After a moment of silence, Danitz couldn't stand the feeling of being excluded in his own dream. He opened his mouth and shifted the topic to himself:
"Captain, I've been away from the Golden Dream for too long and have missed too many lessons. I'm eager to return to the ship."
"No need to rush. The Golden Dream isn't convenient to approach the Rorsted Archipelago right now. You need to stay here to gather some information and replenish supplies for the ship."
Edwina calmly rejected Danitz's proposal.
"But Captain... this, I..."
Danitz's face stiffened, his voice filled with helplessness, almost pitiful.
Leyton's gaze calmly swept over Klein, meeting his eyes. The two communicated silently through their gazes:
"What did you do to him? This Fourth Mate of the Golden Dream practically sees you as a monster."
"I don't know, it has nothing to do with me."
Danitz still wanted to say something, to try and change his Captain's mind. Before he could speak, he saw his Captain suddenly raise her right hand, press her ear, and tilt her head slightly, as if trying hard to listen to something.
A moment later, Edwina said expressionlessly:
"I can't hear any sound anymore."
"The 'Roselle Dream Divination' I'm using is nearing its limit."
As soon as her voice fell, Edwina's figure began to gradually fade.
Leyton immediately raised his hand, scattering points of brilliant starlight.
These starlight points fell upon Edwina's body, quickly stabilizing her current state.
Edwina's figure rapidly solidified. She looked at herself in disbelief, then closed her eyes to sense her current state.
A moment later, she reopened her eyes, her tone carrying a hint of inquiry:
"What a magical spell. It seems to directly strengthen the connection between me and Danitz's dream, and temporarily grants me some special characteristics of a Nightmare."
"How is this done?"
Edwina's behavior at this moment was like a good student who listened attentively in class and asked questions.
Leyton gently nodded, affirming Edwina's previous judgment, then smiled and said:
"I have mastered the corresponding knowledge and can simulate it, then add some, well, 'patches' to your 'Dream Divination'!"
Patches? Are you a programmer? Klein looked at Leyton unexpectedly. He felt he had already guessed this companion's former profession.
"Patches? A very peculiar term. This is the first time I've heard this word. Does it mean to mend imperfections or Errors?"
Edwina acted like a curious, studious scholar.
"That's one way to understand it."
Leyton gently nodded, not dwelling too much on this topic. He entered this dream to discuss something with Edwina.
After a slight pause, he carefully chose his words and said:
"Are you interested in opening a new shipping route between the Northern and Southern continents?"
"Not now, it will still take some time."
"Open a new shipping route?"
Edwina frowned slightly, pondering as she explained:
"This is not a simple project. The route Emperor Roselle opened back then also consumed a lot of manpower and time. The current Golden Dream does not have the conditions for this."
Danitz, who had been in a state of confusion nearby, finally heard a topic he could relate to and immediately interjected:
"We're treasure hunters, not cargo ships for transport or smuggling. What do we need a new shipping route for?"
Leyton glanced at Danitz, who was eager to increase his presence, and slightly raised his right hand. Amidst the spreading starlight, Danitz's dream was modified again, changing into a map of the Raging Sea.
Damn it! Can you guys respect me, the owner of this dream?! Danitz's face was distorted with anger.
Leyton casually drew a line of starlight connecting the Northern and Southern continents on the map, representing the route Roselle had once opened.
He turned to look at Edwina and said:
"If there is a Sequence 3 Saint who has mastered the domain of Storm and is very knowledgeable about the ocean, do you think it's feasible to open a new shipping route?"
"He is a new shipping route."
Klein maintained Gehrman Sparrow's persona and said coldly.
With a Saint of the Storm domain, one can basically travel unimpeded in the Raging Sea. However, even the Church of the Lord of Storms would not be so extravagant as to have a Saint constantly travel between the two continents just to escort a few cargo ships.
Edwina thought the same as Klein. She pondered and said:
"With a Saint of the Storm domain present, as long as you sail around him, it will definitely be a safe route."
"But, a Sequence 3 Saint..."
Edwina's words trailed off. She recalled Leyton's previous inquiries about the underwater city and the beliefs of the Naga.
Leyton nodded slightly, giving an affirmative reply:
"I can find him and persuade him."
