Chapter 15: Round 2 – Flames and Strategy
Green Hill City Arena – Day Two of the Tournament
The battlefield was set. A circular arena encased in reinforced glass walls stood in the heart of Green Hill's botanical district, surrounded by hundreds of spectators seated in tiered rows. The stage glowed with soft green light, stylized with nature-themed symbols carved into the floor. Floating drones buzzed overhead, broadcasting the matches live across the Shinova Region.
A sharp chime echoed through the stadium speakers.
> "Welcome back, trainers and guests! Round Two of the Green Hill City Tournament begins now! Today's format: Double Battles! Each trainer will use two Pokémon—last team standing wins!"

A pair of older teens stepped onto opposite ends of the battlefield.
Referee: "Battle: Begin!"
The first trainer sent out Graveler and Skiddo, while the second revealed Monferno and Swanna. The air shimmered with heat and electricity as attacks lit up the field—Flame Wheel, Rock Slide, Air Slash, Vine Whip—a chaotic but well-fought match.
After a rough fight and some well-timed strategy, the second trainer managed to clinch the win by using Swanna's Rain Dance to nullify Monferno's weakness, then ending it with Aqua Ring + Aerial Ace.
"Winner: Trainer Haru!"
The crowd applauded.

"Up next: Sasuke Uchiha from Tenko Town!"
Sasuke strode confidently toward his platform, adjusting the scarf around his neck. His dark eyes locked onto the battlefield with calculated calm. The crowd murmured as his name spread like wildfire—many had seen his near-flawless control in the race.
"Opponent: Jinta of Bluegrove!"
His opponent was lean, wore black goggles, and looked rough around the edges. A city kid with a cocky grin.
"This won't take long."
Sasuke didn't respond. He simply raised two Pokéballs.
"Go. Quilava. Quagsire."
Flames ignited around Quilava as it rolled onto the field, while the calm, slow-moving Quagsire flopped in next to it with a dopey smile.
Jinta released his own Pokémon: Drowzee and Pidgeot.
The field hummed with anticipation.
> 🔷 Sasuke: Quilava (Lv. 21), Quagsire (Lv. 20)
🔶 Jinta: Drowzee (Lv. 20), Pidgeot (Lv. 22)

Referee: "Battle: Start!"
"Pidgeot—Tailwind! Drowzee—Reflect!"
Wind surged behind Pidgeot as it whipped up a speed boost, while Drowzee's psychic energy shielded both teammates, reducing incoming physical damage.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed.
"Quilava—Smokescreen. Quagsire—Muddy Water."
A thick black cloud burst from Quilava's back, covering half the field and obscuring the enemy's view. From within the smoke, Quagsire unleashed a massive splash of muddy water, flooding the field and knocking Drowzee off its feet.
"Drowzee, Psychic on Quagsire!"
Drowzee's eyes glowed, lifting Quagsire into the air and slamming it down.
"Now, Pidgeot—Air Slash on Quilava!"
Pidgeot dove through the smoke, wings sharp with air pressure, but—
"Flame Charge, now!"
A blast of fire erupted as Quilava burst forward with blazing speed, dodging the Air Slash and countering with a shoulder-tackle of fire, slamming into Pidgeot mid-dive.
The attack hit hard—but Reflect had softened the blow.
"Fast… but not fast enough," Jinta said. "Pidgeot—Feather Dance!"
Feathers flew into the smoke, falling onto Quilava and reducing its physical attack. Sasuke clenched his teeth.
He shifted strategy.
"Quagsire—Yawn on Drowzee!"
Drowzee's eyes fluttered as the pulse of sleep-inducing energy hit.
"Drowzee—get one last attack in! Headbutt!"
The psychic-type rushed forward, but just as it reached Quagsire—its eyes rolled back, and it dropped into unconsciousness.
Sasuke acted instantly.
"Quilava, back it up with Aerial Ace—Quagsire, Mud Bomb!"
The precision strike from Quilava slammed into Pidgeot with surprising force, and Mud Bomb followed up—blasting it with chunks of wet earth.
"Pidgeot, Roost!"
Jinta ordered, but—
"Intercept it!" Sasuke shouted. "Flame Wheel, now!"
Quilava spun into a blazing comet, slamming Pidgeot before it could recover.
A huge boom echoed across the arena as smoke filled the sky.
Pidgeot staggered, then fell.
> "Pidgeot is unable to battle. Winner: Sasuke Uchiha!"
The crowd erupted in cheers.

Sasuke walked off the battlefield without a word, Quilava trailing behind with flame still flickering proudly. Quagsire smiled dopily but nodded.
From the stands, Naruto pumped his fist. "He's really good…"
A few girls in the audience cheered, whispering about Sasuke's "cool" battle aura.
Behind the walls, Samual scoffed. "Hmph. Not bad. But still miles below me."
Kabuto smiled to himself, arms folded. "Interesting. That one plays the long game."

But the biggest question is how are you guys enjoying this fic.
I never did Pokémon fic and one which is a mix of both Naruto and Pokémon to make a new universe is quite tough.
Even then writing battle strategy are not that great as i only played up to sun and moon. But, still hope to improve it as the story progress.
But i need your feed backs to properly write the chapters and also for motivation too.
