone then rushing over to Margaret to make a video of her philosophy.

Trizha: "Margaret, repeat what you just said! We will surely make thousands of people feel inspired by your philosophy!"

Trizha says excitedly, her eyes sparkling in both amusement and desire, demanding Margaret's words as she shyly looks away.

Margaret: "Uhm… those are just my thoughts, Trizha… not mine."

Trizha: "Come on now!"

Margaret: "I-i… uhm, my mouth is shut by stapler pins!"

Margaret suddenly says as she tries to cover her face with her hands shyly, as Trizha jumps in surprise and fear, terrified of what Margaret just said.

Trizha: "Eek! Creepy!… But seriously, Margaret, if I post a video with what you just said… we'll be interviewed lots-"

Suddenly, Wyne softly strikes Trizha with a hand chop from the back of her head, cutting her off.

Wyne: "You mean, Margaret IS going to be interviewed. Just because you captured it doesn't mean it's yours. Stop stealing the spotlight, girl."

Trizha groaned in annoyance as she cheerfully raised both hands in the air.

Trizha: "But this is a huge opportunity-"

All of the sudden, for the third sudden time, the main classroom door bursts open with T. Marcela in it, carrying a small brown box in her left hand, staring at the trio with intimidating eyes while the rest of students inside The classroom instantly return to their composure.

T. Marcela: "You three, again?!"

Trizha and Wyne stared at T. Marcela in both shock and fear, whilst Margaret instantly hid the empty cup of noodles into her bag and went back to her original seat, acting as if she wasn't meant to be involved just to escape. But not until T. Marcela immediately pointed a finger at Margaret aggressively.

T. Marcela: "You stay where you are, Noodle Sadako!"

Hearing her shout made Margaret stop in her tracks and look at her in shock, thinking "How did she know?!" after hearing T. Marcela guessed she was eating noodles earlier.

Wyne: "Wait, hold on, hold on. Why are we being punished when we're already in the classroom? It's not like we're still late like last time-"

T. Marcela: "The three of you haven't sat down to your original seats when you are required to do so before 7:30 in the morning for strict class schedules. Now go, let's go, let's go, let's go!"

The trio went back to their seats as said by T. Marcela, as she moved to the front and placed down the small brown box at the center of her teacher's desk, before turning to all of her students, facing them with confidence and seriousness, once again using her public speaking as a teacher.

T. Marcela: "Now listen up! Before class starts, I would like to make an announcement regarding the upcoming School Vacation event next Tuesday."

All of the students cheer in surprise and excitement at the update of the upcoming School Vacation event, eagerly listening to T. Marcela as she quiets them down for a second.

T. Marcela: "Supposedly, the event should've last within a month, but we'll be changing that to a one week duration instead due to upcoming monthly exams by next month; we wouldn't want our students to feel pressured during the event, so have fun while it lasts, for a week, that is."

Everyone in the classroom claps their hands, respecting and admiring the school's decision to make the event last a week. T. Marcela then proceeds to turn to the small brown box, slowly opening it.

T. Marcela: "And… speaking of the event, we'll be handing out miniature papers that represent your room section numbers. Each number is specific, personal, and very important, so make sure not to lose it on the way or else you're not going to be able to participate in the event, as well as having your own personal room… with a random roommate."

T. Marcela then walks to the left first row of the classroom and hands it over to a student at the very edge of the first row, signaling them to take a random miniature paper before passing it to the person next to them.

Many are excited, some are nervous because they'll have a roommate during the event or something else entirely, and some… just nonchalantly take a miniature paper without a care, not even worrying about possible consequences during the event.

But while the students are taking out their own miniature papers, T. Marcela makes one last announcement;

T. Marcela: "Oh and by the way, for those who don't know what the School Vacation event is all about, it's simply living in luxury for a limited time. In other words, you'll all be living inside the world wide famous La Luna Sangre Hotel for a week. It's a supermassive, entertainment hotel that contains… who knows how many hotel rooms."

T. Marcela then goes back to the front, before picking up a chalk from her teacher's Desk and started drawing an imitation of the La Luna Sangre Hotel from the inside;

T. Marcela: "As I said before, the hotel itself is supermassive, so I'll just describe the most iconic facilities it contains; firstly is the arcade, which is definitely a place made for idiots and obviously kids… then we got the clothing store and markets, although the perfume store is still in construction… the aquarium… and then the uhh…"

While T. Marcela explains each facility of the La Luna Sangre Hotel, Trizha stared at the writing board with seemingly aloof and uninterested expression, before she turns to Nomoro, who is also focused on the writing board. In her mind, she wonders what he is thinking; Is he thinking about her? Does he hate her? Is he planning to return the favor as well? Either way, there's no telling what he is thinking. But all she can think of… is the guilt she planted to herself. A guilt that she deserved to receive after such a reckless decision just for the sake of attention.

But what she didn't know is that Wyne, who is next to her, has been trying to call out to her through whispering.

Wyne: "Trizha… TRIZHA!"

Trizha gets startled by Wyne silently calling out to her, jumpscared.

Trizha: "What!? I'm trying to focus here!"

Wyne: "Forget focusing, let's make a deal! If you're interested, lean in and hear me out…"

Trizha: "Okay…?"

