Chapter 252: The Arrival of Sea God Island Titled Douluo, Qian Xunji Begins to Deceive Again
Spirit Hall.
After returning from the Slaughter City, Qian Xunji ordered the lower ranks of Spirit City to widely publicize everything that had occurred there—the affairs concerning Ning Fengzhi, Bone Douluo, Yu Xiaogang, and Bibi Dong—ensuring that word would spread to every city on the continent and eventually reach Bibi Dong, wherever she might be hiding.
Qian Xunji simply didn't believe that Bibi Dong, a pampered young lady who'd lived her whole life having food brought to her, would be living off wild beasts in the forest or surviving on rough grain in some peasant village. Not to mention, after the intense battle, her body was likely riddled with residual angelic soul power and divine essence.
He speculated that Bibi Dong was probably hiding in some remote town, having bought a house and hired servants to take care of her while she recuperated. After all, she wouldn't be short on money after fleeing from Sea God Island. And every city had a Spirit Hall branch.
"Your Holiness, two titled Douluo claiming to be from Sea God Island are requesting an audience. They say their High Priest is a friend of the Grand Priest," Chrysanthemum Douluo reported, visibly flustered. Matters involving the Grand Priest were not to be taken lightly.
Due to Qian Xunji's early intervention in this timeline, Sea God Island and Spirit Hall had yet to clash, so few people in Spirit Hall knew much about it.
"Let them in," Qian Xunji said calmly, closing his eyes and activating his Seven Apertures Exquisite Heart, contemplating how best to spin the story without straying too far from the truth. After all, nothing delighted him more than orchestrating schemes and drama.
Soon, two black-robed men who had passed the black-level trials of Sea God Island entered. One was tall, with long sea-blue hair and deep blue eyes like ocean pools. The other looked to be around fifty, lean and rather handsome.
The two were visibly surprised at the sight of Qian Xunji. Though the man didn't emit a hint of soul power and wore a serene smile, his presence reminded them of the High Priest himself.
"Sea Horse Douluo."
"Sea Illusion Douluo."
"Greetings, Your Holiness." ×2
Qian Xunji nodded slightly. "I know why you've come—for the two titled Douluo who perished on the continent, correct?"
Sea Horse and Sea Illusion exchanged glances. Indeed, that was why they had come. Each titled Douluo was an irreplaceable powerhouse, and their deaths surely would have caused a great stir. With Spirit Hall's presence spread across the continent, they were best positioned to uncover what had happened.
"Do you know what occurred, Your Holiness?" Sea Horse Douluo asked.
Qian Xunji sighed and explained smoothly, "I was in Spirit Hall, preparing for the Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament, when I sensed an extremely evil aura from the Star Dou Forest—one that felt like the nemesis of my Six-Winged Angel Spirit. When I arrived, I saw the two Douluo slain by Bibi Dong."
"This can't be!" the two cried out in disbelief.
The explanation made sense up until the last part. The Rakshasa Spirit was indeed the opposite of the Angel Spirit, but Bibi Dong killing Sea Dragon and Sea Lance Douluo? Impossible! She was to be the next Sea God and their superior. Even if she could withstand their joint assault for a stick of incense's time, she was still a Spirit Douluo. They hadn't even used killing moves.
"I understand your doubt," Qian Xunji said, taking out his soul tool. He floated six glimmering bones toward them—four soul bones and two regular bones. "These were retrieved during my battle with Bibi Dong. The soul bones belonged to the two Douluo. Their corpses were shattered, and I only managed to collect these."
"If High Priest Bo Saixi comes to investigate, I will, of course, hand these over. I didn't expect them to send you two instead."
The two Sea God Island Douluo examined the bones. The residual energy was indeed of Spirit Douluo or higher level. More importantly, the aura of the Rakshasa Spirit was unmistakable—one they were intimately familiar with after witnessing Bibi Dong's berserker episodes.
Their expressions turned grim.
"I still can't understand why she would kill them. She was supposed to be Sea God's heir," Sea Horse Douluo said.
Qian Xunji replied, "When I fought her, she had already broken through to level 96. Her spirit ring configuration was one red, three black, one red. Perhaps the energy from a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring helped her achieve that breakthrough."
"As for motive... if I had to guess, it might be that the energy from the hundred-thousand-year ring shattered her clothing."
He paused deliberately.
"Are you aware of what she's been through?"
Sea Illusion Douluo's expression darkened with rage. "So that's it... Bibi Dong... how dare she!"
As a Titled Douluo, he had pride. If it weren't for Bo Saixi, he'd never have tolerated Bibi Dong attacking him repeatedly. He'd only endured it because he was moved by her tragic story, which Bo Saixi had shared. But now? Killing Sea Dragon and Sea Lance like that, and escaping with just enough power to flee from Qian Xunji?
Everything added up—and so did his fury.
