Chapter 206 - 206: Fujitora's Trial.

A meteorite nearly two kilometers wide — two thousand meters of looming destruction — hung ominously in the sky.

In the bustling kingdom of Dressrosa, people had been going about their day as usual. But now, darkness fell as if the heavens themselves were smothered. The sheer size of the meteorite blotted out the sun, and the moment it appeared, chaos erupted through the streets.

If something like that crashed into the island, Dressrosa would be nothing more than a memory. It would be wiped off the map in an instant.

"This… this is the power of Vane…"

From the palace window, Doflamingo stared upward, his shades reflecting the shadowed mass. Even he — the self-assured King of Dressrosa — felt a chill in his spine. It was just as Vergo had warned him. Vane had once summoned a meteorite above Mariejois itself. Now he was doing it here.

"Young Master… what do we do?!"

An old, hunched retainer with a runny nose spoke in a trembling voice. No one could stay calm in the presence of such a sight — it felt like the sky itself was collapsing. Could Doflamingo's Birdcage even stop something like this? Could it shield Dressrosa from annihilation?

"Relax," Doflamingo replied, though his tone carried more calculation than comfort. "He won't destroy Dressrosa. I don't know his exact purpose, but he has no reason to attack us."

The two had been speaking amicably not long ago, and Doflamingo knew Vane wasn't the type to strike without cause — at least, not against him. Still, Doflamingo's pride whispered that even if it came to it, his awakened String-String Fruit could cut through the very land itself. If he had to, he would fight it.

Above them, the meteorite hovered just four or five hundred meters from the ground, suspended by some unseen force. No one knew when it might fall.

On one of the streets below, Future Admiral Issho — better known to some as Fujitora — tilted his head toward the sky. Though his blind eyes couldn't see the meteorite, his Observation Haki painted its form clearly in his mind.

"What kind of ability is this?" he murmured.

The power was reminiscent of his own Gravity Fruit, but not quite the same. Fujitora typically drew meteorites from space or carved them from the earth with his blade, then manipulated their weight. But this… this meteorite had appeared unnaturally, as if conjured from nothing — and it was colossal, far beyond the size he normally handled.

"A monster…" he muttered under his breath.

Vane's voice carried through the wind. "Fujitora, consider this my meeting gift to you. If you truly wish to uphold justice… then stop it."

With that, Vane leapt into the air. Behind him, a massive golden circle blazed to life — the divine vessel known as the King's Throne, Vimana. It emerged from shimmering light, and Vane descended upon it like a god returning to his seat. Golden armor flowed across his body, sealing him in a radiant shell.

Crossing one leg over the other, Vane smirked. "I wish you the best in your promotion to Admiral. I've already chosen your code name — Fujitora."

The King's Throne lifted higher, and in the same moment, Vane released his hold on the Meteorite. The monstrous rock plummeted.

In an instant, Fujitora moved. Gravity surged at his command, wrapping the meteorite in an invisible field.

"I can still stop something like this," he said calmly.

As the mass hurtled toward Dressrosa, Fujitora's will locked it in place. To the watching citizens, the sight was a miracle — the meteorite had frozen mid-descent.

"Stopped!" voices cried from the streets.

With a single motion, Fujitora drew the blade hidden in his shikomizue cane. His sword arm moved in a graceful arc — once, twice, three times, then a fourth. Four purple slashes streaked upward, cutting the meteorite into perfect quarters.

He didn't stop there. For two more minutes, his blade danced, shattering the stone into thousands of fragments until it was nothing but rubble suspended in the air.

The sight left the onlookers in awe. In just over two minutes, the looming harbinger of destruction was reduced to harmless stones.

Doflamingo and his crew could only gape from a distance.

With a final push of his power, Fujitora gathered the rubble — thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of tons of it — and guided it away from the island. Gravity obeyed his will, carrying the debris far beyond Dressrosa's shores until it rained harmlessly into the sea.

"How… did he summon something like that?" Fujitora wondered aloud.

The test had been clear. Vane had wanted to measure him — and Fujitora had passed. Yet the question lingered. The world already knew Vane possessed multiple abilities, a feat thought impossible for any Devil Fruit user. Rumors claimed that the one-fruit limit existed only because others were too afraid to test it. Vane, they whispered, had proven them wrong.

Of course, those were the words of the foolish and the reckless. Anyone else who tried would explode where they stood — assuming they could even find multiple fruits to attempt it.

Still, one truth remained: Vane was unlike anyone else.
