Chapter 110 - System Research!

Chapter 109 – System Research!

The Gremory estate—one of the most prestigious devil noble households in the entire Underworld.

Even more so now, with the head of the current Four Great Satans, Sirzechs Lucifer, being the eldest son of the family.

Though he had to give up the family name to inherit the title "Lucifer," blood ties aren't so easily severed.

In essence, the Gremorys were now, without question, a Maou-blooded core household.

After arriving in the Underworld, Akira finally found himself able to enjoy some peace for the first time in what felt like ages.

That was partly because Rias and her peerage members were busy preparing for the upcoming adulthood ceremony. As her servants, they were all desperately working to sharpen their abilities.

Akira, on the other hand, was spending his days in the Gremory manor with the leisurely grace of a true aristocrat.

Lord and Lady Gremory—Rias and Sirzechs' parents—were away on important business.

That left the sprawling, sunlit mansion quiet… save for one lone occupant.

In the perfectly manicured back garden, Akira lounged on a reclining chair, sipping a chilled drink.

A small plate of Underworld delicacies sat on the table beside him, while two maids stood nearby, ready to attend to his needs at a moment's notice.

It was the picture of noble luxury—straight out of a classic romance novel.

It was worth noting that the Gremory household employed more than thirty full-time maids alone—not counting the guards, cooks, and other staff.

Even the "ordinary" maids here were beauties who could easily become campus idols if they were in the human world. Yet here, they were simply part of the supporting cast.

With his inheritance progress at 90%, Akira was more motivated than ever.

Just 10% more, and he would fully inherit the power of Enkidu—a mystical existence once referred to as the gods' final weapon in Mesopotamian mythology.

Even now, his strength had reached the peak of Maou-class. Once the Enkidu template was complete, surpassing the limit of his race wouldn't just be a dream—it would be inevitable.

Lately, out of boredom, he had been studying the functions of his system more closely.

— — —

[Template Inheritance System]

As the name implied, it allowed him to obtain and inherit the powers of specific characters in the form of an inheritance template.

But Akira had discovered an important detail—he could only inherit one template at a time.

Once inheritance reached 100%, the power of that template would fully merge into his body and existence, becoming a permanent part of him.

Only then would the system unlock the next template.

However, there was a catch.

When the second template began, all the powers from the first template would be sealed away.

He would be starting over from zero—just like creating a brand-new character on a different MMORPG server.

Each template had its own separate progression path, much like separate accounts in Dungeon & Fighter.

Interestingly, the system did allow him to temporarily unseal a completed template's powers in emergencies.

Of course, the moment he did, inheritance progress for the current template would halt until those powers were sealed again.

In Akira's opinion, that was an extremely user-friendly feature.

He wouldn't have to worry about dying just because he was in the middle of a new inheritance process.

With this, he still had an ace up his sleeve if things went truly south.

— — —

He was still scrolling through system logs and analyzing the mechanics when a calm, refined voice spoke from behind him.

"Shin Akira-sama."

Akira opened his eyes and turned.

Grayfia Lucifuge stood there, silent as ever. As Sirzechs Lucifer's Queen and the head maid of House Gremory, she was the estate's constant shadow—ever-present, yet rarely seen.

"Grayfia? What is it?"

"Lord and Lady Gremory have just returned from their trip. Would you like to meet them?"

"They're back? Of course. As a guest, it's only proper to greet them."

"This way, please."

Guided by Grayfia, Akira stepped into the grand main hall.

The towering double doors opened slowly.

Inside sat a man and woman whose very presence radiated calm authority.

The man with striking crimson hair was none other than Lord Zeoticus Gremory, head of the family.

Beside him sat a graceful woman with pale blonde hair and a warm, motherly aura—Lady Venelana Gremory, mother of Rias and Sirzechs.

"Your guests have arrived, my Lord, my Lady," Grayfia announced respectfully before stepping back in silence.

Hearing her words, Zeoticus and Venelana turned toward the door.

Akira stepped forward, bowing politely.

"It's an honor. I'm glad to finally meet the parents of Rias."

Though his words were simple, his gaze was sincere and his tone refined. The subtle aura of nature that clung to him gave off an inexplicable sense of comfort—like the arrival of spring.

First impression—perfect.

Both Zeoticus and Venelana looked genuinely pleased. In the end, everyone was still a creature of instinct—and appearances always played their part.

A well-kept face, graceful manners, and an effortless presence—these were undeniable advantages, especially for a potential son-in-law.

"At last, we meet. Sirzechs has spoken of you often," Zeoticus said warmly, his demeanor far from intimidating. He was more like a friendly father than a noble patriarch.

Venelana's eyes swept over Akira from head to toe, and she nodded to herself. In her mind, he was the ideal candidate.

Handsome, gifted, Maou-class power… and most importantly—unbound by any noble house.

Compared to marrying Rias off to the Phenex heir for political gain, having a strong and independent son-in-law was far more advantageous for the Gremorys' future.

In the Underworld, marriages between noble houses were often just tools to secure influence. If Rias married into the Phenex family, her future would inevitably lean toward her husband's house.

But with Akira—someone with no noble blood ties—her loyalty and influence would remain entirely with House Gremory. That… was the best-case scenario.

With Akira by Rias' side, the Gremorys wouldn't just gain a powerful ally—they would add another Maou-class guardian to the family's main estate.

An advantage beyond measure.
