Rei sat on the floor with his head between his knees, clutching what remained of his sanity like it was the last cookie in a house full of sugar-mad toddlers. His heart still rang with the echo of that impossible, timeline-shattering pillow slap he'd landed on the smug Goddess. Reality had rebooted. The multiverse had stitched itself back together. And—for a merciful three seconds—there had been peace.
