Chapter 71 - DB | Ch: 71

A few minutes after Lisette issued her call, the main members of the Z-Fighters appeared at the Lookout via Instant Transmission. Lisette had expected them to complain about missing the World Martial Arts Tournament, but they didn't seem to care in the least.

Her plan had hit a snag immediately. She had explicitly warned those with "evil intent" to stay away to avoid being manipulated, but her words had the opposite effect. Vegeta, Turles, and Piccolo had all shown up, fueled by the defiant sentiment of: "There's no way I'd be controlled by some low-rent wizard."

Surprisingly, Vegeta didn't seem particularly frustrated about leaving the tournament. In the original history, Goku had been dead and was only back for a single day; Vegeta's rage stemmed from his one chance at a rematch being stolen. In this world, however, Goku was alive. He and Vegeta had sparred countless times over the last seven years. His obsession wasn't a desperate, starving hunger anymore.

As a result, only Krillin, Yamcha, Android 18, Goten, and kid Trunks remained at the tournament. Everyone else was here.

"I'm sorry, everyone," Lisette said, looking at the group. "I know you were looking forward to the tournament."

"Don't worry about it," Goku replied with a grin. "If the Goddess is calling us, it must be something huge, right?"

That was the second difference: the level of trust. In the original timeline, the Supreme Kai was the one asking for help, and the Z-Fighters didn't know or trust him. They saw him as some "important guy" who was willing to use Gohan as bait. But when Lisette called, the stakes were clear. She had been one of their strongest allies since the beginning—their peer, their teacher, and a woman whose power was beyond question.

Everyone knew her strength rivaled the Super Saiyans, her technique was peerless, and she possessed a terrifying array of psychic powers, divine arts, and magic. Plus, she had Cell, Popo, and a small army of robots at her beck and call. If shewas asking for help, the situation wasn't just bad—it was apocalyptic.

"Right. Before I explain the details, there is someone you need to meet. This is the Supreme Kai, the god who oversees the entire universe."

Lisette introduced him, and Shin offered a polite smile. He was clearly trying to maintain a facade of divine authority for this first contact. Unfortunately for him, everyone in this group could sense ki.

"The god of the whole universe?" Goku mused. "Wow, you must be amazing. Are you even stronger than our Goddess?"

"Hehe... no, no, I wouldn't go that far," Shin replied humbly.

Goku had just set the bar for "godhood" at a level Shin didn't realize was already in the stratosphere. Kibito, having witnessed Lisette's power earlier, was already looking pale, realizing the hierarchy was completely backward. Shin, however, remained blissfully unaware.

"So, you're stronger than the Goddess when she's serious?" Gohan asked innocently.

"Hehe... well, who can say?" Shin dodged the question.

Gohan's "serious" was a reference to the Xenoverse state. The bar had now left the solar system and was currently drifting through the galactic void. Shin was still smiling.

"Can you do all that psychic stuff too?" Turles asked.

"Yes, a few minor tricks," Shin said.

Turles's idea of "minor tricks" included telekinesis, paralysis, mind-reading, matter creation, subspace manipulation, time-stopping, and high-level magic. The bar was now in another galaxy entirely. It was never coming back.

Cell stood behind Lisette, looking thoroughly amused, while Lisette felt a wave of secondhand embarrassment for the Supreme Kai. She almost felt the need to apologize for her friends' expectations.

After a quick briefing, the group prepared to head for Babidi's ship. Shin suggested finding one of Babidi's scouts to lead them there, but Lisette already had the coordinates locked. The strike team was finalized: Lisette, Cell, Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Turles, Piccolo, Nappa, Shin, and Kibito.

Lisette had considered leaving Shin and Kibito behind since they were technically liabilities, but you can't exactly tell the CEO of the universe to stay in the car. As for Babidi's mind control... she'd just have to have her own counter-magic ready.

"Let's move."

Lisette opened a gate, and the group stepped through. Subspace travel was second nature to them now. Shin and Kibito were the only ones who looked stunned, stepping through the rift with hesitant, wide-eyed caution. They materialized within sight of the wizard's buried spaceship and gathered for a final tactical meeting.

"Alright, we have two options," Lisette began. "First, a pre-emptive strike. We destroy the ship from the outside and wipe them out in one go. Second, we infiltrate and fight them on their own turf. The first is faster, but carries the risk of accidentally waking Majin Buu through the impact. The second is more dangerous because it plays right into their hands."

