New World – Marine G-5 Base
"Hahaha! Not bad, kid—you haven't slacked off during training!"
Garp rubs his iron fists, as though itching for Atlas to feel his 'loving punches.'
"Thank you, Vice Admiral Garp, but I still have a long way to go," Atlas smiles, pretending not to notice Garp's enthusiastic knuckle rubbing.
"Settle down, Garp—cut the theatrics!" Vice Admiral Tsuru, observing Garp's antics, steps in. Among the assembled ranks, only she can reasonably keep him in check.
"Haha! I just wanted to give Atlas a little pointer in his training," Garp says, finally settling down with an embarrassed grin and scratching his head.
"Listen up. If you really want a match, go spar with Whitebeard," Tsuru announces the real reason for convening this group.
In this cramped office sit most of the New World's Marine leadership: Garp, Akainu, Vice Admiral Tsuru, Atlas, plus Tokikake and Gion—though Kaki and Gion are expected to join shortly.
"Whitebeard, huh…" Atlas's eyes light up—not out of reverence, but because Whitebeard is the man he aims to surpass one day.
Hit his peak now, and he's still the world's strongest even decades later.
"All right—gear up. Target: Whitebeard Pirates!" Akainu is brisk and resolute—the elimination of pirates is his priority, and he won't hesitate to set the pace.
– Moby Dick –
Whitebeard stands aboard his ship, wielding his massive Murakumogiri and draped in his iconic captain's cloak. His golden hair flows naturally.
Off the stern, a fleet of allied pirate ships follows.
"Hey, Garp—ready to test your fist on me today?" Whitebeard calls.
"Haha! You bet, old man! These iron fists are eager to throw down!" Garp replies, undeterred.
The two are old rivals—Garp pursued Roger far and wide in the Old Era, but his rate of clashes with Whitebeard is no less frequent.
"Hey, Whitebeard!" Atlas steps forward and calls loudly, turning all eyes aboard Whale City.
"Mmm?" Everyone aboard the Moby Dick turns, shocked to see a Marine—and such a bold one at that—shouting at their father figure.
"I'm Kanos Atlas! Remember this name—the one who'll one day take your throne as the world's strongest! Stay alive; don't die early!"
He holds nothing back, declaring his ambition under their glaring hostility.
"Hahaha! That's the spirit, Atlas!" Garp exults, proud at his protégé's boldness.
"Gulalalala~ Intriguing kid. You want my head? Then prove you can take it!" Whitebeard laughs deeply—far from anger, he's amused. After all… he is Whitebeard.
Suddenly, a tremendous aura erupts from him. For a split second, color drains from the world—blinding flashes of black and scarlet lightning fill the sky.
The shock deafens minds: the Marines stagger and drop like dominoes, overcome by the force of his Conqueror's Haki.
But Garp and Akainu remain unbowed—only Atlas bears the brunt. The pressure hits him squarely, and he knows this far outstrips Kaido's Haki.
A mere Conqueror's Haki won't bend me! Atlas's resolve flashes. He will not yield; today, he stakes his chance to challenge Whitebeard.
Crack!
A sudden shattering in his mind—an explosion of raw, intense aura floods through him. Atlas's own Conqueror's Haki awakens.
Instantly, storm clouds darken. His aura washes over everyone like a wave; Marines and pirates alike fall as if struck by fate's hammer.
Whitebeard's own Haki collides with Atlas's—but within seconds, he learns the Marine prodigy will not be easily suppressed.
"Hahaha! You're full of surprises, kid!" Garp's pupils dilate, then laughter erupts. This level of Haki is rare.
"Gulalalala~ Not bad, kiddo. There's more Marine blood here than I expected. Want to join me as a son?" Whitebeard, genuinely impressed, offers.
"Hey! Whitebeard, you're ignoring the rest of us, aren't ya?" Garp protests good-naturedly.
"Gura Gura – WHIRL!*" Whitebeard slams down his massive blade.
The crashing wave splits space like shattered glass; the sea roars and surges, aiming to swallow the Marine fleet whole.
Gulp…
A chill runs through the Marines aboard. Those who've never faced Whitebeard tremble, swallowing hard: "So… this is the strongest man in the world?"
Whispering among them: Whitebeard's Tremor Fruit is truly the apex of Paramecia—a weapon of natural disasters, unleashed with terrifying precision.
"Hahah…"
Tsuru stands firm. Raising a hand, she activates her Devil Fruit power.
The raging ocean calms, fragments of tsunami flattening into still, reflective glass. Marines cheer at their survival—and the power behind it.
"Haah… Survived a hundred-meter tsunami like it was nothing! That felt like a dream! An unmatched strategist, Vice Admiral Tsuru!" they exclaim.
Akainu steps forward: "Whitebeard—today someone's gotta die." He transforms his arms into molten magma fists, readying to barrage the Moby Dick.
Whitebeard remains atop the prow, unmoved.
Suddenly, Marco dives out—his phoenix-feather fists clash with Akainu's eruption. In the sky, red and blue fireworks bloom.
He looks back, smiling: "Can't let you harass our boss on your first move!"
"Gulalalala… magma-brained Marine kid—trying to blow out my candles?" Whitebeard jokes.
