I left the convenience store after I was sure Vanessa had left my room and headed upstairs. After getting off the elevator, I found a familiar figure standing before my door, struggling with the locks. Taking a closer look, I realized who it was.
You've got to be kidding me. I turned and re-entered the elevator, but she noticed me and quickly rushed over.
"Parker!" She stopped the elevator from closing, and that's when I noticed little Ariana.
"Big Brother!" Aria called out, smiling at me.
What the heck! Why did this woman bring her here?
I forced a smile onto my face, stepped out of the elevator, and picked Aria up.
"I've missed you; I came to see you." She wrapped her little arms around me, and I kissed her cheek.
"I've missed you too, but you should be on your dream bed right now."
"You're more important than my dream bed," she smiled, and I shifted my attention to her mother.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