"That's not even a choice. We blow the ship," Turles said immediately. "Why walk into a trap? The first rule of combat is to do the thing the enemy hates most."

"I'm with him," Nappa added. "Want me to go give 'em a proper greeting?"

"Just get it over with," Vegeta grunted.

Resurrecting Majin Buu? They understood it was a threat—Lisette wouldn't have gathered them otherwise. But that was all the more reason to bury the monster before it could take its first breath. Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo all nodded in agreement. Cell also voiced his approval.

The Earth warriors were unanimous. Only Shin raised a voice in protest.

"No! Neither of those will work!"

"With all due respect, Supreme Kai," Lisette countered, "we have to do something. I can't even teleport inside because the internal space is magically distorted."

"We must wait for an opportunity! It will come!"

"An opportunity?" Turles scoffed. "What, are you waiting for Babidi to come out for a stroll? You're talking like someone with too much time on their hands."

"He will come out eventually! He will have his strongest subordinates with him, and we can strike then. We just have to wait."

Turles glared at the Supreme Kai's excessive caution, then shot a look at Lisette that clearly asked: Is this guy actually strong?

Lisette looked away, pretending not to see the question. Her silence was answer enough. At that moment, everyone from Earth officially started doubting the Supreme Kai's competence.

"Hmph. You're being far too modest, Lisette," Cell interrupted. "You've already thought of a way around this, haven't you?"

"Oh, did you catch that?" Lisette smiled.

If destruction was too risky and infiltration was too dangerous, she simply had to find a third path. She couldn't teleport into the ship... but she could teleport the ship itself.

"Here's the plan. I'm going to use my power to teleport the entire ship onto the surface of a distant star. It will be incinerated instantly. Even if Majin Buu survives the heat, he'll be waking up in the heart of a sun while still weakened. He'll be erased before he can even blink."

"That... is such a thing even possible?!" Shin gasped.

"Yes. I also considered trapping the ship in a sealed subspace or the Hyperbolic Time Chamber before destroying it, but the sun seems most efficient."

Lisette ignored Shin's shock and continued. "The only wild cards are Mira and Towa. They'll likely detect the shift and escape before the impact. That's where you all come in. Your job is to intercept and eliminate those two the moment they appear."

She was done playing games with those demons. She wanted them gone today, before they could sabotage anything else. That was why she had called for backup.

"It's not the most 'heroic' way to fight, but I'm not holding back. We finish them the moment they show their faces."

"Got it," Goku said, his expression hardening. "We'll end it fast."

The plan was perfect. Babidi and Buu would be burned out of existence by a star, and the demons would be crushed by the combined might of the Z-Fighters.

But just as Lisette prepared to act, the choice was taken away from her.

A massive explosion ripped through the earth as Babidi's ship was blown to pieces from the inside out.

"Wait... what?" Lisette blinked.

No one in her group had moved. They all shook their heads, confirming they hadn't attacked. The ship had been destroyed by something else entirely.

More importantly... the ki. The signatures within the ship—including Babidi's—had vanished in an instant. In their place, a massive, ungraspable, and utterly alien presence had manifested.

Shin began to tremble, his face pale as a sheet. "No... it can't be..."

Lisette felt a chill. She didn't know how, and she didn't know why, but the impossible had happened. Majin Buu was awake.

And judging by the sheer weight of his ki... he was at full power.

Combat Power / Data Archive

Majin Buu: 100,000,000,000 (100 Billion)

Dabura: 25,000,000,000 (25 Billion)

Yacon: 4,000,000,000 (4 Billion / 800 Kiri)

Pui Pui: 100,000,000 (100 Million)

Technical Note: The "Kiri" Unit

In this narrative, the power scaling has been adjusted for realism. While official sources often lowball the "Kiri" unit, here 1 Kiri = 5,000,000.

Goku (Super Saiyan): 3,000 Kiri (15 Billion).

Goku (Super Saiyan 3 / Buu Arc): 120 Billion.

Dabura: Estimated at 25 Billion (on par with SSJ2 Gohan).

Majin Buu: Set at 100 Billion. While technically weaker than SSJ3 Goku, his regeneration makes him nearly impossible to defeat without a massive power gap.
