Chapter 499 - KWM Chapter 497 Conversation

The sound of prayer and repentance continued for two rounds, and then Leyton raised his hand to create a pure and bright starlight, dissolving and erasing the figure prostrate on the ground.

Having done all this, he calmly turned around and looked at the City of Silver people behind him, saying, "I thought you would leave here directly after the 'Exile' ended."

"It seems your luck isn't bad. I wasn't certain of the exact location of the 'Exile' and could only roughly throw you into a not-so-dangerous place, nor could I ensure Amon wouldn't interfere with the 'Exile'."

Chief Demon Hunter Colin of the City of Silver nodded slightly, bowing his back slightly in a salute, saying, "Thank you for your help."

"Our luck was quite good; we didn't encounter any danger we couldn't resolve."

Leyton nodded gently, not asking for more.

Derrick, still tightly gripping his hurricane axe, also walked over, his face still showing some shyness and worry as he spoke, "Mr. Tower, have you escaped Amon?"

Leyton nodded gently, saying, "Almost. I used the residual divine power of 'Storm' and 'Night' here to deal with some of his avatars, but I can't be sure if they were all of his avatars here. If he wants to hide, it's very difficult for me to find him."

"If you are worried, you can request the attention of Mr. Fool. Amon cannot hide from Mr. Fool's gaze."

"I understand, thank you, Mr. Tower." Derrick nodded, his expression solemn and serious.

As he spoke, his gaze swept to chief Colin of the City of Silver standing nearby. Derrick felt as if he had read something from the chief's eyes. He raised his eyelids, somewhat enlightened, then looked at Leyton and continued to ask, "Mr. Tower, do you know who the Kings mentioned by the phantom praying here just now were? What was the Great Cataclysm? Also, who tempted Sasrir?"

Derrick asked all the questions in his heart in one breath, then looked at Leyton somewhat nervously, awaiting his answer.

Leyton spoke without hesitation:

"The Kings refer to the eight King of Angels who served the Ancient Sun God. As for the Great Cataclysm, you already know about it. The person who tempted Sasrir does not exist. What that past clergyman knew was not necessarily true. As for the one he couldn't name, it's one of the Six Gods from the outside world who holds the Concealment authority."

After a pause, his gaze fell on chief Colin of the City of Silver, and he chuckled, saying, "It's my turn to ask questions."

"Does your City of Silver have any records about 'Magister' or 'Demon of Arcana'?"

Colin lowered his eyes slightly, thought for a moment, then slowly shook his head, saying, "No, at least not that I know of. If you need, I can help you look up the information after I return to the City of Silver."

Leyton nodded gently, not too surprised by this. After all, the City of Silver was once a city-state that believed in the Harvest Goddess, and later belonged to the Ancient Sun God. What they had more contact with was related to giants.

After a moment of contemplation, he continued to ask, "Do you know 'God of Wishes'? It has been staying on this land."

"God of Wishes? That subsidiary god of the Demonic Wolf?"

Colin only thought for a moment before he found memories about the "God of Wishes" in his mind.

Leyton nodded gently, saying, "It is, Dark Demonic Wolf Kotar."

"Sorry, the City of Silver's knowledge of it is limited to a few records left before the Great Cataclysm. We haven't encountered anything related to this 'God of Wishes' in our exploration of the surrounding areas either."

Colin slowly shook his head. Regarding the "God of Wishes," the City of Silver's limited records only mentioned it among the subsidiary gods of the Demonic Wolf and even its name wasn't recorded.

Leyton nodded gently, sighed silently in his heart, then turned his head to look at The Sun Derrick, who was a little taller than him, saying, "You'd best pray to Mr. Fool at regular intervals, asking for his gaze. Amon will not leave so easily, whether in the City of Silver or elsewhere."

"I will be staying in the Forsaken Land of the Gods for a long time. If you have anything, you can contact me through prayer. With some special means, I can respond to prayers within a large range."

"Then, I'll be leaving first."

As his voice fell, his figure instantly became transparent, transforming into a statue composed of countless starlight. This statue instantly shattered, turning into countless dazzling starlight that scattered and flowed.

In just a moment, all the starlight in the prayer hall disappeared, leaving only a pale yellow note floating down where Leyton had just stood.

Derrick subconsciously reached out and caught the note. With the dim yellow light from the candelabras on either side of the hall, he saw the words on the note. They were written in Jotun, but somewhat different from the common Jotun in the City of Silver, though he could still understand them.

