Chapter 59: A Day of Rest.
- Shin –
I looked around the house. Several people were now carrying their own Pokémon egg and taking care of it.
After reaching home, I distributed a Magikarp Egg to Ingvild, A Happiny to Asia, Mime Jr. for Robin and a Febass for Hancock.
I was out of Pokémon eggs and the others wanted to see the Familiar Forest too so Rias was going to book a slot there first. If they don't get anything interesting, we can always buy something.
The cleanup of the incident was laid on the shoulders of the leaders and we relaxed for the next week.
It has been a month since then. Everyone had gotten into their daily lives. The ones from the previous world were learning everything they could about this world. Hancock was too old to be registered as a student so she was instead recruited as a teacher. A P.E teacher for the students.
She needed to work on her temper but she was still massively famous. Anywhere you go, people are horny. That's just the way it is.
Law was hired as a doctor for the school and was an advisor for the Kendo Club.
Yamato… she was still learning.
Perona could pass for a student and was forced to attend school by Sona. There have been several rumors of people seeing ghosts since then in Kuoh Academy.
Robin was training to become a History Teacher. She had devoted herself to research with the help of the Gale Force Reading Glasses which she got from me.
I for one was busy beyond anyone else.
I had to make enough stock for my potions and Artifacts for my business to start officially. Considering what my range of buyers was, it meant that if I started the sale with just a few thousand of the potions, it would be gone in a single moment. There were six entire pantheons who were my customers.
I had to make a visit to all those pantheons before the opening too. I also had to inspect the land which was given to me by the Shinto and Norse Pantheons.
The Shinto's gave me the town beside Kuoh for ease of access.
The Norse have given me land in Scandinavian as well as Asgard. In fact the land in Asgard was near Rossweisse's own home which I still need to visit.
The Youkai on the other hand were to make a contract with me about the herbs and raw materials for my potions. I had to visit Yasaka in Kyoto for the final meeting.
Kuroka had been learning how to mend Leylines and I need to take her back to the One Piece world to fix the Ley Lines there as well.
Sigh.
"You should take some rest, Shin. You have been working tirelessly for a whole month now. It will all be fine." Rias sat behind me and pulled me into her lap.
"Just when I think I am done with the work, things start piling up again." I complained.
"You are starting a business of this scale. It's obvious that you will need to work hard at the start. Moreover you want to make it independent. This kind of work is to be expected until your business picks up speed." She caressed my hair softly and I felt relaxed again.
"You're right. I'm just… tired."
"Then just take some rest. No one says that you have to complete the work in a month. We still have two months till the opening date."
"How is everyone taking the news about the One Piece world?" The Satans had to disclose that bit as did the other Leaders to avoid trouble at a future date. Serafall was the only one against it. They were after all the leaders of their faction and unlike the previous ones, the current Satans were chosen and didn't have absolute control. They did however make it clear that they will not allow anyone in that world or allow anyone to force me about it. "I have more or less been locked in my lab to complete my work so I couldn't keep a track of them." I at this point didn't care. Roger's way of thinking had affected me quite a lot.
Rias had gone to the Underworld to pay a visit to her mother as well as submit the monthly reports about her territory. It was her turn and she must have heard about the news from there.
"It's… been chaotic." She winced.
"I kind of expected that. It would be surprising if it wasn't chaotic." I commented.
"According to the Satans, they had to send an express order to bar anyone from trying to contact you. Onii-sama and Lady Serafall had been very adamant about it and in a rare show, even the Beelzebub, Lord Ajuka took a stand. They were informed about your status as the Champion of Death, your ability to change races at will and you being the sole person who can bring people to that world until another way is discovered. There were still outcries but they had stated in clear words that while you were a part of the Devil faction, your personal properties are yours alone. You cannot be ordered by anyone to take anyone to that world lest they offend your Patron Deity. Things calmed down a little after that."
"How long is the stay order?" I asked, already imagining the headache.
"Two more weeks. You will be required to make a public appearance after that. The date was decided to be a week after my birthday."
"So they decided to bring your birthday back?" I asked. Since we had spent around four months in a different world, Rias was almost eighteen. Her birthday was in a week.
"No. We will have a private celebration for my real birthday in a week and another, a public one for the rest in April. For all matters, I will be considered an adult in a week." Rias beamed at me.
