Marcus let out a mischievous smile. "Does it infuriate you?" He asked.
"You should know better. You know I'm not your wife and never was..."
He gasped and stared at her with a creased forehead. "Really?" He asked, and Nina nodded in agreement.
"Of course, we were just fated mates and never married. The day I would have been made official as your mate and Luna, you messed everything up because of a mere picture of me being molested."
She was about to break down in tears when Marcus began patting her shoulder in consolation.
"It's okay, Nina. I'm truly sorry for everything. I never meant to remind you about that," he said.
There were a few seconds of silence between them.
"It's okay." She sobbed and wiped her tears and composed herself.
"Promise you won't talk about the past anymore during this stay?" He held her hand as he made the request.
"Why do you want that?" Nina turned and stared at him with suspicion.
