Chapter 2 - Chapter 01 | Simon, The South Districts One And Only

Simon wasn't always the type to visit Lumenale. He always regarded it as the "Rich people town"

But this time, things were different.

Like a thief in the night, he appeared, dropping the letter through Simon's door.

Simon awoke, as if sensing the presence. He rushed downstairs, fearing he was the next victim of the frequent robberies in the South District. But instead of seeing a robber, he saw a single letter. He grabbed it off of the ground, ripping it open to read what it could possibly say to have been delivered that late.

"Dear Simon,

The time has come, the Hollow Sovereign has chosen you. If you choose to listen or if you choose not to, you have been selected and it will find you. If you choose to come calmly, meet me at the Hollowsphere in Lumenale. The trials must be done to prove you are ready.

From, Stranger."

"What the hell?" That was the first thing Simon could think of reading the letter. "The Hollow Sovereign could never choose someone like me! I'm a lousy woodcutter from the south district. How could I be the next vessel?"

The ideas of power rushed through his head. He couldn't imagine having all that power. It was exhilarating, but then he thought of the fame. Simon never wanted fame, he believed it gave too many enemies.

He stared at the letter for more than 90 seconds before dropping it.

Simon couldn't just ignore it. He turned around and ran back up the stairs towards his room. He slipped on a white t-shirt with some joggers before rushing back downstairs.

He stopped for a second, wondering if this was really the right idea. He sighed and looked to the sky. "If I am truly the vessel, I'll bring you back first Mom." He smiled, a tear rolling down his cheek. He sighed once more and walked out the door.

Next stop, Lumenale.