I brought her face to me and kissed her lightly.
"So, I will be facing a crowd of devils, each wanting a piece of me in two weeks? That does sound annoying." I commented laying back in her lap.
"You don't know half the annoying things I had to deal with. Since the announcement itself two weeks ago, there have been over eleven hundred letters of invitation to tea parties, dinners; birthdays… the most annoying ones were the marriage proposals. They know I am engaged to you and still they…" She clenched her hands tightly. I grasped her hand and caressed them to soothe her.
"They are silly people. Don't worry about them." I soothed her.
"Shin, you don't understand the sheer audacity of these people. They sent those letters to me… me, because they didn't have the address for this place."
"And thus I say, they are silly people. I hope you destroyed them all."
"Can't do that. It is apparently considered impolite to not reply to these letters." She rolled her eyes at the sheer stupidity.
"So it's fine to insult you through such thinly veiled attacks but it becomes insulting if they don't get a proper reply." I asked incredulously.
"The traditions are dumb." She shrugged her shoulders.
"They sure are." I snuggled into her lap a little more. My hands snaked around her, hugging her waist and bringing her closer to me.
I suddenly realized something. "So, you were actually answering all of them by yourself?" I asked looking back at her. I personally would have destroyed each and every one of them, stupid traditions be damned. Those are just plain insulting to Rias.
"Obviously. Could you imagine what type of scandal it would be if someone answered something with a yes? There were above two hundred and ninety marriage proposals. I answered them all myself. Akeno and the other girls took care of the other invitations except those from the Pillar Houses which I had to address personally. I took them to Mother to get her opinion about the matter. Hermione, Fleur, Sakuya and even Grayfia helped sort everything out and reply to the letters. We needed to double check anything in case something wrong was written."
"What about your family?" I asked changing her subject to calm her down.
"Oh, Millicas has been over the moon. His Pokémon Egg hatched and the Growlithe from it followed him everywhere he went. He spends all his time outside his lessons and training playing and training with it. Recently Grayfia's Pokémon Egg also hatched and the little Ralts simply follows her like a lost child everywhere. The whole place seemed much more cheerful this time around. Mother seemed slightly happier too."
"Good. Are they planning anything for your birthday?" I asked.
"I wanted to celebrate it here. It will only be close friends and family." She replied.
"Good, then leave the planning to me. I know of just the thing you would like. Just give me the list of people that would come." I said with a smile.
I saw her face brighten at my idea and she agreed.
"On other matters, what was the response about Kuroka?" I asked, changing back the topic to something else.
"That… hadn't been well received either. The Naberius House had downright stated her to be a liar. The Satans were however prepared with the evidence that we have extracted from the spirit of Kuroka's former King as well as the Old Satan faction people. They weren't given any room to wriggle. The former King was declared a traitor who was planning a rebellion and the charges on Kuroka were removed. There was obviously noise about there being a bad precedent being set by this. Those people were told to be careful when recruiting new people and that letting traitors escape would set an even worse precedent. The Naberius Head had to acquiesce to the inspections of the government. Kuroka's position as the new Envoy of the Shinto Pantheon did make some people keep quiet but they were not happy either. I think that Onii-sama and the rest had to expend a lot of political capital to suppress those voices this time."
"I hate these political things."
"Me too."
The girl in question however didn't look the least bit bothered. She could hear everything even at the other side of the room when teaching Koneko and Morgiana about Senjutsu and Touki.
Suddenly I remembered about my meeting with Yasaka. "Oh, by the way, I was invited to Kyoto by Yasaka. Wanna join me there? Apparently they want to sign the contract about the raw materials with me. We could… you know, have some fun in Kyoto after that, just the two of us. It will be a date."
She looked at me, beaming and nodded.
By then many others had gathered in the living room from their work.

"I already gave you the artifact from the More More Fruit and even the Absol."
"You gave everyone an artifact and a Pokémon Egg. That doesn't count." She retorted.
"You don't know a woman's heart, Shin-kun." Akeno came up and sat on the couch near my feet. Others began paying attention to me as well. Even Kuroka who would have retorted to Akeno just for the sake of retorting didn't say anything and just looked.
"Hmm, fair enough. So what do I have?" I thought for a moment and then I remembered something. A smirk appeared on my face. "I guess I will just have to give myself to you then."
