Eleanor's POV
The silence stretched, heavy with a pain I couldn't fully comprehend. Then, Dr. Chloe began to speak, her voice flat, as if reciting a terrible history lesson.
"When your great-grandmother, Queen Eleanor, became the Luna of the Shadow Pack decades ago, she wasn't satisfied. She was greedy. She wanted more land to rule, more people to bow to her. But she needed an army, one with power. So she turned to her own people—the ones from the place she was born, the ones who could wield energy and cast spells." She took a shaky breath. "Most refused. Some agreed out of shared ambition. A few joined out of fear. Then, the great war happened."
I listened, horror coiling in my stomach. I couldn't even imagine the scale of such a conflict.
