Chapter 75 - Chapter 74: Instructions for the Sanctuary, the Ark, and the Lampstand

There, the Lord said to Moses , "Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering, received from everyone whose heart willingly prompts them. These are the gifts you are to collect: gold, silver, bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; ram skins dyed red, hides of sea cows, and acacia wood; olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and fragrant incense; onyx stones and other gems for the ephod and the breastpiece.

Have them make a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. Build the tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you."

The Lord instructed: "Make an ark of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. Overlay it with pure gold inside and out, and make a gold molding around it. Cast four gold rings and attach them to its feet, two on each side. Make poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold, and insert them into the rings for carrying the ark. The poles are to remain there and must not be removed. Place inside the ark the Testimony I will give you.

Make an atonement cover of pure gold, with two cherubim of hammered gold, one at each end, forming one piece with the cover. Their wings are to be spread upward, overshadowing the cover, and they are to face each other, looking toward it. Place the cover on top of the ark, with the Testimony inside. There, between the cherubim, I will meet with you and give you My commands for Israel."

The Lord also commanded: "Make a table of acacia wood—two cubits long, one cubit wide, and one and a half cubits high. Overlay it with pure gold, with a gold molding around it. Make a rim a handbreadth wide with gold molding, and fasten four gold rings to the corners near the legs for the poles to carry it. The poles shall be of acacia wood, overlaid with gold. Make its plates, dishes, pitchers, and bowls of pure gold, and place the bread of the Presence before Me continually."

Then He said: "Make a lampstand of pure gold, hammered out with base and shaft, with flowerlike cups, buds, and blossoms all of one piece. Six branches shall extend from its sides, three on each side, with three cups shaped like almond flowers on each branch. On the lampstand itself there shall be four cups, shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms. A bud shall be under each pair of branches, six in all. The buds, branches, and lampstand must be of one piece, hammered from pure gold.

Make seven lamps and set them on it to give light in front of it. Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold. A talent of pure gold shall be used for the lampstand and all its accessories. Be sure to make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."