"Hmm?" she looked a bit confused and I took the opportunity to pull my trick.
Race Change: Pallum.
In just a moment, my body shrunk making my clothes loose and I felt the room around me become almost double in size.

The entire room was quiet.
Rias for her part looked stunned in shock.
"Dibs." Akeno shouted, and I am sure I spotted a weird glint in her eyes.
That word broke Rias and many out of their reverie.

We arrived at the gates of the shrine that was the gate to where the Youkai lived, separate from the main Kyoto, in a sort of a small hidden dimension. This dimension was powered in part by Yasaka who kept the normal and the supernatural sides of the city separated from each other.
This was also one of the reasons why Yasaka couldn't stay away from the capital for too long.
The gatekeepers were two guardian Tengu who had already been informed of our arrival and brought us towards the main gates of Yasaka's residence while another guard ran ahead to inform the leader herself.
And sure enough, we were met at the gate by two blonde nine tailed foxes, one small, the other BIG with two six tailed foxes in their arms.
"Welcome to our humble abode. I hope you all didn't have any difficulties in your journey." Yasaka welcomed us while the little fox tried to maintain her princess look as much as possible but her swishing tail gave away her happiness quite easily.
"Thank you for your invitation, Lady Yasaka. Our journey was very comfortable. Kyoto is a very beautiful city and we enjoyed the scenes a lot." Rias replied and I nodded in return too.
"Kunou, introduce yourself."
The little nine tailed fox girl shyly bowed lightly, "Hello. We are Kunou. We wish to thank you for your gift to us." She held up the vulpix in her arms.

Yasaka just smiled at this and led us to her mansion. We spent some time attending a tea ceremony hosted by her and then the discussions for the trade began. I sat this one out as Rias took my place for the negotiation. She was learning more about trade and agreements to help me in my business.
"I was told that you wish for the herbs and some ingredients that we Youkai possess for the purpose of making potions. Can I know what kind of potion you will be producing?" Yasaka started the negotiation.
"I am sorry but we cannot disclose that. It is after all our recipe, a secret that is the basis of our business." Rias replied gently.
"I see. My apologies for prying too deep. I just thought it would help me provide some alternatives for payments."
"Please think nothing of it. We did give you the list of Potions that we wish to sell on our opening. There will be some potions that will only be auctioned for either special favours or rare valuables. These will be revealed on the day of the auction. I mean we cannot put a price on things like a Longinus. This was the best thing we could think of."
She looked thoughtful for a moment, "Will the Divine Beast spirits and the Nine Tailed Fox Spirit also be included in the auction?"
"Currently we are not looking to sell those but as Shin has already promised, if we do sell those, we will give the Shinto Pantheon priority."
"In that case, we took an opportunity to make a list of the herbs and products that the Youkai can offer. In return, we hope for the payment to be in potions though."
"In the meanwhile, please keep the news of the potions to yourself as the council will be informed a few days before the opening to avoid giving them any time to cause trouble. Currently, only the leaders of each faction are given those lists to peruse."
I watched as the two sides negotiated and bartered for every single hair of a Kitsune's tail and a drop of Health Potion.

"About the Leylines in the other world, it was difficult to teach her when I don't even know the extent or type of the damage on the Leylines or even the nature of it. Controlling the energies of the Leylines is a different thing and fixing them is completely different. I believe she has already informed you about this?" Yasaka asked me.
I nodded. "She did. I was planning to take the opportunity of Rias' birthday celebration to take us to that world for a few days to visit. We would like to invite you as well along with your daughter. Think of it as a vacation. As for the payment for the work, we can discuss it after you see the work needed to be done in the first place." I was actually planning to give them the Nine Tailed Fox Devil Fruit as I already had copies of it. The work needed in the One Piece World will be massive and even with Kuroka's help; it would have taken a while. Yasaka helping was a boon to us simply.
"And I can return to the exact time I left this world, correct?"
"Yes." I answered softly.
"In that case, I will impose on you." she nodded back.
"We will be happy to have you. Just take it as a vacation. Your duties must be keeping you busy and you as well as the other leaders can use a vacation."
In the end, we had our dinner served to us where Kunou joined us too.
I looked at the little fox girl looking at us when she thought we weren't looking.
Yasaka talked to us on various topics but mainly the subject of the One Piece world and the Mink Tribe.
