Chapter 25 – My Stats Skyrocketed Again!?
Snap.
With a soft click, the magic lamp in the living room lit up, and the entire room was instantly bathed in a gentle glow.
Despite being a Western fantasy world in anime form, the level of technological development in Orario was surprisingly balanced. They might not have modern industrial technology, but the advancements made through Magic Stones were nothing short of revolutionary.
Unlike many fantasy worlds where raw power evolves but civilization remains stagnant, Danmachi's world seamlessly integrated magic and technology.
Thanks to Magic Stones, humans had created a wide range of tech that supported their daily lives—functioning much like electricity did in the modern world.
From magic lamps to magic clocks, heating devices, and even firestarters—these things were just part of everyday life.
As the room went from dark to bright, Shin Akira glanced at Hephaestus. Seeing the faint blush still lingering on her cheeks, he could tell—her affection for him had grown even deeper.
"Hephaestus-sama, may I ask you to update my Falna?"
"Oh? You were just calling me Hephaestus a moment ago, and now it's Hephaestus-sama again? That's quite the shift."
"That's because the context changed. Just now, I was speaking as a man chasing the woman he loves. But now I'm speaking as your Familia member."
"Hmph… Whatever. Come on in."
She didn't argue further.
Hephaestus led Akira into the same room where she had updated his Falna earlier that day.
In all of Orario, only Shin Akira was granted the rare privilege of receiving two Falna updates in a single day.
He removed his top and sat down with his back facing her.
Hephaestus pulled out the same silver needle as before and pricked her fingertip. A single drop of divine blood fell onto his back—and instantly, the Falna activated.

Another 100-point increase across all five stats—a total of 500 points.
Combined with the 1,300 points he had gained earlier that same day, his total growth today alone reached 1,800 points.
It was absurd. Unheard of. Practically impossible by normal standards.
This was only his second day as an adventurer. His second day with a Falna. Yet his stats already rivaled—no, surpassed—those of adventurers who had been training for months… or even years.
It wasn't just the effect of 〈Greed〉.
There was another, even more important reason behind this explosive growth.
Shin Akira had once reached the pinnacle of human strength.
He had been a Transcendent—one of the rare few who surpassed the limits of mortal potential.
Although his powers were now sealed, his body wasn't starting from scratch. This wasn't a new growth.
It was a restoration.
And recovering something that was already there… was always faster than building from the ground up.
That was the fundamental difference between growth and recovery—two entirely different processes.

"All done~"
Hephaestus spoke casually, already used to the unnatural phenomenon that was Shin Akira's growth—even after only two Falna updates.
She carefully recorded his new data and sealed the Falna again, concealing the markings on his back.
It was a simple matter for any god to hide their Familia's Falna—just in case the adventurer's back was exposed during battle. No one needed to know his stats unless he wanted them to.
Akira took the parchment copy of his updated Falna and scanned it.
Though not as dramatic as his previous increase, a flat 100-point gain across the board was still satisfying.
If a human's body was like a vessel, and stats were the water, then receiving Falna for the first time was like filling an empty glass—it filled quickly and easily.
But as the vessel began to fill, it would get harder to pour more in.
To keep going, the vessel itself had to grow—that's what development meant.
And when that growth hit its natural limit at a given level, the only way forward was through a Feat of Heroism—a momentous achievement that allowed them to level up.
That level-up, in turn, would expand the vessel's capacity again.
The Falna was never the power itself—it was merely the key that unlocked a person's true potential.

"Oh, right—Akira," Hephaestus said, "That shadow warrior ability of yours… does it count as magic?"
She was genuinely curious. Summoning abilities were extremely rare in Orario.
"Let me show you."
The shadow beneath Akira's feet rippled and expanded.
From the shifting darkness, a figure slowly rose.
Clad entirely in black, face covered with only glowing red eyes peeking out—he looked like a ninja born from darkness itself.
"This is a Shadowkhan Warrior. They emerge directly from my shadow. They don't need to eat or sleep, they obey unconditionally, and when they're defeated… they regenerate from my shadow again."
"They come back… immediately?"
"Watch this~"
Akira turned and struck the warrior square in the chest.
The body instantly dissolved into black mist.
But within seconds, another identical Shadowkhan emerged from his shadow—reborn as if nothing had happened.
"They just keep coming back…"
Even though she was a goddess of smithing, not war, Hephaestus could see it clearly.
This was a dangerous ability.
Endless regeneration. Perfect obedience. No maintenance needed.
It wasn't the strongest enemy that caused fear—it was the one you couldn't kill.
"That's not all," Akira added with a smirk. "I can summon up to eight at once. And I've got a feeling… once I level up, that number will go even higher."
To demonstrate, he summoned all eight Shadowkhan at once.
The room immediately felt cramped—eight figures standing silently, like living weapons awaiting orders.
Just as quickly, he dismissed them with a wave of his hand.
Hephaestus stared at him silently.
Her heart, already warmed from before, now overflowed with certainty.
This boy… this adventurer the heavens had dropped into her lap—he was irreplaceable.
A rare gem beyond compare.
He was powerful, growing at an insane pace, fearless before her, and most important of all… he accepted her.
He truly liked her for who she was.
A child like this… was something she had only dreamed of in her loneliest, most hopeless moments.
Now, he was real.
And he was hers.
