Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 – The Edict of Fire

"All gods. One battlefield. One reaper."

---

The Battle Begins – Celestial Plane, Core Sanctuary

The Divine Unity descended as one—a god-fused avatar of law, war, time, judgment, and mercy, standing taller than continents and burning with the light of all faith. Its voice, a chorus of eternity, warped the very heavens with each syllable.

Jin stood alone at the heart of the Celestial Plane, cloaked in shadow, wreathed in flames not made of heat—but of hatred, malice, and unfiltered truth. His body pulsed with the awakened power of the Godslayer. He had no halo—only a crown of black thorns and screaming stars.

The fusion spoke:

> "You are a mistake." "We are the correction."

Jin cracked his neck.

> "Then let's test your resolve."

The world exploded.

Holy laws clashed with anti-existence. Planets burned like candles. The stars blinked out. Gods screamed through the Unity as their combined essence launched blade after celestial blade, rewriting reality with every strike.

But Jin didn't dodge.

He walked forward.

He spoke.

> "Break."

[Authority: Word of No Return – Active]

The blade shattered before reaching him.

The air screamed as reality warped.

The Unity struck again, conjuring seven divine laws and casting them as a net to erase Jin's very concept.

Jin raised one hand.

> "Kneel."

The Unity staggered, knees slamming to the divine floor, sending tremors through the entire Tower. Still it fought.

It created a sun of pure order, hurled it like a spear.

Jin caught it.

And consumed it.

> "You don't get to burn me. I am the fire."

He spread his arms and unleashed Void Genesis, turning the battlefield into a domain of inverted law.

Time reversed. Gravity betrayed. Cause and effect unbound.

Miracles twisted into curses. Blessings turned to rot.

The Divine Unity screamed as its form destabilized. Wings tore from its spine in reverse. Eyes bled backward.

Still it fought.

It summoned the Pillar of Existence—a weapon forged from the belief of a trillion worshippers.

Jin stared at it.

> "You dare use faith against me?"

He pulled out his own rib. It became a scythe of oblivion.

> "Let me return the favor."

He cleaved through the Pillar like it was mist.

The Unity launched a chain of commandments, binding Jin to oaths of stillness.

Jin let them wrap around him—then whispered:

> "Obedience is for the dead."

The chains shattered.

He surged forward.

One punch cratered the heavens. Another severed three voices from the chorus.

The Unity roared.

> "You defy the will of all creation!"

> "I am the will of destruction."

He drove both hands into its chest and ripped. He tore gods apart—by name, by memory, by myth. Each scream was the death of a prayer. Each death, the fall of a kingdom.

The Unity fought to the last.

It stabbed Jin through the heart with a blade of divine time.

He laughed, ripped it out, and plunged it back into the Unity's throat.

> "You should've killed me before I hated you."

And with that, he crushed the fused heart of the pantheon.

Each god within it screamed individually.

Then Jin squeezed.

And the Divine Unity ceased.

The skies turned black.

Silence reigned.

Until a new voice echoed—not from the sky, but from the void beneath reality.

Low. Ancient. Familiar.

> "So... you've done it." "You've broken the world."

Jin turned.

From the abyss, a shape emerged—massive, endless, shifting between limbs, shadows, and cosmic horror. Eyes that wept galaxies. Mouths that spoke in reverse.

The Ancient Evil God.

Jin's benefactor. His curse. His maker.

They stood face to face.

> "You promised me a world without gods," the being said.

Jin stared into its shifting mass.

> "I did more than promise."

He stepped forward.

> "Now I want your throne."