Akainu snorts and stands silent. All eyes turn to Garp, who leaps in.
"Laugh all you like, Whitebeard. But I won't be beaten today!" Garp uses Geppo to vault mid-throw, fist aimed at Whitebeard's head.
"Gulalalala… Now we're cooking, Garp!" Whitebeard readies Murakumogiri and engages Tremor Haki—his blade meets Garp's fist in a cliff-hanging clash.
BOOM BOOM!
The clash sends tremors through the sea. Waves barrel, impact roars—so intense that even peripheral onlookers edge away.
Meanwhile, Akainu is locked in combat with Marco and Vista. Marco's phoenix powers grant him sustained fight prowess—not yet at his peak, but formidable.
The Whitebeard Pirates have a noticeable skill drop-off beyond Marco's squad, but that gap is enough to hold off most Marine forces.
Whitebeard had already begun showing signs of decline. Aside from Marco and Diamond Jozu, the rest of his division commanders were a step below in strength.
At this stage, the Marines and the Whitebeard Pirates were evenly matched—neither side could gain the upper hand.
However, that balance would tip once Shuten and Kaki arrived. Kanos Atlas continued weaving through the battlefield, cutting down pirate after pirate.
Suddenly, his eyes locked onto a heavyset man engaged in a fierce battle with an ordinary Marine major.
A spark flashed in Atlas's eyes as he casually walked toward the target, Blackbeard.
"Hey! Marine brat! I've had my eyes on you for a while!" Just then, a tall, dark-skinned man with no eyebrows and an armored chest stepped in front of Atlas.
It was none other than Whitebeard's Third Division Commander—Diamond Jozu, the Shiny-Shiny Fruit user!
Atlas examined the towering figure before him, a serious expression appearing on his face. In terms of raw power, he was still slightly weaker than Jozu.
But with his talisman abilities at his side, he felt no fear. The more he relied on the talismans, the more he realized how shallow his understanding still was.
As his strength grew, the true power of the talismans began to emerge, much like the way they were wielded by the "Holy Lord" in legends.
It felt like the power within the talismans was slowly awakening inside him.
"Shining Crash!"
Seeing that Atlas gave no reply, Jozu's arms were instantly coated in gleaming diamond.
Under the sunlight, they radiated dazzling brilliance as he charged straight at Atlas like a cannonball!
"Tekkai: Armamen!"
Boom! The heavy impact echoed through the sky. Atlas clutched his slightly aching chest—he was hurt, but not seriously.
Thanks to the talisman of the horse, with its incredible healing properties, he could completely ignore such injuries.
"Not bad at all—you've got some fight in you if you dare to challenge Pops," Jozu muttered, narrowing his eyes at Atlas's unscathed form.
"Diamond Jozu, I've heard you're the quiet type. Why so chatty today?"
Jozu almost stumbled at those words. What? Quiet? Me? I'm just not a talker, that's all!
"Shut it! What nonsense is this brat spouting!?" Flustered and irritated, Jozu coated his diamond arm in Armament Haki and threw a punch at Atlas.
"You bastard! Taste the power of my diamond fists!"
"Hmph! Tekkai Kenpo: Armament – Smash!"
Atlas's blood surged, his Armament Haki hardening. He clashed directly with Jozu's massive diamond fist!
"That's it? Feels more like a massage!" Their fists locked midair, and they both braced for a contest of brute force. Atlas sneered as his arms swelled with power.
Ox Talisman – Super Strength!
Boom!
Jozu's massive body was sent flying, crashing into the deck of the Moby Dick with a thunderous impact, raising a thick cloud of dust.
But Atlas didn't expect that to be enough to hurt him—everyone knew: where there's smoke, there's no damage.
"No way… did he beat Commander Jozu?"
"Hey, hey, what the hell? That brat's too young for this!"
The pirates aboard the Moby Dick were visibly shaken. Just two exchanges and Jozu was sent flying? That was insane.
"Oi! What nonsense are you lot babbling? I wasn't defeated!"
Jozu stepped out of the dust cloud, his face dark—but then again, he was always dark-skinned.
The diamond coating his body remained pristine, completely unscathed. The pirates let out a collective sigh of relief.
"Shining Crash!"
"Tekkai: Armament – Tekizan!"
Boom!
Jozu's Shiny-Shiny Fruit gave him a diamond-hard body that didn't even need Haki for incredible defense.
If not for Atlas's massive Haki reserves, he might've been ground down in a war of attrition.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Fists flew like raindrops in a violent downpour as the two clashed head-on.
Jozu's raw durability made it nearly impossible for Atlas to break through, while Jozu couldn't counter Atlas's overwhelming Haki and his absurd regeneration.
It became a brutal slugfest between two human tanks, throwing defense to the wind and brawling with fists and feet.
"Gurararara… Not bad, kid! You're giving Jozu quite a workout!" Whitebeard, noticing the clash, chuckled in surprise.
"Galaxy!"
Garp's punch crashed in. "Hahahaha! Whitebeard, didn't anyone teach you not to let your guard down in a fight!?"
"Divide!"
Boom!
Whitebeard quickly raised Murakumogiri and blocked Garp's iron fist just in time, the force of the impact reverberating across the battlefield.
