Chapter 115: Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Yu Xiaogang
Outside the gates of Nuoding City's Soul Master Academy.
After a month-long journey, Tang San finally arrived by carriage.
"Uncle Tang Di, you can head back. I can manage on my own."
Tang San was anxious for Tang Di to leave quickly—he was about to find Xiao Wu and then seek out his former teacher, the great master Yu Xiaogang. With Yu Xiaogang's unmatched theories and intellect, he'd surely recognize his twin martial souls. If Tang Di discovered it, he'd drag Tang San straight back to the Clear Sky Sect.
Tang Di nodded silently and left without a word. As a member of the Tang Clan, he had only escorted Tang San out of obligation to Tang Xiao. He had no interest in spending another moment with this outsider who didn't even inherit the Clear Sky Hammer.
Tang Xiao had asked him to help Tang San obtain his first soul ring, but since Tang San wanted him gone, he had no reason to stay. In this low-level soul master academy, the teachers and principal could help him get his first and even second soul ring easily.
What if his first ring was only a ten-year soul ring? So what? He wasn't really a Tang. If he died, that wasn't Tang Di's problem.
"What are you doing here? This isn't a place for some scruffy brat! Get lost!"
The guard at the gate waved his hand dismissively, treating Tang San like an annoying pest.
Though the Clear Sky Sect was the number one sect on the continent, their attire was plain and durable. Tang San looked no different from an ordinary town kid.
Tang San recognized the guard from his memories. He didn't like him, but still politely said, "Uncle, I'm here to enroll in Nuoding Academy."
"Enroll? That deadline passed ages ago. I've seen plenty of brats like you—dreaming of becoming soul masters. At least come up with a better excuse!"
"Now beat it! Don't get in the way!"
This guy hadn't changed one bit.
From the Tang Sect's Xuantian Record: Rule #3—If the opponent is an enemy and shows signs of seeking death, show no mercy. Otherwise, you'll only create trouble for yourself.
Tang San narrowed his eyes. Blue light flickered as Xuantian energy surged into his palm. He struck out with a slap. The guard had no time to react and was sent flying, crashing into the iron gate with a loud clang before falling to the ground.
"You brat!"
The guard shouted, trying to get up, only to feel a foot press down on his wrist. A cold voice echoed.
"That was a warning. Open the gate, or you lose your hand."
Tang San's past life had made him a ruthless combatant. Disabling someone was easy.
The guard saw his icy stare and shakily got up to open the gate.
But once the gate opened, he bolted toward the academy, yelling, "You're dead, brat! I'm calling someone to deal with you!"
"Pathetic."
Tang San sneered. Another coward who bullied the weak and clung to authority.
He quickly scanned the familiar surroundings and used Ghost Shadow Perplexing Step to make his way toward Dorm Seven, heart pounding in anticipation.
"Xiao Wu, my Xiao Wu… are you here? We're finally meeting again!"
Inside Dorm Seven.
Xiao Wu—adorably beautiful in her god-given form—sat on her bed, resting her chin on her hands. Her face was filled with worry.
She had, of course, easily taken over from Xiao Chenyu and become the dorm's boss. As a working student, she did none of the chores—her "little brothers" handled everything.
But she wasn't happy. Her most important person—Third Brother—wasn't here!
What's the point of being the boss? What's the point of training, or having fun? Without him, life was meaningless. Each day at Nuoding was agony. She missed him constantly.
If this went on, she might end up like the tale of the Lovesick Red—coughing up blood from heartbreak.
"Xiao Wu!"
The dorm door burst open. Tang San called out, his voice trembling with excitement.
She turned and locked eyes with him. Though his appearance and voice had changed, those eyes—full of endless emotion—were unmistakable.
Just one look, just one name, and Xiao Wu recognized him.
Tears welled in her eyes. "Third… Brother?"
"Xiao Wu!"
"Third Brother!"
"Xiao Wu!"
After six years apart, they hugged tightly, pouring out their emotions.
"I missed you so much. When I realized you weren't here, I was so scared… I thought I was the only one reborn. I couldn't bear the thought of living this life without you."
Tang San wiped her tears gently. "Silly girl. No matter how many years pass or how many lives I live, I'll always love only you."
"Brother… you're so ugly now."
Tang San chuckled bitterly. He didn't look as good as when he awakened the Blue Silver Emperor in his last life, but he was still better-looking than six-year-old him in Saint Soul Village.
"But no matter what you look like, in my eyes, you're always the most handsome."
Her words made him grin ear to ear. He even wanted to kiss her.
"You've changed a little, haven't you?"
Xiao Wu twirled in place. Her long scorpion braid swung behind her. "Am I cute? I shaped this body after my divine form!"
"That explains it… I'm a lucky man."
Tang San finally felt the perks of rebirth. Xiao Wu was stunning. When she grew up, she'd be the most beautiful woman on the continent—and she was his wife!
"Have you seen Master yet? Let's go find him!"
"Not yet. I came straight to you."
"Then let's go!"
She grabbed his hand, and the two walked off to find the master.
Along the way, Nuoding students watched in disbelief as their dorm boss, their goddess, Xiao Wu, walked hand-in-hand with a boy they didn't recognize. They looked far too close. Hearts shattered across the campus.
Yu Xiaogang's room was in the corner of the dorm's top floor. It was small—only 30 square meters. Two walls were lined with bookshelves filled with soul theory texts.
At his desk, he read with despair. He didn't understand why no one respected the theories he had spent decades crafting. The noble clans called them clownish nonsense.
He had hoped publishing his Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls would earn him fame. Instead, he was met with ridicule, insults, and humiliation.
Worst of all—his own clan, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, had erased his name from the family registry.
Why had the heavens treated him so cruelly?
Knock, knock.
He composed himself. "Come in."
"Master."
"Oh, Xiao Wu. What brings you here?"
His stiff face softened. Xiao Wu was the only one in the entire academy—perhaps the entire soul master world—who truly called him "Master" without sarcasm.
Tang San entered and bowed. "Master, I wish to become your disciple."
"Oh? What's your name? What's your martial soul and innate soul power?"
He had standards for students. So far, only Xiao Wu had impressed him.
"My name is Tang San. Martial soul: Blue Silver Grass. Innate full soul power."
Blue Silver Grass? He was about to refuse—until he heard "innate full soul power." His eyes burned with excitement.
He'd struck gold!
How could a waste martial soul have full soul power? This boy had to be a twin soul user!
The third twin martial soul in history!
