Chapter 4 - chapter 4

"Daniel over here!. I shout, she kicks the ball over, and I start running. I start to dribble, pass one to my teammate she give me back, and I shoot for goal. I look up and saw it goes into the top corner of the net. I turn around to see Daniel, coming over to give me a high five.

"That was great."

"Yes, perfect pass thanks." I say breathlessly. She gives me a thumbs up.

"Okay, that's it for today!. The coach shouts. Daniel and I Walks towards our bags. I look at the bleachers to see Chloe sitting down, she's skipping again. I pack my bag the wave goodbye to Daniel. He walks off with one of our teammates, I walk up to Chloe with my hand over my eyes trying to shield my eyes from the sun.

"What are you doing here?" I ask harshly, Chloe opened her mouth but closed it back in fear again, she looks scared.

"Aren't you supposed to be in class at this hour?" I asks she was quiet.

"I-i she stops and starts walking away from me.

"Hey!" I yell and start running after her, damn she fast, I increase speed grabbed her bag to slow her down, she turns around.

"Let me go," she says and pushed me away, making my hand slip off her bag.

"You can't just skip classes anytime you want or feel like." I say to her, she was just looking at the ground, her eyes narrowed, I can't see her striking blue eyes. Her jaws looks like she's chewing, but am sure she's just clenching her teeth together. She looks up at me with a lost expression.

"Don't tell your dad," she begged. I sigh and pushed my hair away from my face.

"Damnit Chloe," you know I have to. She opens her mouth and was breathing in deep from her mouth and nose, she looks so filled with guilt it almost hurt to see her that way.

"Why did you skip?" I asked out of curiosity.

"I don't want to talk about it, can we just go home please." I nod okay, am not sure if it's the look in her eyes that makes me agree, or maybe am just tired of her making me go crazy.

"Yes, let's go." We walk to the car, then I drove us home.

"Do I really have to look after you everytime? I asked upset." Her head was down she just shook her head no as an answer.

You know the things you're doing will affect us both, we'll both get blamed at the end I hope you know. I say, I look at her again for response and she nod again yes.

"Don't tell him then she says," I just chuckled.

"He will find out eventually, the teachers will reach out to him when the hours is much." Then the yelling will get worse, I sigh and shook my head am surprised at her ignorance.

"You know what, you are trouble." I wrap my hands hard around the steering, I was looking at her from the corner of my eyes, she was shrinking into the car seat, I don't want to talk to her and I don't want to even look at her.

We walked into the house and I saw my dad sitting in the garden, I look behind, saw Chloe sitting on the couch still looking scared.

"Dad," he turned to look at me from where he was sitting.

"Yes, dad answers and takes off his sunglasses."

"I just want to let you know that Chloe skipped another class today." I say and rub my forehead, he raised his eyebrows and strands up. Dad looks into the living room, probably at Chloe who is sitting on the couch.

"Thank you Jason, am glad you're keeping an eye on her," he kissed my head and walked inside. I facepalm myself and walked inside too, maybe am doing her right, I looked at her. Dad was talking to her, he doesn't look scary, he was sitting on the edge, so calm. His hands were moving while he is talking to her, Chloe sits with her mouth closed she was scared like the ground should swallow her. Mom walks in with many bags, I went over to help her, dad was still talking to Chloe.

"Thanks darling," mom says, we both went to the kitchen to put the groceries in their place. The sound of talking was gone, I walked in but saw no one, I saw dad in the garden and with no sign of Chloe, she must have gone to her room.