"Blessed of knowledge and Mystery. Wise one from the unknown. Eye that peeks into true. Calamity of the Rorsted Archipelago. Great Al Tines!"

After haltingly speaking out the honorific name written on the note, he handed the note to chief Colin, who was standing nearby.

"You keep it." Colin simply replied, not reaching out to take the note. He held a straight sword in each hand and stepped out of the half-collapsed church.

Throughout Afternoon Town, roars like those of wild beasts echoed one after another. Scattered lights flickered within the town, as if it had returned to a state of being inhabited.

Before Colin had even walked out of the mostly collapsed church, Monsters with unique single eyes and faces covered in dense black short fur began to rush in.

Thump, thump, thump!

Inside the church, two Monsters, also covered in beast-like black short fur, rushed out. One had the height of a normal human and two eyes, while the other was like a small giant, with only a single eye on its face.

"The corruption and madness Concealment in this town have completely revealed themselves."

Colin, standing upright with two straight swords in hand, sighed, then raised his sword to meet the tallest Monster.

Derrick also quickly formed a battle formation with his companions, attempting to block the two Monsters rushing out from inside the church.

On the Future, constantly flickering starlight illuminated the quiet and peaceful night, like a ship sailing through a sea of stars.

Everyone on the ship was in a deep sleep. Some lay in the corners of the cabin, some leaned directly in the stairwell, and others lay in their respective beds.

In the dream world, Anderson had somehow conjured a comfortable armchair and was leisurely lying on it, admiring the highly religious and sacred frescoes on the dome.

The next moment, Klein, maintaining the appearance of Gehrman Sparrow, pushed open a Door from the other side and entered.

Anderson remained leisurely lying in the armchair, not even turning his head. Once Klein approached, he suddenly spoke, "We're about to leave this damned sea area. Do you think I should pray to that unknown great existence? According to Al's prophecy, once I leave this sea area, the misfortune on me will erupt in a more imperceptible way."

Are you reminding me to throw you into the sea the first chance I get after leaving this sea area?

Klein muttered to himself, then spoke in Gehrman's usual cold voice, "Suit yourself."

Anderson twitched his lips, revealing a false smile, saying, "Heh, as expected of the 'Mad Adventurer,' so cold and ruthless. I thought after an adventure, we could be considered friends?"

Klein took a few steps forward and casually asked, "Who do you believe in? The God of Knowledge and Wisdom, or the Lord of Storms, or something else?"

Anderson's expression suddenly became a little strange:

"I originally believed in the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, and even studied in the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom's school for a considerable amount of time."

"But those pastors of the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom were truly detestable. Just because I failed some subjects in exams, they ignored my ordinary yet handsome face and looked at me like an idiot all day long."

"Pah! I just didn't want to study those boring courses. In courses like basic drawing, art appreciation, and art knowledge, which I liked, I was always at the top! Only that Edwina, who always had a long face, could compare to me in those subjects!"

"Of course, after coming to sea, more or less everyone believes in the Lord of Storms."

This guy is really classmates with Vice Admiral Iceberg. If those people on the Golden Dream knew, would they drown this guy with their spit? The Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom's style is completely different from other churches; they have a unique intelligence hierarchy. No wonder the faith in the God of Knowledge and Wisdom isn't as widespread as the other Six Gods.

Klein couldn't help but make connections in his mind, and only by relying on the facial control ability brought by the Faceless stage did he manage to keep himself from laughing.

After a brief silence, Klein deliberated his words, saying, "Since your faith is not firm to begin with, then praying to an existence outside your own faith is not a problem."

Anderson's mouth twitched. He really wanted to retort that if the people from the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom hadn't disliked his intelligence, his faith would actually have been quite firm.

After hesitating for a moment, he suddenly asked, "Al said you are a Blessed. Which Blessed are you? Does he have the authority over the domain of fate?"

"..." Klein remained silent.

Without waiting for Klein to organize his words and speak, he continued to speak to himself, "Forget it, I'll pray to that Fool once I leave this sea area. As a treasure Hunter, one always needs a bit of adventurous spirit. Anyway, I haven't heard of anyone losing control, going mad, or dying because they prayed to him."

You certainly won't encounter danger because of this, but you also won't be rid of the misfortune on you. Klein rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache, and thought about how to dissuade Anderson from praying to him.
