Chapter 97 - The Three Faction Summit!

Chapter 96 – The Three Faction Summit!

The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across Kuoh Academy—its familiar halls now playing host to an unprecedented meeting that could very well decide the future of the entire supernatural world.

Inside a modest-sized conference room within the school grounds, four figures sat around a circular table. Each one was a titan of their faction—pillars upholding the balance of the supernatural realms.

From the Underworld: Sirzechs Lucifer and Serafall Leviathan, two of the current Four Great Satans.

From Heaven: Michael, the Chief Seraph and acting leader of the angels.

And from the Grigori: Azazel, Governor General of the Fallen Angels.

Michael sat at the center. To his left were Sirzechs and Serafall. To his right, Azazel.

Leaning casually against the wall behind Azazel was Vali Lucifer, arms crossed, looking as uninterested as ever despite the gravity of the situation.

Behind Serafall stood Rias Gremory and Sona Shitori, flanked by their peerages. Though they weren't seated at the table, their presence marked the importance of the occasion.

Akira stood alongside them, just slightly behind. Despite the cramped room, the hierarchy between everyone present was painfully clear.

Sirzechs opened the discussion in a calm yet commanding tone.

"This summit was convened in response to a recent incident—Kokabiel's rampage."

His crimson gaze drifted to Azazel. "Governor General, I believe you have something to say?"

His words weren't accusatory, but there was a weight behind them. After all, the devils and angels had both suffered during the incident. While the Church lost three Holy Swords, the Devils had nearly lost the sisters of two of the Four Satans.

Azazel gave a casual shrug. "Apologies for the trouble caused by Kokabiel. But let me be clear—his actions were of his own accord. They do not represent the will of the Fallen Angel Faction."

He didn't mention that he'd known of Kokabiel's plan from the beginning. That detail could stay buried. As far as he was concerned, this was Kokabiel's last contribution to peace—being the perfect scapegoat.

Michael followed up in a solemn tone. "This wasn't a minor incident. It involved all three factions—Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels. It could have reignited the Great War."

Among the three sides, Heaven was in the most precarious position.

The Devils had adapted over the years. Even with the decline of pure-bloods, their peerage system through Devil Reincarnation allowed them to maintain strength.

The Fallen Angels, while lacking such a system, could still reproduce normally.

But Heaven… Heaven was different.

Since the death of the Biblical God, Michael had been keeping the divine system running on his own. That system was weakening—especially the safeguard designed to prevent angels from falling due to human emotions. As its power waned, more angels had begun to fall, increasing the Fallen Angel numbers and reducing Heaven's own ranks dangerously.

"If that's the case, Michael," Azazel said with a knowing smile, "then what are you proposing?"

They had once stood side by side as Seraphim. Azazel knew exactly how Michael thought.

Michael closed his eyes for a brief moment, then said with unwavering resolve, "Our world can no longer withstand any more chaos. That is why… I believe it's time we welcome peace."

Silence filled the room for a moment.

Then, Sirzechs, Serafall, and Azazel all smiled—subtle, yet genuine.

Akira and Vali didn't react. They had anticipated this outcome long before the meeting began.

But Rias and Sona… their eyes widened in disbelief.

Peace? Between Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels?

These three factions had been locked in conflict for thousands of years. And now they were going to end it... here, in a small school in Japan?

"The so-called 'rigid one of Heaven'... hearing something like that from you feels surreal," Azazel chuckled softly.

"I've lost too much," Michael said quietly, his gaze distant. "Those we've lost can never return. All I can do now… is guide humanity forward and ensure the survival of the angels."

"You've really changed, Michael," Azazel murmured, voice tinged with something between nostalgia and sadness.

They were both born as direct creations of God. Even now, Azazel couldn't bring himself to hate the being who had created them. His reverence for God had never truly disappeared.

But Michael… Michael had once been the most devout among them.

And now he spoke like a man carrying centuries of burdens.

Azazel understood, though. Since God's death, all responsibility had fallen to Michael alone.

Each time an angel fell… Michael suffered anew.

"If Michael seeks peace," Sirzechs said, voice firm and steady, "then the Devil Faction supports that vision wholeheartedly."

"The original Four Satans are long gone. But the legacy of the devils must continue. What we need now isn't more war… but true peace."

"The world keeps turning, even without God," Azazel added lightly. "Nothing is truly irreplaceable. Life moves on. I support the peace treaty too."

The four leaders exchanged nods, their smiles calm, yet heavy with the weight of their decision.

This was no ordinary roundtable. These were the leaders of Heaven, the Underworld, and the Grigori. Their words today… would shape the future of the entire supernatural world.

"In that case," Azazel said, glancing around the room, "let us formalize this peace agreement—right here, right now."

Time seemed to pass without anyone noticing.

Everything had gone so smoothly.

But just as the meeting seemed ready to conclude—

All four leaders turned simultaneously toward two figures standing nearby: Akira and Vali.

"What about the Heavenly Dragons?" Michael asked, voice calm but clear. "What are your thoughts, Sekiryuutei and Hakuryuukou?"

Akira and Vali exchanged a look.

Then Vali spoke first, smirking. "Peace or war doesn't matter to me. As long as I get to fight strong opponents, I'm good."

There was no hesitation, no agenda. That was just how Vali was.

Then came Akira's turn.

"I'm fine with peace," he said simply. "It makes life easier. Less pointless conflict."

It wasn't entirely how he felt… but as Rias's fiancé, and with Sirzechs right there, he knew when to offer support. Especially for someone who might one day be his brother-in-law.

"In that case," Michael said, rising slightly from his seat, "let it be recorded. Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels—these three factions have reached a consensus. And with the Heavenly Dra—"

He never finished.

A violent tremor shook the room.

The entire building quaked as something massive rumbled from underground. Dust drifted from the ceiling. The table vibrated. Everyone instantly turned toward the source of the disruption.

This summit of peace…

…wasn't over just yet.
