The Gloomfang Strider, its massive, insectoid form still visibly smoking and hissing from the blonde Acranums rank student powerful fire blast, suddenly let out a guttural roar that vibrated through the very ground beneath Eryndor's still-recovering body. Its multiple yellow eyes, previously dulled by pain, now blazed with a terrifying, renewed fury, fixing on the group of magic students. It hadn't been killed, merely weakened, and it was clearly not done. With a horrifying, rapid lunge, it surged forward, its razor-sharp, chitinous claws extended, aiming directly at the cluster of crimson-robed Arcanum Academy students.
