The large windows in the breakfast room opened toward the terrace. Lace curtains swayed gently as a fresh breeze, full of spring greenery, drifted in. The soft colors of spring flowers sparkled in the morning light.
"Good morning, Your Majesty. Good morning, Your Highness the Queen. Good morning, everyone," Bao Bei said politely, bowing with perfect manners.
"Welcome home, Bao Bei. There's no need to be so formal—you're already part of the family. Feel free to be yourself, like always," the king said warmly, smiling kindly at him.
A servant pulled out a chair for Bao Bei. It wasn't the old toddler-sized one he used 3 years ago, but a properly fitted chair suited to his current height.
As the queens and princesses smiled and greeted him kindly, Bao Bei's ears and nose twitched in delight. He sat down happily while looking at the table with eager eyes. Jihl took the seat beside him.
