Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: One Man Plays Two Emperors! Rayleigh's Attack

In the dense forest below, the members of the Roger Pirates also looked up at the sky.

"It's the Flying Pirates!"

"I knew it, besides Shiki, who else could throw an island down to smash people!"

"That guy is as obsessed with the Captain as ever!"

Originally, the pirates were just chatting calmly, even though their current opponent was Shiki.

There was nothing they could do; Roger, Rayleigh, and Jabra simply instilled that much confidence in them.

However, someone soon noticed something amiss.

"It seems like it's not just the Flying Pirates! That guy is Kaido!?"

"Kaido? Why would that guy be here?"

"Not just Kaido, Roa is here too!"

"Roa? Which Roa—wait, is it Roa the Calamity, with the two-billion-berry bounty?"

"Are you kidding me? Are they trying to revive the Rocks Pirates?"

All the Roger Pirates instantly became serious.

They had no choice but to be serious.

One Flying Pirate crew was already quite troublesome. Adding Kaido and Roa into the mix made things rather grim!

Buggy held a dagger in each hand, his hands trembling. He couldn't hear what the elders around him were saying at all.

Shanks, his peer, instantly turned serious beside him.

That Roa, he's here too?

On the treetop, Roger looked up at the ship in the sky, his blade pointed directly at Shiki. "Shiki, what more is there for us to discuss?"

"Gehahahaha! While we had many clashes when we were young, that's all in the past now!"

Shiki waved his hand grandly. "I've forgiven you, Roger!"

Roa almost couldn't hold back a laugh. 'He's forgiven him', what a line.

Did you also forget everything after dawn?

No wonder you always get stomped in crucial battles.

"Come be my right-hand man, Roger! If we unite, dominating this world is only a matter of time!"

Shiki extended his right hand towards Roger. "How about we turn this world upside down?"

At this, not just Roa, but even Rayleigh burst out laughing. "That's a familiar line, Roger. What do you say?"

The first time they met, Roger had said the exact same thing to him.

Thinking back, it was quite nostalgic.

"Exactly, consider it, Roger,"

Roa also chimed in, persuading him. They were all from the Roger family, and going back a few generations, they might even be distantly related. "Uncle Shiki put a lot of effort into preparing for this meeting. Just for my sake."

Roger glanced at Roa. The great pirate suddenly smiled, then spoke, "Since this kid says you put a lot of effort into it, then Shiki, I'll be direct. If you came to party with me, you're most welcome!"

"But, domination? I have no interest in that. I have more important things to do!"

Oh!

Roa was surprised.

Roger's actually giving him face!

It wasn't for nothing that he accepted Uncle Shiki's generous gift and came here.

"Oh?"

But while Roa felt respected, Shiki did not. Veins on the lion's forehead began to throb, and a furious aura gradually surged. "Let me confirm again, Roger, you're refusing, right?"

"If I were to be controlled by you, would I still be a free pirate?"

Roger's eyes widened, and surging black lightning shot up into the sky.

"Mph!"

Roa tilted his head back slightly. "What a potent Conqueror's Haki!"

The concentration was so high it almost choked him.

The entire ship was shaking.

Not just the ship, but Bullet and the others behind Roa were trembling, and even Shiki's three main officers looked grim.

No exaggeration, this level of Conqueror's Haki was already stronger than Uncle Shiki's!

"Then, don't blame me for using different methods! Roger!"

Shiki's eyes sharpened.

Similarly, surges of Haki lightning leaped up, and a violent aura suppressed downwards.

The clash of the two Haki shook the entire forest.

The smoke of war had begun to rise.

"Prepare for battle!"

In the dense forest below, the crew members of the Roger Pirates shouted.

"We're doomed, Captain! As long as there's life, there's hope! Can't you compromise a little bit?"

Buggy, who had finally reacted to the situation, cried out, clutching his head.

He was only seven years old! Was his life going to end here?

Just one Flying Pirate crew was terrifying enough, let alone with Kaido and Roa's assistance!

"It's no use saying anything now."

Shanks comforted his comrade while drawing the sword at his waist.

Though his strength was meager, if they had to fight, then so be it!

"Roger!!"

However, before Shiki made his move, someone else jumped off the ship faster, heading directly for Roger.

Kaido excitedly raised his club. "Descent of the Three Worlds!"

"Idiot,"

Shiki sneered. "Who do you think you are?"

Roa gave him a warning glance. Uncle Shiki, are you perhaps underestimating— "Divine Avoidance!!"

Accompanied by an enraged roar, a figure flew high into the sky, smashing down towards the distant dense forest.

Sigh.

Roa couldn't help but sigh.

Brother Kaido, Uncle Shiki looks down on you the most, and you, unfortunately, don't live up to expectations.

"Roger!!"

Laughing heartily, Roa couldn't quite tell if Shiki was excited or furious. In any case, he lunged towards Roger.

Shiki's twin swords and Roger's beloved blade clashed an instant later, and soaring Haki lightning pierced through the sky.

If the clouds in the sky hadn't been cleared earlier, they would certainly have been split apart by now.

The two top-tier monsters of the world began their confrontation at this moment.

Roa leaned over the ship's railing to look down, and his gaze met with a man with a ponytail.

Jabra waved at Roa, seemingly saying, 'Come play, young man!'