Trizha then leans in to Wyne, as Wyne whispers to Trizha;

Wyne: "This is more based on luck, but, if we get to become roommates then we get to eat the Miso Ramen I bought in a Japanese shop the other day. But if me and Margaret become roommates, then we get to eat my Miso Ramen without you, and vice versa!"

Trizha listens to Wyne explaining the deal, before nodding in agreement and leaning away to focus on the board again without making any reactions…

Trizha: "... I see."

Wyne notices Trizha's current behavior, as she has never experienced or seen this version of Trizha; She would usually cheer and squirm in excitement whenever something fun is included, often involving recording that fun in question as well, no matter the mood. And seeing this new behavior of hers made Wyne feel a little off about her.

Wyne: "Hey… what's wrong? Still depressed?"

Trizha: "Oh, me? N-no, I think I'm fine. I'm just… not in the mood."

Wyne's expressions soften as she realizes what Trizha is feeling, even if being a slow learner was part of her main personality.

Wyne: "Trizha, I might be slow, but I'm not entirely dumb. And don't worry! I'll make sure that if you win the deal, I'll let you eat two more miso ramens, exclusively only for you!"

Trizha looks at Wyne with a surprised expression, as her mouth forms a grateful smile on her face.

Trizha: "Thank you… Wyne. I really needed that kind support…"

Wyne: "Hehe! You got me!"

Trizha and Wyne laugh with each other but quietly, as T. Marcela finally finishes her explanation about the La Luna Sangre Hotel, turning to the students.

T. Marcela: "And… that's about it. Does anyone have any questions?"

T. Marcela then looks around the classroom, searching for anyone that raised their hands. And soon enough, there was one, from a random student.

Random Student: "I have. I just wanna ask…"

They then point their finger at the drawing of a tall building next to the La Luna Sangre Hotel drawn by T. Marcela.

Random Student: "What's that building about?"

T. Marcela: "Oh that? That's the Prom building. On the last day of the week, we'll be having a Prom party as the final and major event. And yes… your partner IS your roommate, can be both fortunate and unfortunately."

A lot of the students gasp in surprise and shock at the mention of the Prom party. To them, they see the Prom party event as a lifetime opportunity event, as it is a major highlight of school experience. Everyone in the classroom is either even more excited, or nervous or a mix of anticipation.

"Three… two… one… and… Shoot!"

Trizha, Wyne, and Margaret say in unison before slamming their miniature papers on top of the cafeteria table, revealing their room sections; Trizha got 187, while both Wyne and Margaret got 108 as their room section numbers. The Trio, by the way, are in the cafeteria along with other students minding their own business.

Trizha: "Hold on, WHAT?!"

Wyne: "Whoa… me and Margaret got the same room sections!!"

Wyne says before happily and cheerfully hugging Margaret and jumping with her, as Margaret just lets out a few chuckles, a bit shy. Meanwhile, Trizha frustratedly pointed out a finger at Wyne aggressively.

Trizha: "Hey you! I thought we made a promise earlier!"

Wyne lets go of Margaret and turns to Trizha, before putting on a smug, teasing smile on her face as she shrugs.

Wyne: "Eh. I thought I told you that this was based on luck…"

Trizha then suddenly grabbed both of Wyne's shoulders and started pushing and pulling her continuously back and forth, screaming at her face;

Trizha: "How dare you?! Miso Ramen was my favorite! I even prepared some recording stands and cameras so that we can eat together while recording ourselves!"

Wyne: "...So that you can post it on Facebook or Tiktok…?"

Trizha: "No! So that I can use it to flex on our other friends that we got an iconic foreign food from Japan!"

As the two of them argue again, as usual, Margaret raises a finger and tries to stop the argument with another disturbing fact, but not until she is once again stopped by Trizha.

Margaret: "Guys, did you know–"

Trizha: "Nope, shut it, you Impostor!"

Wyne: "Uhm, you mean Traitor?"

Trizha: "No, I meant what I said. You're the traitor, Wyne. And Margaret IS the imposter because she is eating my miso ramen when it was supposed to be ME who eats it!"

Wyne: "Well I mean, it's a bit complicated… and you definitely can't do anything about it."

She then wraps her arm around Margaret, looking at Trizha with a smug expression.

Wyne: "And besides, we can just go over to your room and we can enjoy together with… something else besides just eating–"

Trizha: "Yeah, like that'll happen."

Trizha interrupts as she crosses her arms and looks away in mock annoyance, as Wyne looks at her in irritation.

Wyne: "Oh wow. I wonder what happened to the emotional support I gave you earlier."

Trizha then turns to the two with a determined smile, putting both of her hands onto her hips.

Trizha: "In any case… let's go plan out our journey inside the supermassive La Luna Sangre Hotel!"

Wyne: "Oh alright… hmm… blogging would be nice… should we bring phone waterproof covers when we go to the swimming pool?"

Trizha: "Ah yes! Perfect planning–"

Margaret: "I heard that there was gonna be a 'scare room'. Let's try it once we get there."

Trizha: "Yeah, let's go there– wait no, you just want to try and scare us in there, don't you?"

Margaret: "Hehe… I mean I do look like Sadako from that horror movie in Japan. It won't hurt to try to make use of my creepy appearance."

Wyne: "Yeah good point, now for the main point…"

And so, the trio leaned in together to craft their own plans for the La Luna Sangre event. After a while, they lean away, then extend their arms to each other, placing one hand above the other, before raising it up in the air instantly, as they scream "Go Trio!", their plans having been decided.
