Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Truth

Grimm said, "You, a one-star first-year student, can even make it into the top 16?"

Ryan said, "You will definitely die at my hands."

Looking at him so confident, made Grimm's eyesshow some fear.

The surrounding classmates were shocked, "Ryan is crazy? The Orokuri competition is held every three years, and students from 1 to 4 stars can participate, but the top 16 each year are all above 3 stars."

Overestimating yourself, getting arrogant just because so many deans are paying attention.

Mr. Green said to him,"I hope you can grin happily, while you still have breath left."

You are just a useless person who can't shift, yet you dare to challenge me.

"I'm not, but I can ruin your talent and turn you into a waste," Ryan said.

Paul was very worried, "Are you sure you can win? If you lose a life-or-death duel, you die. Even the dean's words won't help."

Ryan said, "That's even better. When I kill Green, no one will dare to stop me."

Suddenly, Ryan was tapped on the shoulder, "Boy, you've got guts, daring to challenge a 3-star."

It turned out to be Mr. Miller.

He said to Paul, "I'm taking Ryan away. You conjoined twins will be separated for a while."

Mr. Miller took him to the Orc Museum. "Have you made any progress recently? I mean with your talent."

He said, "Still can't shift."

Have you thought about the reason?

Yes.

Recently, Ryan saw in the orc academy's library that historically, there were indeed people in the same situation as him, but they couldn't shift due to their age.

He has been diligently meditating, and through practical training in the forest, he found that the dark shadow in his mind became clearer and clearer, like a bird spreading its wings—perhaps an eagle, a bat, or even a dragon.

He voiced his guess, "It looks like a dragon. I think so because last time I accidentally ate a dragon blood fruit, and my body underwent some strange changes. I felt like that was really me. But the other dragon blood fruit is in Green's hands, so I can't try again."

Mr. Miller asked, "I warned you not to eat it, because the last orc who accidentally ate a dragon blood fruit died."

Why? The book records that orcs who eat dragon blood fruit usually just lose control, not die.

Mr. Miller took a diary from the museum and showed it to him.

The diary recorded that 30 years ago, an orc accidentally ate a dragon blood fruit and exploded to death. After dissection, it was found that this orc never shifted because the crystal ball malfunctioned during the talent test. This orc was originally supposed to be a Dragon Knight.

Ryan thought of himself, "Could it be me too?"

Mr. Miller said, "The diary recorded a genius, someone like you, who saw wings in their talent in their mind, like a dragon. But strangely, the Dragon Knight's talent is to tame dragons, not to become one. When they meditate, they usually see dragon hatch lings or dragon eggs in their mind."

"But both I and that unlucky guy saw adult dragons," Ryan said.

Smart, that's the problem. He ate the Dragon Blood Fruit and died, but you didn't. Are you hiding something from me?

"No," Ryan still couldn't tell others about his ability to control his mental power.

Take the diary to the Dragon Knight Academy director, oh, the red-haired man, maybe he can give you the answer.

Ryan said, "But I have to go to the Mercenary Forest for a mission first. If I can't pay the tuition within ten days, I'll have to drop out."

"I didn't expect a genius like you to worry about money. Do you want me to lend you some?" Mr. Miller said.

No, if I can't even pay this small amount, how can I survive in this country?

Students graduating from Jin long Royal Academy can all serve as generals in the army. If he doesn't accumulate combat experience now, will he be used as a target by the enemy on the battlefield?

Good luck to you.

Ryan returned to the squad to find Paul. Paul asked, "So long, what did Mr. Miller tell you?"

Not making money anymore? Why ask that?

Bring back the Red Poison Flower, the reward is 10 gold coins. That's it.

The burly man said to him, "The Red Poison Flower is guarded by the scorpion tail snake. This Red Poison Flower can cure all diseases. No matter what injury you have, as long as you eat one Red Poison Flower, you will recover immediately, and it can also enhance combat power without harming the body."

They encountered a scorpion-tailed snake as soon as they entered the forest,itwas40meters long, with scales as large as shields, coiled like a small mountain. Its head had three pairs of yellow eyes, capable of tracking multiple targets simultaneously.

Most strikingly, its tail had a scorpion-like stinger, able to pierce a person at any moment.

Ryan saw that the scorpion-tailed snake was protecting a flower, which was red from leaf to stem. At first glance, one would definitely think it was highly poisonous, but in fact, it was a treasure.

Ryan and Paul discussed a plan, "You hide in a concealed spot and don't let the scorpion-tailed snake notice you. When I call you, come out immediately to help."

"Can you handle it alone?"

"Although I can't shift, I am not worse than you." After saying this, Ryan immediately jumped up, attracting the attention of the scorpion tail snake.

The scorpion tail snake is very fast, its entire body covered with smooth scales, and its snake tail contains a highly poisonous liquid, causing all the grass it crawled over to wither.

Ryan focused, silently repeating "pain" in his mind, launching a mental attack, slightly controlling the scorpion tail snake's brain. The large python immediately let out a painful roar, its attacks becoming increasingly erratic.

Ryan held a dagger, and stabbed it directly into the throat of the scorpion snake, while at the same time, the scorpion snake's tail moved slightly, preparing to sneak attack from behind.

Paul shifted into a bull, using his bull legs to jump up and step on its tail. Because his bull hooves were very thick, the tail could not be pierced, so he would not be poisoned.

Ryanused his mental control to make the dagger, which had slipped from his hand, stab deeper and deeper. He gritted his teeth tightly, blood was already rising in his throat, with a metal licsmell, a sign of overexertion, but he still persisted.

Until he heard a soft pop, the branch pierced the scorpion snake's heart, then from the snake skin at its heart, it came out, blood splattered all over the ground.

Ryan's eyes were cold and indifferent, no matter how much a snake cultivates, it is still essentially a snake, and the heart is always their weakness.
