Alex slowly pushed himself up from the shattered concrete, his massive coils trembling as he shook off the dust and debris. He lifted his head and glared at the Mecha-Wyvern perched atop the remains of a collapsed skyscraper. The metal beast let out a mocking, synthesized roar, its crimson eyes burning with artificial malice.
Alex's gaze flicked to the right. Godzilla was locked in a brutal struggle against two of the artificial titans, while Kong wrestled another to the ground. They had already managed to destroy two with sheer force and teamwork—but the battle was far from over.
Alex hated to admit it, but fatigue was beginning to crawl through his body after all the fight had been raging on for an hour now. That was dangerous. Because something else was coming.
Two signatures.
One from the air.
One from the sea.
But… of them didn't feel like a Titan.
Kaiju?
Alex's pupils tightened. Did they emerge again to take advantage of the chaos?
Before he could finish the thought, the Mecha-Wyvern launched itself from its perch, jets igniting beneath its metal wings. Alex met the charge head-on, the two titans slamming skulls with a thunderous CRACK that rippled through the broken cityscape. Alex reeled, its reinforced frame had absorbed the impact far better than he expected.
The Mecha-Wyvern struck instantly.
It lunged, steel jaws clamping around Alex's neck. Alex choked as the mechanical titan beat its wings, lifting them both several meters into the air before slamming him into the ground with devastating force. Dust and shattered pavement erupted outward like a wave.
Still crushing his throat, the Mecha-Wyvern finally released him, only to drive one heavy, taloned foot into Alex's chest. The claws punched into flesh. Alex roared in agony as blood sprayed across the rubble.
The metal beast raised its head, its jaw splitting open as a molten-red glow began forming deep in its throat.
Alex cursed internally. Flat on his back, lungs burning, he forced his own maw open as a crimson light began gathering, his crimson Resonance charging.
The Mecha-Wyvern's glow intensified.
Alex's vision shook.
Then, with a sharp snap of its head—
The Mecha-Wyvern unleashed its plasma discharge.
At that exact moment,Alex fired his Crimson Resonance.
The clash of beams raged like a miniature sun.
Alex's Crimson Resonance collided with the Mecha-Wyvern's molten plasma discharge, the two attacks grinding against each other in a blistering storm of red and white light. The ground beneath Alex buckled, molten cracks glowing beneath his coils.
For a moment,just one moment,Alex held.
Then the Mecha-Wyvern narrowed its glowing eyes and increased the intensity of its beam.
The plasma surged forward.
"Shit, shit, shit—" Alex cursed internally as the heat began to scorch his snout, the attack closing in inch by agonizing inch.
when the clouds suddenly split apart.
A shriek tore through the sky.
Battra descended like a meteor, wings crackling with violent cosmic energy. He dive-bombed straight toward the Mecha-Wyvern, talons outstretched, and hooked them deep into the metal titan's back. His enormous momentum ripped the Mecha-Wyvern off balance, dragging the artificial titan downward.
The Mecha-Wyvern's plasma beam jerked off course, slicing through two skyscrapers and severing them cleanly in half as they collapsed in a shower of glass and steel.
Alex's Crimson Resonance shot harmlessly into the sky, piercing through the clouds like a red pillar.
Battra released his grip at the last second.
The Mecha-Wyvern crashed and rolled across the ruined street, tearing up asphalt and concrete as sparks flew off its armor. Battra pulled up sharply, hovering above the battlefield, wings flapping in slow, powerful strokes as he unleashed a thunderous SCREEEECH that shook the air.
The Mecha-Wyvern pushed itself upright, sensors flickering.only for its vision to fill with Alex's charging form.
Alex launched himself like a missile.
Midway through the leap, he activated his gravity field. His colossal body lightened just enough for him to twist with impossible agility. He landed on the Mecha-Wyvern's shoulder, claws digging through metal plating.
His other foot clamped down across the metal titan's face like an eagle's talon, forcing its jaws shut.
Before the Mecha-Wyvern could counter, Alex's twin tails whipped around its wings and bound them tight, locking its thrusters.
Then Alex spread his own massive wings.
The gravity field flared.
With a powerful flap, Alex tore both of them off the ground, lifting the Mecha-Wyvern bodily into the sky,its wings trapped, its mouth closed, helpless in his grip.
Meanwhile, with Kong…
Kong roared as he pushed back the artificial titans in a brutal contest of strength. One of the titans clamped its jaws around his axe, sending it tumbling back. Kong leapt into the air, axe raised to strike, but a tail slammed into his chest, knocking the wind out of him. Twisting midair, he landed on his feet.
