Chapter 247: Dai Mubai Ran Again, Zhu Zhuqing Cried
Shhk shhk shhk!
A series of bone spikes erupted, completely shredding Yu Xiaogang's corpse into fragments. Not even a complete body remained—just a bloody mess, torn flesh, and a tattered black-and-white academic robe left on the ground.
"Everyone, don't be misled by Yu Xiaogang's nonsense. My Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan treats soul masters and civilians kindly and has a widely recognized reputation for virtue. We could never do what he accused us of! These were slanderous lies from a despicable traitor!"
Ning Fengzhi spoke calmly, restoring his usual scholarly and composed demeanor. Though his voice wasn't loud, soul power carried it clearly to every ear.
Among the soul masters present, some older ones who had known Bibi Dong in her youth couldn't help but glance toward Ning Rongrong's flawless, delicate features again and again.
Spirit Hall's law enforcement squad arrived—half to clean up Yu Xiaogang's remains, half to tally the damage done to Spirit City and demand reparations from Tang Xiao.
Tang Xiao was furious. "Why does my Clear Sky Sect have to pay all the damages?! That old dragon from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan fought too—why target us only?!"
The red-robed bishop replied quietly, "His Holiness said, the side who started the fight pays. We're just following orders, Lord Haotian."
At the mention of Qian Xunji, Tang Xiao gritted his teeth and threw out a gold soul coin card. "That should cover it. Send the balance to my hotel."
Tang Xiao, Tang Hao, Ning Fengzhi, and Bone Douluo left. Yu Xiaogang's remains were also taken away to be returned to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan—at least a courtesy to Yu Yuanzhen, their patriarch.
Though the scene dispersed, the soul masters of Spirit City stood in stunned silence. The duel between Haotian Douluo and Thunderclap Douluo, Yu Xiaogang's confession about sabotaging Tang San's cultivation, the truth about the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Bibi Dong… every revelation had been more earth-shattering than the last.
"Yu Xiaogang's final move—burning all bridges with that outrageous monologue—was insane. He's now one of history's most controversial figures."
History is written by the victors, but only those who lived through it know the truth. And when that generation dies, even if the records survive, Yu Xiaogang's name will remain one of the most debated in the land. Some will always try to redeem it.
His detractors see him as a joke—arrogant, self-important, utterly useless, ruining everything he touched.
His supporters say he was a misunderstood genius—an abandoned soul who endured humiliation in silence, never giving in, never giving up.
They argue convincingly: Why would he sincerely teach the son of the man who nearly killed him? Of course he would sabotage Tang San.
And even in that era, Spirit Hall's Pope had elevated Blue Silver Grass to the Titled Douluo level. That precedent existed. Yet Yu Xiaogang deliberately taught the opposite. If not sabotage, what else?
Every time his name comes up, the debate flares anew—sometimes across hundreds of discussion forums.
But one thing is certain: Yu Xiaogang, with his mere rank-29 soul power, nearly destroyed the most gifted heir of the Clear Sky Sect—Tang San, a twin spirit, innate full soul power prodigy.
He also exposed and sullied the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's reputation, making them a permanent stain in history.
He broke the bond between the Three Great Clans.
A beam of crimson light soared into the sky. After several hours, Qian Renxue finally finished absorbing the Titan Giant Ape's eighth ring—a 100,000-year soul ring—boosting her by two whole levels. Combined with two and a half years of saved-up power, her level reached 86. In less than three years, she'd hit level 90, fully awaken her Six-Winged Angel, and begin the Angel God Trials.
Qian Xunji began thinking. If she started her divine trial in three years and it took 108 days of prayers, that'd mean about three and a half years. He'd be one of the examiners and could raise the difficulty to stall her progress—giving Qian Renchuan time to catch up.
But where would he get Qian Renxue's ninth ring? Her eighth was already 100,000 years—so the ninth must be too.
"Mmm~"
Qian Renxue opened her eyes. The surge of energy nearly doubled her power level. She moaned in satisfaction.
She noticed someone on the city wall protecting her and blushed. To cover the awkwardness, she quickly said, "Father, Mother—I've finished absorbing the ring."
Qian Xunji nodded. "Let's see what bone dropped from the Titan Giant Ape?"
Qian Renxue flew to the massive corpse. Her gaze locked onto the still-glowing right arm. She summoned it—a crystal-clear, earth-yellow soul bone: the 100,000-year Titan Giant Ape Right Arm Bone.
It made sense. Her current angel soul bones included everything but the right arm (which was held by Qian Daoliu as the Heaven Judgment Sword) and the torso (only available upon reaching level 100). A 50/50 chance—this drop was perfect.
Back at the inn…
Amid the ongoing bustle, various academy teams were preparing to leave Spirit City.
The Heaven Dou First and Second Teams, symbols of the empire, would return under royal escort—alongside the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.
While the Second Team packed up, two figures arrived at their rest area.
One was a golden-haired man with a lazy smile and regal demeanor. The other was a tall, voluptuous woman with porcelain skin and beauty equal to Zhu Zhuqing. Their faces even resembled each other.
They were, of course, Davis and Zhu Zhuyun.
They greeted everyone politely before turning to Zhu Zhuqing.
Her expression went cold at their arrival, though she wasn't surprised.
Zhu Zhuyun smiled. "Zhuqing, are you ready to come home?"
Davis added, "Where's my foolish little brother? I came all this way to fetch him, and he won't even come out?"
He knocked on Dai Mubai's door. No answer.
He jiggled the handle—locked.
Frowning, he kicked the door open.
The room was empty. Everything had been packed. The window was open and unlocked.
"Heh. Looks like my cowardly little brother ran away again," Davis sneered, then turned to Zhu Zhuqing with mock sympathy. "Poor Zhuqing. He left you all alone. Again."
