for Advance Chapter
Near Oldtown, no one dared to set foot there. Oldtown, west of the factory, was inhabited by strange people, rumored to be monsters. Some villagers claimed they were werewolves. However, even if they were strange, these werewolves rarely attacked the locals and seemed to be under control. The villagers were generally armed, so they didn't worry about anything.
According to Achina, her deception was that those people didn't believe in the Mother Goddess Miranda, and therefore were punished and transformed into something neither human nor ghost. It was a bit ridiculous, but people fell for it, and needed it. These stories of bulls, gods, snakes, and ghosts were very convincing.
Arriving at the loyal heart of Old Town, they saw more werewolves along the way, surrounded by numerous bones, both human and animal. The bloodthirsty werewolves roared incessantly, their fury flaring upon seeing Chen Luo, a urge to tear him apart. A
mere snort from Achina caused the werewolves to retreat, not daring to meet her gaze. This Lady Yasha still held considerable authority. Although her combat skills were minimal, her immense strength advantage, coupled with the natural high-level suppression of her Gift, rendered these mere werewolves of the Gift powerless to resist Achina. The combination
of the Cardu parasite and the mold fostered a hierarchy, much like the T-Veronica virus: higher-level members could manipulate lower-level members, one chain upon another, ultimately achieving world domination. However, the two differed. While the former could not be controlled, they could be commanded, and werewolves possessed intelligence. The T-Veronica virus, on the other hand, compromised the intelligence of lower-level members, rendering them like puppets. This was a fundamental difference.
They arrived at a relatively clean house. Three people were already sitting in the room: the hunched-over Morro, the idiot fish, covered in a tarp; the cigar-chomping martial arts scholar Heisenberg; and finally, the puppeteer Donna, dressed in black mourning clothes and clutching a pure white doll. The doll's face was a composite of the sun and moon, possessing its own life force, though controlled by Donna.
In terms of combat power, from lowest to highest, they were Morro, the puppeteer Donna, the eight-foot-tall lady Achina, and the martial arts scholar Heisenberg. Morro, the puppeteer, was more formidable in water situations.
Heisenberg, however, was still considered the strongest fighter, though the gap between him and the eight-foot-tall lady Achina wasn't huge.
Everyone has flaws, even the most perfect of two. Achina suffers from a blood-sucking disorder, while Heisenberg is known for his irritability and low emotional intelligence; neither can be considered a perfect vessel.
"You actually brought this outsider here, Achina, you'd better not play with fire, I don't have time to help you clean up the mess!" The martial arts candidate Heisenberg had a bad temper and looked impatient with everyone.
Madam Bachi was no pushover, she sneered at him, "Mind your own business, Heisenberg!"
"Humph!" Heisenberg didn't get angry with Madam Bachi, she looked at Chen Luo with her eyes wearing funny sunglasses, as if she was sizing him up. "What are you doing here?"
"Delivering a letter." After Chen Luo finished speaking, he took the thick steel pipe on the side and bent it with his bare hands, "No need to show your power, unless you want to fight me. Don't think you are powerful just because you can control metal. In my eyes, your ability is just a little bit."
"Really? Haha, then fight him. If you win, I'll allow you to stand here and talk to me." The martial arts candidate grinned and clapped his hands.
A beast-like, almost humanoid monster came in frightened, crawling on all fours, its eyes transformed into those of an animal. Only its appearance retained its human form; the rest of its form was indistinguishable from that of a beast.
Roar! The wolf leader roared angrily, baring its teeth and growling at Chen Luo. It looked more like a dog than a wolf.
At this moment, a masked woman slowly descended from the roof. She was wearing a strange black robe and a scarf draped around her neck, emblazoned with the emblems of the four great families. Only her hazy face could be seen, her sharp eyes like a hunter selecting her prey. "What did Spencer ask you to do?"
Chen Luo took out a letter and threw it over. "Delivering a letter." With that, he suddenly attacked, punching the wolf leader and sending it flying.
Boom! A hole was punched through the wall, but the force continued to fly backwards. Bang! Finally, it crashed hard into a tree in the snow before coming to a stop. It staggered to its feet, seemingly battered. Even with its immense memory and recovery abilities, it still hadn't recovered.
"That punch was only 30% full. If you challenge me again, I'll slaughter your entire werewolf army!" Chen Luo's smile was incredibly sinister, clearly no pushover. He wasn't one to play nice, and clearly no ordinary person.
Mother Goddess Miranda simply reached out and effortlessly caught the incoming letter, a move that would likely have cut anyone. She opened the letter and read the contents. It consisted of nothing more than a few greetings and boasts of their accomplishments. One sought immortality, the other to resurrect their daughter.
Miranda was already over a hundred years old, yet she looked only in her thirties or forties. With some grooming, she could easily pass for twenty. Perfectly adapted to the mold, the power she could unleash was astonishing. Without the right physique, this wouldn't be possible, and perhaps a bit of luck would be necessary.
After reading the letter, Miranda waved it, and it burst into flames. "Since it was sent by Spencer, it seems my student has achieved his goal."
"No, not really. And I'm not his subordinate, I'm just collaborating with him. His goal of achieving immortality is ridiculous, and I don't want to expose him," Chen Luo said sarcastically. The desire for immortality is essentially a delusion, an unrealistic fantasy, simply laughable. And even wanting to become a god? It's all about having money and being willful, but not having the destiny!