What's there to play with a cave explorer like you?

Roa turned around and looked at Shiki's three main officers. "Prepare for battle. Go, hold back Rayleigh and Jabra."

"Huh?"

Hyde, the leader of the three, was momentarily stunned. "Us?"

"Could it be me?"

Roa snapped impatiently, "If you just hold back Rayleigh and Jabra, I can directly deal with the remaining weaker members, and then the battle will just end, won't it?"

Hyde scratched his head.

Is that how it is?

It sounds very reasonable!

"Then let's go!"

He flipped over the ship's railing and headed directly towards Rayleigh.

The sniper gave Roa a deep look, already transforming into a Pteranodon and soaring into the air.

Finally, there was Deceiver Max. He sighed while cautiously looking at Roa, then finally flipped over the railing. "This is annoying. Why do I have to fight a monster like that?"

Behind him, Roa and his subordinates charged towards Jabra.

Following behind them were the other mid-level officers of the Flying Pirates.

On the ship's deck, Roa was somewhat surprised. "A Paramecia-type Illusion-Illusion Fruit? That's interesting."

It wasn't about trapping people in illusions, but directly creating illusions. Max had just created illusions of his own group.

These illusions seemed capable of mimicking auras too.

No wonder he was called the Deceiver.

Roa turned back. "Do you remember our strategy?"

"Of course!"

Dylan nodded forcefully.

Beside him were a prepared Bullet and King. Doflamingo remained on the island above, as the enemy was somewhat too formidable, and Roa feared he might die before even succeeding.

"Then, attack!"

In the dense forest below, the clashes between the officers had already begun.

Hyde faced Rayleigh.

The other two of the three officers faced Jabra.

The other officers of the Flying Pirates faced the remaining members of the Roger Pirates.

This deep, dense forest was almost instantly destroyed, transforming into the most chaotic battlefield.

"Buggy! Get back a little!"

Shanks grabbed his stiffened good brother by the collar and pulled him away, preventing him from being caught in the officers' battle.

Although they had decided to participate, there were very few opponents they could actually handle.

"Oh, it's impressive you survived God Valley."

A voice suddenly came from behind.

Shanks paused slightly, subconsciously turning his head.

Then, the next instant, he turned around without hesitation, shielding Buggy, both hands gripping his sword, pointed at the newcomer.

"Huh?"

Buggy had just recovered from his earlier fright and instinctively turned his head as well.

Then.

"Wahhh!! It's Roa the Calamity!!"

His tongue and eyes popped out again.

How could this monster, whom the Captain repeatedly mentioned, appear before him?!

Shouldn't his opponent be Uncle Rayleigh or Uncle Jabra?

Roa didn't pay attention to Buggy, just quietly watched Shanks.

Is fate at work again?

He burnt so many World Nobles to death at God Valley, and this kid wasn't among them.

"Buggy, run!"

Facing Roa, Shanks's hands, gripping his sword, trembled slightly, but his tone was firm. "Go find Uncle Rayleigh!"

"Shanks?"

Buggy stared blankly at his good brother's back.

He had always known there was something different between him and Shanks, but only at this moment did he finally understand what that difference was.

"Damn it! Don't look down on me!!"

Buggy, wiping away the snot and tears streaming down his face from fear, flipped up and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Shanks.

Facing Roa, he declared, "Lord Buggy isn't going anywhere!"

"Oh, not bad. You're scared to death, but you still forcibly mustered your courage."

Roa quite admired Buggy.

He was very weak, but his boldness displayed in the original story, when he led the Cross Guild to contend for the Great Treasure, even surpassed Mihawk and Crocodile.

"Who, who's scared!"

Buggy retorted stubbornly.

"Buggy, don't tremble!"

Shanks quickly reminded him.

The three officers following behind Roa were quite bewildered at this moment.

Especially King, who was almost losing his composure.

Although they were supposed to be faking the fight, this was too fake! Boss, why are you playing with two children?

They simply didn't understand the gravity of one man holding back two Emperors!

"What do you want to do, Roa the Calamity?"

Taking a subtle half-step forward to shield his good brother, the young Shanks's small face was taut.

He also didn't understand why a monster like Roa would come to bother the two of them.

But, he couldn't be afraid! He had to protect Buggy!

Looking at this fearless boy, Roa couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Indeed, some people are born extraordinary.

Not just physical talent, but an innate spirit.

So, should he kill this kid?

To be honest, it's very dangerous.

This kid is Roger's successor. If he were to really kill him, it would definitely— "My child has truly been well looked after by you."

A massive slash came flying towards him.

Roa abruptly shifted his body to the side, and the ground beside him was instantly cut with an unfathomably deep chasm, extending all the way to the horizon.

Roa turned his head.

Dark King Rayleigh had one hand on Shanks's straw hat and the other raised, pointing his sword at him.

Roa's lips twitched.

Uncle Shiki, you really need to reflect. What kind of useless subordinates have you found?

They can't even hold him for five minutes?

"Uncle Rayleigh!!"

Buggy almost instantly burst into tears, his voice filled with the relief of surviving a great danger.

"Well done, Buggy, Shanks,"

Rayleigh said with a smile, without turning his head, then raised a hand to push up his glasses. "Calamity, if you want to play, I'll accompany you."
