Chapter 13 - She's the Queen?

Lydia's POV

Looking at the woman who just came in, I could find a resemblance; she looked familiar. Her piercing gaze swept amongst us, making me almost pee in my pants. I felt bad or maybe guilty for knowing the truth yet unable to say it. If I tell them that Felisha is behind it, will me and Felisha's friendship still hold?

I stood still, deep in thought and lost in my world, until I felt a heavy slap on my cheek, causing the world around me to shake. I stumbled backwards from the force of the slap, my face burning in pain. My ear rang and for a minute I thought I'd go deaf.

"Can't you hear me?" came the woman's voice who just arrived. I looked at her as tears gathered in my eyes.

"You dared reject your mate!" she shouted; her words brought a deep shock to my being.

"No—no, I didn't," I stuttered.

"You are lying, right? You want to deny it, huh?" she barked. Everything looked strange to me. What's going on? I thought and looked around, only to notice that everyone was looking at me.

"He is not my mate! I don't even know much about this world!" I blurted out in anger, and I was shocked by my own speech. I was not meant to say something like that, not here.

I looked around as the girls stared at me in awe.

"What are you?" the woman asked with a smirk, looking at me like I had lost my mind.

I remained silent. "You killed my son! You animal!" the woman shouted in anger, giving me another hot slap that made my head spin. It was her son no wonder I found her familiar.

"I—I didn't," I spoke in pain, hot tears rolling down my eyes. I felt a burning pain in me, causing me to close my eyes. "I won't agree to this false accusation!" I retorted in anger while crying.

"You didn't do it? Then why were you lost when I stepped in? What are you feeling guilty of?" she questioned as she dragged my shirt, shaking me as she talked. I could see raw pain in her eyes the pain of a mother who just lost her child but I wasn't the one who was behind it.

"I'll kill you today, so you'll meet him in the afterlife!" she screamed, knocking me to the ground. She began to hit me fiercely, causing me to gasp in pain. She continued, and when I thought I would die I heard a voice.

"Enough!" the voice belonged to the Senior Chain Mistress. My breathing was low and my body ached all over.

"Whipkeeper, do you want to kill her?" came her authoritative voice.

"She killed my son! She rejected her mate!" the Whipkeeper shouted in agony, crying.

"So what? Why don't you allow us to investigate this matter properly? Instead you took the law into your own hands and acted single handedly. You know your actions can attract punishment, right?" the Chain Mistress reminded her.

She didn't respond. Instead we heard her loud wailing and me?

I was waiting for my death... No one cared about me and I felt like all my bones were detached from my body. I closed my eyes, waiting for my death, and I felt my body being carried away. I was too tired to open my eyes.

Am I being carried to be buried? I asked myself as I became unaware of my surroundings.

I don't know how many seconds, minutes or hours it took, but when I woke up I found myself in a different room entirely, laying on soft sheets that made me feel like I was in heaven. "Was I reincarnated into another world?" I thought as I stared at the perfectly designed ceiling, the style looking a bit modern.

I smiled as I already concluded I've reincarnated again, but this time? I think I belong to a wealthy family because, telling from the ceiling, I could tell it was made with high quality material and the soft sheets I'm laying on remind me of my past life.

I tried to move but I felt a sharp pain all over my body. "Ah—" I moaned in pain. "What's going on?" I murmured. I tried to move my hands but they wouldn't obey, like my system was not obeying the command of my brain.

Laying down in pain, tears rolled down my eyes.

"How do I get out of this?" I asked myself, feeling frustrated. "Am I still a werewolf?" I wondered.

"Delia, are you there?" I asked, waiting for her response, but she didn't reply.

"Thank goodness," I murmured and smiled, which made me feel like my cheekbone was being crushed by thousands of stones.

"Serves you right, ain't you happy that you don't have me?" I heard Delia's mocking voice inside my head and I closed my eyes in frustration.

So... I am still a werewolf... Then where am I?

I wondered and immediately I heard the door open, but I couldn't look at who entered because of the severe pains I was feeling.

A warm hand touched me, making me flinch in surprise, causing my body great pain. "Ouch, don't move too much," came a woman's calm voice. She moved closer to me and I could now see her face. She's very beautiful and looked in her early forties. She had this special and graceful aura that made me know she is of noble blood.

Is this maybe my mother in another werewolf world? I asked myself as I studied her face, which carried a faint resemblance like I've met her before, but I couldn't tell or maybe it's just my brain that's messing with me.

She reached out, about to touch my face, and I closed my eyes. "I won't harm you," she chuckled, causing me to open my eyes back. I stared at her graceful appearance.

"Are you my Mother?" I spoke these words and watched as she beamed with a smile.

Then I heard footsteps approaching us. "Were you hit in your head? You dare call the Queen your mother?" The voice sounded harsh and unf

orgiving, making me widen my eyes in amusement. She's the Queen?