At the end of the night, we took our leave but instead of teleporting back directly, Rias and I walked around in the Supernatural District of the area. The Youkai were active during the night. It was a quiet time that the two of us enjoyed well, a fresh change from our recent, extremely hectic time table.
- Scene Change –
It was the day before the Birthday Party and Rias' family were going to come meet us and decide what we were going to do on the birthday as many important people will be attending.
Sirzechs was going to bring them and soon enough I felt their arrivals through my wards as a crimson Teleportation Circle lit the living room and people stepped out of it.
Sirzechs with Millicas and his parents with Grayfia following them enter the house.
"Ria-tan!" The first to step forward was Sirzechs who hugged Rias and then she proceeded to the rest of her family.
"Millicas, Mother." Rias greeted them with a hug while I gave them a nod. "Come on in, we have the dinner ready already."
I did notice how she just gave her father a simple nod. I hadn't really talked to the man so I couldn't say anything in this either.
Rindo had prepared a great meal for the occasion and was already preparing for the birthday party of tomorrow.
"So, what are the plans for tomorrow? I have heard that Shin himself was planning the party this time." It was Sirzechs who broke the ice.
"I did. It's in a different world though. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you enjoy that vacation of yours as well as show you the new world."
I saw the man's face light up with a smile. "Really! A vacation." He looked back at Grayfia. "We need to do the packing for the vacation."
The woman in question merely smiled. "I have already completed everything, my King."
"You knew about it?"
"Sakuya informed me about it a while ago. I took the opportunity to pack a set for the vacation right then."
"Ah. So I was the only one who didn't know?" He pouted.
"Actually, I don't think anyone except Grayfia knew about it." Rias giggled.
"We are going on a vacation, Rias Onee-sama?" Millicas asked excitedly, looking towards both of us.
"Yes, we are." Rias smiled at Millicas. "Shin is arranging a party that even I have no idea about. Anyone who is working on the party is in that world and I didn't get any chance to know about the details."
I merely shrugged my shoulders.
"The main question should be what is in the new world and what do you plan to do with it?" Zeoticus asked, talking for the first time.
"Excuse me?" I asked completely taken aback by the sudden change in topic.
"Father." Sirzechs spoke up, the smile on his face disappearing.
"What? I am just asking him about his future plans. He is going to become my son-in-law. I think I am allowed to ask him about his future."
Well, that's a fair point.
"I have a territory in that world or rather a few territories. The islands are more or less the size of New Zealand when all added together. The main and newest territory is on the new main continent which makes for the majority of the land area in the planet. The total area under me on the main continent should be around the size of Russia. I do have some Sky Islands though I don't know about their areas. I will have to ask my manager in that world." Nami generally managed such things and Nojiko helped her maintain the books. Those two sisters were surprisingly good at doing paperwork. "There are several countries that my people over there watch and get revenue from. The new continent still needs to be developed so I will get to it when I am done with my work here. It will be much easier to do so after the Leylines of the world are fixed. Although as far as I know, the moons of that world are also habitable and I can occupy all five of them, I will have to check up on them as well. We were mainly busy building the base of our territory and helping it recover from the war and the long term mistreatment from the previous king of the island. Setting up a force and protecting the borders and such things."
"And what of the rest of the world?" he asked.
"A large part of the world is unexplored. It will belong to whoever can capture it and I already took some measures for it. As for the already occupied part, most of them are under my allies. They maintain their own territories."
"So you are letting those areas just go to other people?" he asked incredulously. "They are humans, right? You can take the help of our peerages and take over the areas. A world without any Gods or supernatural beings, left mainly to the other races?"
"Father, we are not going to war with anyone. The people in those areas are Satan Class beings. There are hundreds of Ultimate Class beings in the world. Humans like Vasco Strada are common in that world and they also have items like the Sacred Gear. A war like that will devastate both us and that side. And this is not even thinking that Shin has just fought to free that world with his allies. It was an order from Shin's Patron Deity herself. You want us to capture a world that 'IT" has protected through her champion? Do I need to explain the consequences of such an action?" Sirzechs spoke.
A good thing Hancock and Yamato are not here or Law or worse even Issho or Robin.
I saw that the man looked like he had swallowed a lemon.
Is this a Devil of Greed?