"Even if I make him go back and forth in the Raging Sea every day, he won't find it boring."
"Him?" Klein questioned, maintaining Gehrman Sparrow's demeanor.
Edwina fell into brief contemplation. A moment later, she slowly nodded and said:
"If that's the case, finding a new shipping route is indeed somewhat possible."
"But the Sailors on the Golden Dream are more inclined to be treasure hunters. In the short term, exploring for treasures in the Raging Sea while transporting goods is acceptable, but it cannot be long-term."
"If this is a long-term demand, you need to form a fleet."
Still a lady who respects her profession, Klein silently evaluated in his heart.
"Boss is very rich, he can pay you and your Sailors."
Bugs Bunny, who was beside him, argued for his boss.
Paying wages? I suddenly feel so poor... Danitz and Klein mentally calculated the cost of long-term employment for an entire pirate crew, and once again lamented their own poverty.
Edwina fell into a brief contemplation. Although this was a long-term, stable source of income, the Sailors on the Golden Dream were, after all, a group of treasure hunters who moonlighted as pirates, not merchants involved in smuggling.
Seeing Edwina lost in thought, Leyton chuckled and said:
"Don't worry, this isn't a long-term transaction. It's just to temporarily avoid exposing frequent interactions with the Southern Continent, so we need to bypass that fixed route."
"You will receive corresponding pounds, as well as some clues to treasures hidden in the Raging Sea as compensation."
"If that's the case, then I have no problem."
Edwina gently nodded, agreeing to Leyton's request.
Immediately, she turned to Danitz and said:
"The Golden Dream is about to set sail for Feynapotter. You need to prepare a batch of supplies in these two days and discreetly transport them to Oravi Island."
"Okay, Captain, leave it to me!"
Danitz patted his chest, making a guarantee.
"I can help you transport the supplies to the Golden Dream. The Church of the Lord of Storms should be very active recently, and collecting large batches of supplies can easily attract their attention."
Leyton reminded him at the right time.
The Lord of Storms' divine punishment must have drawn the attention of the Church of the Lord of Storms. It's just unknown whether there will be a divine oracle to pursue the Moses Ascetic Order, after all, Leticia, who stole the 'Book of Calamity' and caused this incident, is a member of the Moses Ascetic Order.
Klein thought the same as Edwina. He instantly recalled the Church of the Lord of Storms's 'Sea King's' gaze sweeping across the entire sea. His gaze lingered on Leyton's face for a moment... He always felt that this matter was related to him... This guy sure knows how to cause trouble!
"Alright." Edwina nodded gently.
"N-no, I'm sorry to trouble you."
Danitz originally wanted to say there was no need for such trouble, as he was very skilled at avoiding the Church of the Lord of Storms's attention. Before he could speak, he heard his Captain had already nodded in agreement, so he stiffly changed his words.
Leyton nodded slightly and stepped back two paces, casually saying:
"Well then, I wish you all a pleasant evening!"
As soon as his voice fell, his figure transformed into points of starlight, scattering like fragments and disappearing into Danitz's dream.
A pleasant evening? My dream isn't the Red Theater, what's pleasant about it?! Danitz muttered to himself, then turned to look at Edwina.
Without the enhancement of Leyton's spell, Edwina's figure rapidly faded, turning into fragmented light and disappearing into the dream.
"Captain..." Danitz had only just uttered a single word when Edwina's figure completely vanished.
Klein saw Danitz's face visibly fall, completely collapsing, and a slight smile played on his lips as he chuckled softly:
"Good evening, Mr. 4200 Pounds~"
Danitz's expression instantly stiffened, gradually turning to horror, until he saw Gehrman Sparrow's figure completely disappear from his dream before he gradually recovered.
"Damn it! This guy isn't short on money, or can't resist the temptation of 4200 pounds, and wants to cash me in, right?!"
"4200 pounds~ How big of an estate can that buy?!"
Danitz looked back in astonishment, only to see Bugs Bunny staring at him intently, practically with little Stars in his eyes, like a homeless person seeing a walking money bag.
What does this fat rabbit mean?! Does it also want to exchange me for a bounty? Danitz's expression stiffened again, then he said in a serious voice:
"You can give up. They won't give a bounty to a rabbit. They'll only turn you into delicious rabbit meat!"
