Bayam, Dock District.

Even at night, ships would occasionally dock or depart from the port, and while the frequency was far less than during the day, it still made the area quite lively.

Leyton had just proposed his idea of establishing a deeper level of cooperation with them, and Ethan cautiously stated that this matter was quite important and would require contacting Mr. Pulak in a couple of days before making a decision.

Leyton was not very concerned about this; given the current situation on the Southern Continent, Mr. Pulak would not refuse a cooperation he proposed.

Coming out of Old John's Restaurant, the three walked among the constantly moving crowds, and Ethan spoke with some emotion:

"A bustling City."

"Although I dislike many countries on the Northern Continent, I have to admit that the Northern Continent is far more developed than the Southern Continent. We clearly have much more fertile land."

Leyton shook his head slightly, saying half as a statement and half with emotion:

"The Northern Continent has seven Orthodox Deities, while the Southern Continent only has groups of cultists."

"Your tone doesn't sound like that of a devout believer at all."

Ethan's eyes flickered slightly, and he spoke with a hint of teasing.

Whoosh~

The wailing wind gradually began to pick up, showing a tendency to grow stronger, and dark clouds had already layered in the sky.

Phoenix, who had been walking silently beside them, suddenly spoke in a low voice:

"This weather isn't naturally formed."

His spiritual perception is very keen, unlike a typical Sequence 5. Is it because of the ring on his hand? As he pondered, Leyton's gaze shifted downwards, glancing at the emerald-encrusted ring on Phoenix's right thumb.

A brief observation did not reveal any additional clues to Leyton. He subtly withdrew his gaze and spoke casually:

"The locals here worship a 'Sea God,' but it has recently run into some problems and is on the verge of collapse. If you stay in Bayam for a few more days, you might witness the fall of a 'Sea God.'"

"It?"

"Kalvetua?"

Phoenix seemed to know a lot about maritime matters and quickly identified the "it" in Leyton's words as the "Sea God" Kalvetua.

Boom!

A silver-white flash illuminated the sky, followed by rolling thunder.

In the sky, the originally low, heavy clouds quickly parted, revealing the faint crimson moonlight behind them.

"The Church of the Lord of Storms's 'Sea King' has made his move."

Phoenix withdrew his gaze from looking up and said calmly.

Leyton raised an eyebrow slightly and asked with a hint of curiosity in his tone:

"Mr. Phoenix, you seem to know a lot about maritime matters."

"I know a friend who is often active at sea."

Phoenix nodded gently, his tone becoming a bit more peaceful.

Ethan, walking beside him, asked with a puzzled expression:

"A friend at sea? How come I don't know?"

"You are just a Warlock."

Phoenix replied calmly.

"There are many ways to hide it from you." Leyton mentally completed the words Phoenix had left unsaid.

Immediately, he walked two steps forward, then turned around to face Phoenix and Ethan:

"Gentlemen, once you have considered my previous proposal, you can come find me at any time. I believe you should have a way to locate me."

"It's late. I wish you both pleasant dreams."

"Oh, and the weather won't be too good lately, try to go out less."

As soon as he finished speaking, Leyton's figure quickly faded and disappeared from Ethan's sight.

Phoenix and Ethan, who remained in place, exchanged glances. After a moment, Phoenix suddenly spoke:

"He is not a Constellations Master, but a Mysticologist."

"A Mysticologist? Sequence 4 of that Pathway?"

"He wouldn't have been attracted here, would he?"

Ethan's expression quickly became solemn, with a hint of worry.

Phoenix shook his head slightly:

"No, he put a seal on it, so it's just an ordinary item. It won't attract a demigod through convergence."

"Moreover, this is Bayam, with that 'Sea King' in charge. As long as a big commotion is made, it will attract his attention."

Ethan nodded slightly, then asked with some curiosity:

"How much do you know about that 'Sea King'?"

"Not much, I just heard a friend mention him occasionally. At sea, even the 'King of the Five Seas' and the 'Queen Mystic' would not be his match."

As soon as he finished speaking, he extended his left hand and placed it on Ethan's shoulder. Their figures quickly faded and disappeared into a shadow.

Dock District, inside an unmarked inn.

Leticia and her three companions sat at a long table. The atmosphere in the room was somewhat gloomy and oppressive.

After a while, a younger-looking man, whose face still showed some lingering youthfulness, spoke in a hoarse voice:

"If we announce that the 'Book of Calamity' has been stolen, would that be of any use?"