The artificial titan charged, swiping its claws at his face. Kong caught the limb and, with a swift, charged strike from his axe, severed it clean off. Ignoring the pain, the titan bit into Kong's arm holding the axe, shaking him like a ragdoll. Kong roared in agony, dropping the weapon. He lashed out with his right hand, punching the titan twice before it released him.
Kong grabbed his injured arm as the titan spun, delivering a tail strike. He rolled under the blow, and as the titan turned, Kong landed a brutal uppercut, sending it crashing onto its back. Quickly, he retrieved his axe and crouched atop the fallen titan. With a squelch, his blade struck true, cleaving the titan's head. Blood sprayed across Kong as he drove the axe deeper. The titan twitched once, then went limp.
Breathing heavily, Kong rolled off the titan, clutching his injured arm. His eyes met the scene of Godzilla: one foot pinning the head of an artificial titan into paste, while the other pressed down on another, atomic breath pinned and searing. Godzilla grabbed the titan's jaw, pried it open, and unleashed a blast of atomic energy inside. The titan roared once in agony before collapsing, slack and lifeless. Godzilla pushed its head aside like garbage.
A flash in the sky drew their attention. A burning meteor descended rapidly. Behind it, Alex hovered, pushing it down with his crimson resonance. Another titan joined him, firing a laser beam that accelerated the meteor's descent. Kong didn't recognize the new titan—but Godzilla did.
Battra. His ally, his opposite, his nemesis.
As the meteor neared, it became clear it wasn't just a rock—it was Mecha Wyvern. It slammed into the ground with a deafening boom, sending a shockwave ripping through the city. Kong ducked just in time; Godzilla, caught off guard, tumbled backward.
Alex circled and landed near the crater where Mecha Wyvern lay in shattered pieces. Battra landed before him, wings spread, aura blazing.
--------------
Twenty minutes earlier, Shao Industries Hangar, Hong Kong.
The massive hangar trembled under the roar of rocket thrusters as engineers hustled around Gipsy Danger, its hull freshly repaired, armor plates shining under the bright floodlights. Sparks flew from welding rigs, and coolant mist hung in the air..
Jake Pentecost climbed into the pilot seat, helmet under his arm, muscles tense with anticipation. Beside him, Nate Lambert ran a final diagnostic over the neural interface, fingers flicking across the glowing panels.
From the control pit, Gottlieb's voice cut through the din. Calm, precise, authoritative. "All systems are nominal. Rocket engines online. Countdown commencing—T-minus thirty seconds."
Jake and Nate exchanged a glance, their hands tightening on the neural sync handles.
"Alright, we've got one shot at this.let's make it count" Jake muttered.
Gottlieb's voice counted down, echoing through the hangar: "Thirty… twenty… ten…"
The rocket engines roared to life, fire and smoke blasting from the thrusters. Gipsy Danger's legs lifted from the platform, shaking the ground beneath, as the Jaeger slowly hovered.
"…Three… two… one… ignition!"
With a deafening roar, Gipsy Danger shot forward, rockets blazing, punching through the hangar roof and into the sky. Engineers shielded their eyes from the fire and shockwave as the massive Jaeger streaked toward Shanghai, the cityscape shrinking beneath them.
From a secondary hangar, two carrier jets began their coordinated takeoff. Massive aircraft designed to lift Jaegers into the air, now heading toward the East China Sea, their hulking frames bristling with technology.
Far away, Liwen's fingers danced across her console in a secure cyber-hub. Her eyes widened as she infiltrated the carrier jets' systems.
"They're not just carrying fuel or weapons…" she muttered, scrolling rapidly. The interface highlighted a cluster of spherical units labeled 'Prototype Repair Units—Shao Industries Nano-Tech'. These nanotechnology units were designed to repair Jaegers mid-battle, a game-changing advantage in any kaiju engagement.
Liwen's eyes narrowed as she dug deeper, hacking through firewalls and overrides. What she found next made her blood run cold.
Newt Geiszler's signature was all over it.
He hadn't just overridden the repair units. He was orchestrating something far more audacious.A plan to merge all seven kaijus into a single, colossal entity.kaiju unlike anything the world had ever seen.Far bigger and stronger than mega Kaiju.
Liwen's heart raced. The implications were catastrophic. If Newt succeeded, no Jaeger even Gipsy Danger, would be enough to stop it,hell even the alpha titans combined might not stand a chance.
"Shit," she whispered, her fingers flying over the console as she tried to regain control over the jets.
End of chapter.