Rias on my side looked incensed. Wano was like her own pet project and she had invested more effort in it than me. Moreover, she was fundamentally different from her father as she would never betray her allies. I can see why they don't get along with each other.
I slowly held her hand under the table and looked at her, calming and reassuring softly.
"Alright, we will not talk about the other world but can we at least talk about this world? What about the business that you are opening? I haven't been hearing anything about it. Rias hasn't informed me on anything about it as she ought to do, slacking in her duties." He eyed Rias while I narrowed my eyes at this point. What exactly did he want?
Was he pissed that I had broken the engagement with the Phenex Clan? I did get a negative reputation from him.
In fact my reputation with him was at 5.
"And what exactly should I inform you about, Father?" Finally Rias also asked in a biting voice.
"About what you both are planning to do with the business in the Underworld. What items you are planning to sell, what and how to make those. It is going to have the Gremory name on it, so it is without saying that I would like to know." he spoke and I was caught off-guard suddenly.
"It is my personal business. I don't want to burden anyone else with this. I am making this business to spread my name and do something with my own two hands and make a name for myself. Whether success or failure, it will only rest on me. I don't want to bring anyone down with me."

His emotions were just obvious in front of my Haki although his face didn't do a good enough job hiding this fact at all either.
"You agreed to this?" He asked Rias to which she nodded simply. "So you know how it will look on the Gremory name if the future Lord Gremory used the name of a human wizard house for business instead of ours. What will people think if they find out about it?" Then he turned and spoke to me."Moreover, you will be the Lord Gremory, you should also think of the Gremory House."
He does raise a fair point. Although the intentions behind it are completely different, the point in itself is fair.
I was saved by Rias though. "Shin never said that he will not endorse the Gremory name. He will do so when his business starts to flourish. And by that time, he will have become Lord Gremory too. I don't see any problems with this. If anything, by that time if he is successful, then good for the Gremory house to benefit from the association but if the business doesn't pick up, there is no hair off of our head. I think this is the best possible choice for the Gremory House." She countered, although I could feel the smugness in her emotions as she caught him completely off-guard with such a reasoning.
We all knew that her reasons were completely different from what she just said but even then, no one was able to find any flaws with her logic.
I saw even Sirzechs looking at her with a very small hint of smile on his face.

"Yes, please. I can surely use some suggestions to avoid any problems as long as it doesn't clash with the goals of my work." I said too.
I saw a bit of colour return back to his face.
"You see, the council has been a bit worried." He started in a calmer tone as if explaining to a child. I saw Sirzechs' eyes narrow but he kept quiet. "They are worried that you are new to the Devil society and might not know the ins and outs of the underworld along with your inventions being as… Potentially destructive as they are, if these things are used against the devil Race as a whole… Thus, they wish for your business to be monitored and taken care of by someone experienced. You are also young and sometimes, some of your products might have some bad effects on the underworld that you might not realise and thus it is better to have it under the control of someone until you are experienced enough to take over."
I am pretty sure that at this moment, my face was completely without any emotions. I however didn't need to say anything.
Rias' demonic power was fluctuating violently and I tightened my grip on it to keep things from escalating.
"Father! That is enough. The Satans have already decided that Shin's business will be his and only his to do with as he pleases. I think I made myself plenty clear about that." Sirzechs finally raised his voice, with a tone of finality.
That however was ignored by the fool who was not worried for his life.
"I am just talking to him as his future father-in-law." he waved off Sirzechs' warning.
I kept quiet for the moment, looking to see where all this goes.
Rias picked up the discussion with an extremely neutral tone that honestly made me feel more dread than her throwing around her demonic power. "So, explain this… thing of yours. I assume you must have a contract for this or something."
"Let him answer himself, Rias. This is his business after all." he retorted in a chiding, almost condescending tone.
"It is… and I was hired by Shin as a manager as well as an advisor. One of the many. This is my duty." she responded not giving up.
"I, as a matter of fact, do have a contract. I personally penned down the details for the contract." he brought out a contract from a magic circle.
I believe the fall in the temperature I felt might have been quite literal.
Rias took the contract and I leaned in to read it. I felt her grip on the paper getting harder as she continued reading as she clasped my fingers tighter.
Even with a single glance, I observed several clauses that would render me a slave in his hands if I signed the contract.