An older man spoke with a voice full of sarcasm:

"Before you even said that, you would have already been caught by those adventurers or pirates eyeing the bounty and thrown into the Cathedral of Waves."

"Uh, never mind."

The young man who had just spoken pouted, then lowered his head and remained silent.

Silence once again fell over the room. After a moment, Leticia, as the leader, spoke calmly:

"The Church of the Lord of Storms's pursuit of us is too intense. Trying to escape from here would only expose our whereabouts."

"The powerful Beyonder who took the 'Book of Calamity' might be able to use Beyonder means to get us out of Bayam, if he is a member of the Moses Ascetic Order."

"If he really is from the Moses Ascetic Order, why didn't he reveal his identity and instead directly snatch the 'Book of Calamity'?"

The adventurer-dressed man who had been silent spoke with suppressed anger.

No one responded to his words, and the room fell into silence once again.

After a long silence, Leticia said with a hint of weariness in her voice:

"Let's go rest first. Be prepared; once the Church of the Lord of Storms finds this place, we'll be in danger."

After speaking, she got up and returned to her room. After closing the door, she leaned against the wooden door behind her, feeling somewhat deflated:

"The Church of the Lord of Storms's reaction is too strong. Did they discover the special nature of that 'Book of Calamity'?"

"Under such a large-scale screening, our whereabouts will be exposed by tomorrow at the latest."

She leaned against the door, feeling somewhat deflated, as if Punishers could burst in from outside at any moment.

In a daze, starlight suddenly filled her vision.

"Hmm?" She instinctively looked up, glancing around the room, but found nothing. Her voice suddenly became dejected:

"Did I see wrong?"

A pale yellow, crudely cut paper figure drifted down from the Spirit World. It was adorned with many strange magical symbols and emblematic markings, and at the head of the paper figure, a prominent Eyes of Mystery Prying symbol was drawn.

Leyton's voice came from the paper figure:

"The 'Book of Calamity' you took is an important item for maintaining the state of the 'Sea God' that the local residents here worship."

"Now, that 'Sea God' is on the verge of collapse, and before collapsing, it will make a final counterattack."

Leticia's face suddenly turned pale. A 'Sea God's' dying counterattack, even without the Church of the Lord of Storms, they were very likely to die in the Calamity brought by the 'Sea God's' dying counterattack.

That 'Book of Calamity' would actually cause the 'Sea God's' collapse. The Church of the Lord of Storms would definitely investigate to the end, and the Moses Ascetic Order, I lost the 'Book of Calamity'… Thinking of this, she looked up at the pale yellow paper figure floating in mid-air, her voice tinged with sorrow:

"Are you here to deal with me?"

"Deal with?"

"You won't expose any problems at all."

From the small paper figure floating in mid-air, Leyton's calm voice emanated.

As he spoke, dazzling lightning flashed through the bay windows of the room, and the rumble of thunder and the wailing of the wind could be heard outside.

The small paper figure floating in mid-air half-turned its body, propped its chin with its hand, and said with a thoughtful expression:

"That 'Sea God' can't do anything at all. Its dying counterattack is completely suppressed by the Church of the Lord of Storms's 'Sea King.'"

Then, it turned back around and suddenly floated down, close to Leticia's face. The latter was startled, her head recoiling and hitting the door with a thud.

"Leticia, what happened?"

Outside Leticia's room, her companion's inquiring voice quickly came.

"Nothing, I accidentally bumped into the door."

Leticia suppressed the emotions surging in her heart and tilted her head slightly to respond.

From the corner of her eye, she noticed the small paper figure, which had been close to her face, retreating a bit.

Leyton's voice, transmitted through the small paper figure, clearly reached Leticia's ears:

"Your Reader potion will be available in a few days. Currently, there are hardly any wild Beyonders gathering in all of Bayam, so potion ingredients can't be bought for now."

"I, I can buy the ingredients myself."

"As long as you can get us out of Bayam, no, the Rorsted Archipelago."

Leticia said with little confidence.

Leyton, controlling the small paper figure, nodded slightly:

"Alright, where do you want to go?"

"The Moses Ascetic Order? Without the 'Book of Calamity,' can you still go back?"

Leticia's face darkened further. She bit her lip, pondering where else she could go.

After a slight pause, Leyton's calm voice came from the small paper figure:

"How about listening to my suggestion."

"How about going to the Southern Continent?"
