Chapter 32 - Chapter 32

Nikael was exhausted, in pain.

-I think I won't make it if I continue like this. -Nikael thought as he looked at his injured leg.

It had been a few hours since Sam attacked the Mocus.

Nikael came out of an alley and ran into a Mocus who ran when he saw him.

-What's wrong with him? -Nikael asked himself as he walked towards a nearby cafeteria, he entered pointing his gun, but there was no one there, he sighed in relief, but the relief was short-lived, a few minutes later outside the cafeteria he heard Sam's voice.

-My favorite prey, it's time to play. -Sam said with a mocking and malicious tone.

Nikael leaned back behind the bar, shortly after Sam entered and said in a friendly tone:

-You know, I smelled another Mocus, the one that attacked you was destroyed, entrails everywhere, you could say that the explosion gutted it. -A laugh. -His flesh stuck to nearby premises. -A pause. -Well, I guess so, because I walked away without corroborating it, just for you.

Nikael just remained silent, Sam continued:

-I think that Thing is afraid of us.

-They fear you. -Nikael replied.

-Don't you think it's curious, we met for the first time in a cafeteria. It must be fate. -Sam said with a reflective tone.

-Why are you putting this off so much? You already won! Throw a grenade. -Nikael replied, although deep down, he didn't want that to happen.

-It would not be aesthetic to throw a grenade. -Sam laughed again. -Salt! I will only use a gun; Shoot me in the head and you'll win, or I'll win.

-Why should I believe you? -Nikael asked suspiciously.

-If I had wanted it to be easy, I would have thrown the grenade like you said, or I would have let that Adephesius kill you. -Sam said.

-I can't believe I lost against someone so crazy. -Nikael said with a gloomy tone.

-If I'm honest, for me, you are more insane than me. -Sam said.

-Because? -Nikael asked.

Sam sat down on a table and answered:

-You wake up in an unknown place, you see something monstrous, you stay calm, you try to be calculating and you try to do everything alone; Guys like you must know how to use others or kill them all, your talent is not compatible with morality.

The silence lasted almost a minute. Then, Nikael responded:

-Yes you're right. If I analyze it now, I should have killed them all, it is something I will regret.

Nikael put the gun to his temple, took a deep breath, exhaled and...

Bang!