She kept the contract down and took a deep breath and looked at Sakuya who had been standing behind us the entire time, serving us our food.
"Would you please get Shin's Bishop, the older one as well as Hermione here. I would have preferred his Queen but he's not present so we will have to work with this for now. Please be quick."
Sakuya bowed and left while the others looked quite confused.
It didn't take much time for Merlin to arrive, followed by Hermione behind her.
Rias said nothing but handed them the contract. "This was a contract made for Shin to sign. I want your opinions on this. Don't hold anything back, just speak anything that you can make out of it."
"Rias, what are you doing? This is a private business contract, a magic contract. Do you know the consequences of showing it to outsiders." he growled.
"They are our peerage members as well as the workers in Shin's businesses. The older one is his bishop and his main advisor."
"And what would someone as young as her understand about the intricacies of the underworld's political arena? What qualifications does she have for this?" He countered.
"She might look young but she is almost thrice your age. As for the qualifications, she picked up a simple orphan and made him the ruler of one of the strongest kingdoms of an entire continent, overseeing several times the area the entire Gremory Family owns. She in her life has made deals with demons and gods surpassing even the original Satans in strength and has always come out on top. This was when she was not even a teenager. I believe that these qualifications are more than enough to hire her as an advisor." She replied, still in a neutral tone.
That shut the man up and stared at Merlin who was looking at the contract now. Sirzechs kept quiet too, knowing the details about Merlin. Since Rias didn't reveal her name, he didn't say anything either.
The room descended into a period of silence.
It was soon broken by Merlin, "So, which idiot drew up this slave contract for Captain?"
And that's when the show started.
"What do you mean by slave contract? It is a business contract." Zeoticus countered almost flustered.
"Yeah, slave trade is also a trade and all that. Sure. Still doesn't change the fact it is what I said it is. The contract makes it impossible for Captain to quit the job, he has to offer his crafting methods to the moderator for safety and review purposes, he will have to listen to their suggestions, which is basically following their orders and since the scope of those orders are not mentioned, it is entirely possible to make him a literal slave with this clause alone. Moreover, the moderator will be managing the stocks and shares of the business and can trade them until the Captain takes control. What's stopping them from not transferring the entire stock to their own name so that Captain is left penniless. Hell, he could buy other stocks and throw the business in debts of other people or even themselves, leaving the captain a debt slave for the rest of his life. Moreover, this contract is Magically Binding."
"I will be his moderator and he will get full rights when he becomes Lord Gremory. I will not betray him." He defended aggressively.
"Then where are such clauses? I didn't see any set date when Captain will become Lord Gremory. I just saw the clauses binding him and not the moderator from screwing him around. And what if Rias misses out or decides to give up her Heiress position. Will the Captain still become Lord Gremory? If so, what will happen to the new Heir? What about after the Captain decides to give up his Lordship and retire? There are no clauses for that. How about I add those and enforce strict punishments for any kind of violation. Or that might be a bit harsh. How about I impose the moderator losing properties equal to the entire worth of the Captain's properties in case he ever tries to make any moves with ill-intent towards the Captain. Also a set date for Rias to become Lady Gremory, like at the age of twenty and in that time no one will be able to change her status and also her marriage with the Captain. Doing so will have them pay the same price as the Captain' entire properties worth. Moreover, after the Captain leaves or decides to retire, the properties will again belong to him." She looked at her apprentice. "Did I miss something Hermione?"
"Yes, actually. The part about the information about Shin's inventions not being shared and the punishments for those who do so." the bushy haired devil replied dutifully, still looking over the contract several times before returning it to her mentor.
"Good. Add a non reveal and non palgarising clause on the designs of the Captain's creations. We can add an intent based clause here because accidents can happen and if the material is stolen, the moderator will be screwed as it is."
And that was that, the idiot finally snapped. "THAT'S RIDICULOUS."
Merlin took the opportunity to burn the paper in her hands. "Exactly. Be thankful, it was me who read this and not the Queen. That guy would have decorated the houses of whoever wrote these stupid things with their own entrails."
"Is that a threat?" he narrowed his eyes, his demonic power flaring but failing to affect the woman who could have crushed him with a gaze.
"Oh no. That was a very simple and inevitable future, had someone tried to enforce that contract. I mean, after all, there was nothing in there stopping anyone from just offing the Moderator and making the contract null and void."
