Chapter 123: A God King Does Not Need to Care About Others' Opinions

Above the endless sea.

A massive palace over a hundred meters tall, entirely ocean-blue, stood towering. It was roughly the same size as the Rakshasa God Temple. The structure was majestic, over a thousand meters in length and width, and at least two hundred meters tall, enveloped in a faint blue glow.

Despite its size, the palace was exquisitely designed. From afar, it shimmered with blue-golden radiance. In contrast, the Rakshasa Temple appeared eerie and sinister, with ghostly winds howling around it.

Inside the Sea God Temple, thirty-six colossal pillars lined each side, supporting the roof. A central passage, three hundred meters wide, led directly to the rear of the hall. At the end of the passage was a chair, and on that chair sat a man.

This man appeared no different from a human. He wore a white robe trimmed with gold, and on his head was a circular trident-shaped crown. In its center, a sea-blue gemstone was embedded. His face was not handsome but carried a dignified presence. His eyes were calm with a hint of severity, and long ocean-blue hair flowed down his back.

This was none other than Poseidon, the Sea God.

Feeling a familiar divine fluctuation, Poseidon slowly opened eyes that had been closed for who knows how long.

"A rare guest—Rakshasa God, what brings you to me today?"

"Sea God, I have a favor to ask of you."

Poseidon's lips curved into a slight smirk. "Never thought the renowned Rakshasa God—who doesn't even fear the Shura God—would one day come asking me for help. Still, Rakshasa, please cover your face. It'll make this conversation easier."

Veins bulged on the Rakshasa God's forehead. Though Poseidon hadn't used a single curse word, his words still cut like a knife. She wasn't unafraid of Shura. In fact, she feared him the most—like a mouse before a cat. That's why she only dared act in secret.

The Rakshasa God took a few deep breaths. Her divine power surged, masking her grotesque face and revealing only her purple eyes.

Seeing this, Poseidon nodded, having achieved his goal of discomforting her, and got straight to the point. "So, what do you want from me?"

"I want you to help me create a dual inheritance—Rakshasa and Sea God—within one successor!"

At that, Poseidon stared at her like she was mad. "Rakshasa, have you lost your mind? Why would I allow my divine seat to coexist with yours?"

He honestly wondered if she had a screw loose. Why should he help this primordial god of darkness and sour his relationships with the other divine beings?

"Because my successor has the potential to rival the Shura God. And she is already on your Sea God Island."

Poseidon's expression remained unchanged, but his gaze turned toward Sea God Island. Sure enough, there was a woman radiating dark, Rakshasa-like energy, walking toward the Sea God pillars under the guidance of the island's soul masters.

This woman could indeed surpass the Rakshasa God someday—but rival the Shura God? Ridiculous. The gap between a first-tier god and a God King was astronomical.

Bibi Dong wasn't enough—yet.

However, she might one day surpass even Poseidon himself, becoming the strongest beneath the God Kings.

The Rakshasa God chuckled. "Sea God, others may not know your true ambitions, but I, the goddess of evil thoughts, do. You crave the continent's faith so that your divine seat can become the sixth God King."

Poseidon snorted coldly. "Nonsense. The continent's faith belongs to the Angel God. Why would I covet it?"

"Please. No need to act in front of me. You left tricks in the Angel Temple. Others may not notice—but you think I wouldn't? My divine nature directly opposes the Angel God. I sense her divine power clearly."

Poseidon was momentarily speechless. He had done everything in secret, undetectable even to other God Kings. Yet the Rakshasa God had still discovered it.

It was true—he had long coveted the continent's faith. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left the Sea God's Heart behind, waiting for a gifted individual to claim it by blood.

Once he gathered enough faith, his divine seat could indeed evolve into that of a God King—the sixth of the divine realm.

Currently, almost no one on the continent believed in the Angel God, not even in her own inheritance ground, Spirit Hall. Her name was nearly forgotten.

The Angel God had held power without doing anything productive. The continent's faith needed a new master.

The Rakshasa God's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Relax. You know I hate that Angel God the most. The worse off her clan is—even if they're all dead—the happier I'll be. But I must say, I didn't expect this side of you, Sea God."

"Lonely for so long in the divine realm, have you become addicted to live broadcasts? Watching the Angel God's successor live is quite entertaining, isn't it? I may hate that idiot, but I admit, her charm is exceptional even in the divine realm."

Poseidon fell silent again, even avoiding eye contact. He had been single for a thousand years in the mortal world, and still single in the divine realm. No wife, nothing to do in the Sea God Temple...

With the strict rules of the divine realm, what could a lonely man do? It's only natural he developed odd habits—watching beauties, skimming short clips, even... videos.

But god-tier videos? He hadn't dared to cross that line—yet.

"Drop the act, Poseidon. You left the Deep Sea Demon Whale King on the continent for what? You know the answer. Work with me, and you'll become the sixth God King."

"A God King doesn't need to care about anyone's opinion."

With that, the Rakshasa God vanished from the Sea God Temple.

Poseidon pondered briefly before coming up with a strategy to maximize his gain: grant Bibi Dong the Sea God Six Trials. Without the Sea God's Heart, she couldn't complete the final three trials.

That way, he would give a gesture of goodwill to the Rakshasa God without worsening his relationship with the Shura God. If Bibi Dong did prove worthy of God King status in the future, there would still be time to reconsider.

As someone who had unified countless marine races and earned their devotion for thousands of years, Poseidon had his methods.

As the saying goes: without demons, disasters, and misfortune, who would worship the gods?

The Angel God was hopelessly foolish—she quelled the soul beast and evil soul master uprisings, earned the continent's faith to become a god, but didn't know how to maintain that faith. No political skill, just mindless fighting. Now, barely anyone even remembers her name.

She even used Slaughter City to gather fallen soul masters—but that was the Shura God's domain!

And what's with "Angel's Judgment"? A first-tier god trying to pass judgment? Her authority clashed with too many others. She wasn't a God King, lacked subtlety, and failed to build connections—truly laughable.

If Poseidon had run Spirit Hall—and if Slaughter City hadn't been the Shura God's legacy—he would've destroyed it, letting the evil soul masters wreak havoc. Then Spirit Hall's soul masters could "quell the chaos," spreading the Sea God's name and growing faith.

That's why he kept the Deep Sea Demon Whale King around—as a symbol of chaos and terror. He even blinded one of its eyes to show the entire ocean the power of Poseidon.

As long as the whale remained, and the Sea God's sacred pillars continued testing soul masters, the sea tribes would remember Poseidon.

So long as they feared the whale and prayed for peace, their gratitude would flow toward Poseidon, and so would the faith fueling his divine seat.

Without sacrificing a single soldier from Sea God Island, he could harvest endless belief from the sea.

Compared to the idiotic Angel God—wasting time, people, and resources, only to gain no faith—she was beyond saving.

Poseidon sighed softly. "In the end, it's still a matter of power. If Bibi Dong wasn't a threat, I wouldn't have to give her this face."

"Only a God King doesn't need to care about others' opinions."
