Chapter 57 - Chapter 8.9 : Another Morning Misunderstandings

It was a quiet morning at the Virellano residence.

Until—

"WHAAAAAAT?!"

David's voice shook the entire lavish dining room. Everyone turned their heads: his mother paused mid-stir with her tea, and Clarista froze, tablet in hand, halfway through a news article.

Realizing his reaction had been a bit much, David quickly composed himself.

"Ahem… Sorry. I may have overreacted."

"Sis, why Al? Why did you take him? Why not me? I know plenty about the family business!"

David stared at Aurielle as if pleading his case before the International Court of Justice.

Aurielle, calmly chewing her breakfast, gave him a tired look.

"David, I already introduced Al as my assistant to Miss Aiza. It'd be weird to change that suddenly. Especially since Miss Aiza knows him as one of her foundation's scholarship students. His absence would've raised questions."

She set her fork down, looking around the table before continuing.