"Okay, that's enough." Sirzechs' voice echoed in the room. "We came here today to discuss how to celebrate my little sister's birthday today and here somehow this has turned into a ploy of binding my future brother-in-law, someone who is closely related to several Pantheons with whom we just signed a peace agreement with, which let me reiterate that he himself worked very hard to make happen. This was also after completely ignoring the direct orders of all the Satans. Father, please don't force me in this matter. There will be no signing of anything. Shin doesn't owe the devil Race anything. We brought him in to repay our debt in the first place."
"This is a family matter. He will become Lord Gremory." the man argued.
"No, it is not. As soon as the matter starts relating with the lives of the people of the Underworld, it comes under the jurisdiction of the Satans. Shin currently is not a member of the Gremory Family and you are trying to make him sign that contract which even Low Class Devil children know better than to touch. Not to mention, you are ignoring my presence completely."
The two father and son stared at each other.
Sirzechs had a near max reputation so I could understand him being defensive about me.
"This…" Rias interrupted the discussion and I felt a pit in my stomach. The one who called Merlin out hadn't even spoken a single word since the terms of the contract were pointed out. "... is all on the basis that I am the Heiress of the Gremory and my husband has to marry in the house as the next Lord Gremory, correct?" The place became quiet and I didn't need my future sight to know what she was about to do next.
"Rias, don't be so emotional." I whispered softly. "Calm down a little and we will discuss things more reasonably."
"It's okay Shin. I already know the results of the discussions. Don't worry, I won't regret anything." She replied.
"What are you two talking about?" Sirzechs asked, looking at the two of us.
"Since the main problem is me being the Heiress of the Gremory House, then I give up my position of the Heiress and if that's not enough, I give up my name as a Gremory. That should stop anyone from pointing fingers, correct. Millicas can be the new Heir and I would get more time to focus on my dream of becoming the Rating Games Champion as well as concentrate on my new work." She spoke and the atmosphere on the table froze over.
"Rias… you…" Even Sirzechs looked stunned into shock.
"It's nothing brother." She turned to her father who looked completely caught off-guard. "I contemplated this idea a few times before but never quite got the time to think over it properly. Thank you for giving me the one much needed push in this matter. I will give up my Gremory name after the marriage and take Shin's family name. That should remove all the problems. I mean it's not like it's something that hasn't been done before. Mother took the Gremory name too. Why can't I do the same. It's not like there isn't another heir."
"Rias… you don't have to do this…" I could fix this problem.
"It's fine Shin. You might hide it from others but do you think I won't see the reasons? Your experiences from your childhood will not allow you to be controlled by anyone. You might try and even go through with it for my sake but that will just make you unhappy. I will never let myself become a reason for your unhappiness. Remember when I told you my dream and you supported me without a word? Let me do the same and support your dream to make a place of your own in this world." My words got stuck in my throat. "Or do you want to marry the Gremory Heiress?"
"I don't care if you are the heiress of the Gremory or a common human. It doesn't matter to me." I answered back quickly.
"Then it is decided. The dinner was wonderful, Sakuya, please give my praise to Rindo." She wiped her mouth with a tissue and got up.
I followed but not before bowing slightly although I wanted nothing more than to blow that bastard's head off for ruining this night. "I apologise for things that happened today. She is a bit emotional. I am sure she will calm down soon."
"And what if she doesn't?" the bastard quipped looking irritated.
"Then I will support her no matter her decision." I spoke looking directly into his eyes. "Now, please excuse me for not being able to entertain you anymore tonight. Sakuya, please see that they are escorted to their rooms when this is done."
This night was a damn fucking mess.

Man this chapter took like forever to write. I had to rewrite a few things several times.
Anyways, as you might have noticed that I was focusing on Rias for now and might have a few ideas about what is to come.
The new arc is starting.
The idiots of the council have started making their moves while Sirzechs is doing everything in his power to prevent their heads from being splattered on the walls of Lilith because they pissed off the wrong person.
Serafall's situation will be seen in this arc too.
This arc will be mainly about Shin's reveal to the world and I will need some time to set up the stage for this.
The planning for the arc might take some time too so the updates for this one will be slightly slower while I will post 'Deal with the Devil' and some Random Snippets maybe.
Also, some life advice. "JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE SOMEONE, DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM."
