From a young age John knew that he was different. He wasn't a super genius, a talented athlete or anything like that but John had something most people his age didn't. A burning desire for knowledge. From the moment he opened a book, John was enraptured. Nothing else mattered, friendships with his fellows? He'd rather read a book. Playing with toys? More like reading another book. While other kids his age were fooling around being carefree, John was reading, learning, and absorbing knowledge. However, although he was much more knowledgeable than his peers, John was not a genius. At a young age he had come to understand that he was merely more diligent but not a genius. In order to learn the things he wished to learn he would have to put in the work.
With this train of thought, John continued his life with relative success. He had no friends, and was always focused on learning, but never suffered from bullying or anything similar. However after starting high school, John realized something important. Sometimes the knowledge that he seeked was held by other people, and he needed to learn how to effectively communicate with them and get that knowledge out. In fact John realized that the art of communication in itself was knowledge. Suddenly discovering this new branch of knowledge, John became once again enraptured. After one year, John had mastered the basics of communication, and was able to make good friends with his teachers and be able to extract knowledge from them. He had gone from the one weird student who kept asking annoying questions, to a model student who was diligent with his studies.
For the next decade of his life, John continued on his journey and with the help of his knowledge he managed to make many advancements in the scientific field and gain recognition. Of course, the only reason John became famous was to be able to connect with other fellow scientists and extract more knowledge. Moving steadily along his career path, John was set to become one of the brightest stars in the field until the day he went to accept his second award.
"Hmmm, the usage of mathematical functions in describing the possibility of finding electrons in areas around the nucleus is certainly an interesting field, maybe I should learn more," thought John as he got onto the car. Nowadays, he was exposed to many advanced level subjects, and sadly with his limited prowess he couldn't learn them all, which is why he chose to focus on one field and explore the others as a hobby.
While musing over the effects of nodal surfaces on the properties and interactions of orbitals, John suddenly spotted a truck moving quickly with no signs of stopping in his peripheral vision. Quickly evading it, John barely made it as the truck sped past him and ran the red light. Sighing in relief, John just was about to continue driving when he heard a gunshot and felt a sharp pain in his head. "Looks like there was an assassination planned for me. I guess I won't be able to pursue more knowledge..." thought John unwillingly.
As John's organs slowly died from a lack of oxygen, his brain signal died out, signifying the end of John's journey on Earth...
