The Lord continued with His instructions. He said to Moses, "Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits high. It must be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide. At its four corners make horns, all of one piece with the altar, and overlay it with bronze. Make all its utensils of bronze—the pots for removing ashes, the shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks, and firepans.
Make a grating, a network of bronze, with a bronze ring at each of its four corners. Place it under the ledge of the altar so that it reaches halfway up. Make poles of acacia wood, overlay them with bronze, and insert them into the rings on the two sides of the altar for carrying. Construct the altar hollow, out of boards, just as I showed you on the mountain.
Make a courtyard for the Tabernacle. On the south side, the curtains must be one hundred cubits long, made of finely twisted linen, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, and silver hooks and bands for the posts. On the north side also one hundred cubits, with twenty posts and twenty bronze bases, silver hooks, and bands. On the west end, the courtyard will be fifty cubits wide, with ten posts and ten bases. On the east end, toward the sunrise, it too shall be fifty cubits wide.
Curtains, fifteen cubits long, are to be on one side of the entrance, with three posts and three bases. They are also to be on the other side, with three posts and three bases. For the entrance itself, provide a curtain twenty cubits long, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer. It will hang with four posts and four bases. All the posts of the courtyard must have silver bands and hooks, with bronze bases. The courtyard will be one hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, with curtains of finely twisted linen five cubits high, and all its bases of bronze. Every article used for service in the Tabernacle, including all its tent pegs and those of the courtyard, must be of bronze."
The Lord also commanded Moses, "Tell the Israelites to bring clear oil of pressed olives, so the lamps may be kept burning. In the Tent of Meeting, outside the curtain that shields the Ark of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before Me from evening until morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come."
