Chapter 41 - Chapter 41:Now, you're telling me what you should have done

Cheongsam looked around the small apartment, taking it all in, the simple wooden shelves, the neatly folded quilts, the faint smell of lavender and soy sauce in the air. It was modest, but warm. Like her.

He dropped his suitcase in the corner and grinned. "Tough? Sister, I've slept on benches more uncomfortable than anything you could throw together. Besides, I'm here to see you, not book a hotel."

Mianmian raised an eyebrow. "Just don't start whining in two days when your back starts hurting."

"I won't." he said. "I'm young and strong."

"Delusional." she muttered fondly, walking past him to fetch an extra quilt from the storage chest. "I'll put down an extra mat tonight. You can help me with prep tomorrow morning. You said you'd help, right?"

"Yes, ma'am." He gave a mock salute.

She rolled her eyes but smiled.
