Chapter Fifty-Six: The Cost of Secrets
There was no time for Reign to think longer…sweat like tsunami was covering his whole body…but then, a short vibration took him out of his thoughts.
He looked down at his phone…the screen was dark, except for a single message from an unknown number.
"Kill Violet. Or Isabelle dies. 24 hours."
His blood froze like a yogurt left in the freezer.
Reign's breath became harder, like it was being pushed out of his lungs by force.
He read it again…and again, but it didn't change.
"Kill Violet…"
Reign was standing in the middle of the hospital's security room, the footage of the fake doctor still paused on the monitor. His jaw clenched so hard it started to hurt.
His fingers moved fast across the screen. He tried calling the number back, but there was no signal like it was disconnected.
Then he slammed his fist onto the desk, and the head of hospital security flinched. "S-Sir?"
