Chapter 250: The Hao Tian Sect Gangs Up on Ma Hongjun
"Xiaochuan, I'm giving you the most precious thing I have now. You must come back alive. Otherwise, I'll be alone for the rest of my life."
With a flip, Shui Bing'er pressed herself on top of Qian Renchuan, her icy-blue hair falling over his face. Though the interior of the carriage was pitch-black, to Qian Renchuan—whose spirit power had reached the level of a Titled Douluo and whose Purple Demon Eye had been cultivated to its peak—it was no different from broad daylight.
He could clearly see Shui Bing'er's delicate white face blushing deeply. Her lips gently bit her lower lip, as if she had made up her mind.
"Idiot, I already told you I'd come back alive! You don't have to—"
Before Qian Renchuan could finish his sentence, a pair of soft, cool lips silenced him. Soon, he too lost his rationality. His body, full of life force, secreted a surge of hormones as she devoured him.
Not knowing the intricacies of intimacy, Qian Renchuan was clueless about the female body. Shui Bing'er couldn't help but laugh at him, making his face flush red. In the end, she took the lead, her hands on his shoulders, guiding him, and he gave her everything.
Hao Tian Sect
"Xiangxiang! Xiangxiang!"
"You damned fatty, aren't you being annoying? My name is Bai Chenxiang, and who the hell said you could call me Xiangxiang like we're close?"
Dressed in a tight-fitting purple outfit, Bai Chenxiang stood tall and slim, stunningly beautiful. Her expression was cold and full of disdain as she glared at Ma Hongjun.
As a member of the Min Clan—one of the four great auxiliary clans of the Hao Tian Sect—she normally would wear the sect's official uniform. But Bai Chenxiang was different. She was the granddaughter of Bai He, the Min Clan's leader, and her aunt was the mother of the current Hao Tian Sect Master. Plus, as the acknowledged beauty of the Hao Tian Sect, she had special privileges to wear what she pleased.
Countless suitors pursued Bai Chenxiang, including Hao Tian Sect's top disciples Tang Long and Tang Hu. With her outstanding talent—considered the Min Clan's greatest genius in a century—she was expected to become a future Titled Douluo. Naturally, she was extremely proud.
Ma Hongjun, despite being talented and having reached level 37 at fourteen, was nothing special in the Hao Tian Sect. Fat, round like a ball, and possessing an Evil Fire Phoenix martial soul, how could someone like Bai Chenxiang ever fall for him?
"Ah!!"
Ma Hongjun screamed as he was kicked flying by a burly man in Hao Tian Sect robes. He rolled several times on the ground, coughing violently.
The kicker was Tang Hu—one of Bai Chenxiang's admirers and a prominent third-generation elite of the Hao Tian Sect. Fueled by Qian Xunji's schemes, intense internal strife had broken out in the sect between the master's faction and the elders' faction.
While the elder faction had more Titled Douluo on paper, the master's faction had strong backing from the four auxiliary clans—including the Min Clan. Tang Hu was ordered to court Bai Chenxiang in hopes of drawing the Min Clan fully into the elders' faction.
Tang Hu approached Bai Chenxiang like a gentleman and gave a polite nod before turning to Ma Hongjun, who was still groaning on the ground.
"I heard there was some deluded fatass pestering Xiangxiang. You toad—how dare you dream of eating swan meat? If I hear about it again, I'll do more than kick you."
Ma Hongjun ignored him, clutching his stomach, tears forming in his eyes. He looked toward Bai Chenxiang—his wife in a past life—and whispered emotionally, "Xiangxiang… don't you remember me? I'm Hongjun… your husband. The phoenix who became a god but lost his swallow, lost his soul..."
"Shut up, you fat bastard! Whose husband are you!?"
Tang Hu narrowed his eyes and signaled his followers. A dozen sect disciples rushed forward and began beating Ma Hongjun without mercy.
"Let's go, Xiangxiang. Don't bother with this disgusting daydreamer," Tang Hu said softly, walking off with Bai Chenxiang, their shoulders practically touching.
Lying on the ground, bloodied and shielding his face, Ma Hongjun murmured her name again and again.
His teacher Flender was beaten to a pulp by Spirit Hall, Xiao Wu had sacrificed herself, his strength was lacking, and now Bai Chenxiang didn't recognize him. Everything had gone wrong.
"Ahhhhh!!"
With a scream of despair, a wave of searing flames erupted from Ma Hongjun, forcing his attackers to retreat. His eyes burned with purple light. Dark flames surged around him—a black phoenix rose from the ashes.
Unlike the red flames of the Evil Fire Phoenix, this one was ink-black and terrifying. Smaller than before, but with an aura that reeked of madness and despair.
Even his once-red hair had turned black.
In his grief, rage, and helplessness, Ma Hongjun's martial soul completely fell to darkness.
He had become... the Black Phoenix.
