The humid air of the South American jungle was thick and heavy, a silent blanket over the Federation outpost. "Outpost Kilo reporting in. No new developments to report," a tired voice crackled over the radio.
"Copy that, Kilo Outpost. Be sure to check in the next hour or so. Over and out." The voice on the radio was clipped and formal, and a moment later, the line went silent.
A young Federation soldier, standing guard by the outpost's perimeter, let out a slow breath. The silence was unnerving. He was about to adjust his helmet when a sudden, dark shape detached itself from the jungle's edge. He barely had time to turn.
"What the fu—" The words died in his throat as a silent figure, a Zeon soldier slipped behind him. A flash of light reflected off a knife, and with a swift, brutal motion, the sentry's neck was cut, silencing him before he could even raise his rifle.
"Outpost secured, Lieutenant. No alarms have been triggered," the Zeon soldier whispered into his comms.
"Copy that. Excellent work, Kill Team. You have your window. It's now or never."
"Roger," the soldier replied, cutting the comms. The low, guttural hum of multiple mobile suits approaching could now be heard, a sound that grew louder with every passing second. Then, a massive, cobalt blue Gouf Custom emerged from the treeline.
"Alright, you boneheads, listen up!" The ms girl voice, a commanding snarl, was amplified through the Gouf's external speakers.
"I don't want anyone screwing up this operation! It's do or die. The sun is setting in the hour, and we move in at nightfall. Kill Team A, you're running this direction destroy the Fed's ace for us. Kill Team B, you're raiding the storage facilities! Prioritize mobile suit components and weapons. And don't you dare die out there! We're doing this without anyone getting killed. If the heat gets heavy, pull out and retreat with anything you can carry. If any of you gets killed, I'll personally come to hell to kick your sorry ass myself!"
"We get it already, Captain," a Zaku ms girl retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Yeah, sure," another chimed in. "But what about enemy mobile suits? What are we expecting?"
"Just some harmless old GMs. The base is a skeleton crew. Expect minimal resistance," she said with a dismissive wave of her hand.
"They'll never know what hit them," a third Zaku ms girl said, the mono-eye of her rigging glowing in the dim light.
As full night descended, the Zakus flew with their jump packs, their thrusters glowing like angry fireflies. They stopped just short of the outpost's main gate. One Zaku, a sniper variant, aimed its anti-ship rifle at a lone GM standing guard.
"Alright, ladies, it's your time to shine! Ground team, are you in position?" she said.
"Affirmative, Kill Team Leader," a voice responded from the ground.
"Kill Team A, you have the green light. Get this party started!" the Gouf Custom's ms girl declared.
Back at the Federation gate, a soldier's comms crackled with alarm. "Oh crap! Sound the alarm! Sound the alarm!"
Before he could finish, a high-impact sniper round struck the GM's cockpit with an explosive flash. The mobile suit fell, its immense weight crushing a squad of Fed soldiers below. The Zeon forces attacked, a storm of red and green mobile suits tearing through the outpost.
A Federation ms girl, a young woman in a custom GM, screamed as she charged a Zaku, her beam saber glinting. "Die!" she roared, raising her beam saber. The Zaku ms girl blocked the blow, then pushed her away with a powerful burst from its thrusters.
"You're good, but not good enough," the Zaku ms girl taunted, her movements fluid and precise. She landed a quick elbow strike to the GM's arm, sending the Fed reeling.
"Let's end this," the Zaku ms girl declared, igniting her other heat hawk. The GM ms girl, now recovered, pulled out her beam saber, its energy blade humming with deadly intent.
The GM lunged, slicing with its beam saber, but the Zaku dodged it, using its thrusters to pirouette out of the way. The two exchanged a flurry of blows, a blur of steel and light, neither landing a direct hit. As the GM went for a final, decisive slice, the Zaku caught her opponent's hand. The Zaku's ms girl tried to cut her enemy's head off, but the GM dodged it and used her shield to hit the gm, staggering her. Seizing the moment, the Zaku plunged her heat hawk through the GM's cockpit, cutting the mobile suit in half.
The Zeon forces continued their assault, systematically eliminating the Federation's manned mobile suits and their pilots. A Zaku pilot, reloading her weapon, was suddenly hit. Two beam shots tore through both of her arms, crippling her suit. She tried to fly away, but a sleek, upgraded GM II shot her, the beam passing directly through her cockpit, killing her instantly.
"Ma'am, advanced enemy mobile suits are in the field!" a frantic voice reported over the comms.
"Kill Team A, keep them occupied!" Vertin ordered, her voice calm despite the new threat.
"copy" she said before shooting her anti ship rifle at the gm ll destroying it and moving her weapon to target a guntank which she also destroy
More and more Federation mobile suits emerged, but they were no match for the Zeon's veteran pilots. The Zeon forces, fighting with an almost choreographed efficiency, cleaned house. A GM and a Zaku, locked in a brutal close-quarters duel, delivered simultaneous blows—the GM's beam saber passed through the Zaku's torso, just as the Zaku's heat hawk sliced through the GM's cockpit. Both mobile suits fell, silent and broken.
As the Zeon forces advanced, the Federation base lost more personnel and mobile suits until only infantry remained. The gouf custom opened a hangar door, revealing the last remnants of the base's garrison. The Federation infantry looked up, their faces pale with terror as they saw the mobile suits and their pilots with weapons aimed at them. I guess you know what happened next
The Aftermath
Later, in a captured Pegasus-class ship, Vertin stood on the bridge, the cold light of the control panels illuminating her face.
"Commander," an officer said, saluting.
"We have hit all of the Federation bases on Earth. We have destroyed multiple of their factories; they won't have the industrial capacity to fight us."
"Good. Now then, prepare for Phase 2," Vertin said, her voice filled with a chilling finality. "Onwards to Side 3! We will reclaim our homeland!"
"Yes, Commander!" the officer said before leaving the bridge.
Vertin turned to face the main viewscreen, a cruel smile playing on her lips. "What will be your reaction now, Federation 'hero'?" she said mockingly.
