Chapter 15 - EP.15 – Duel of the Inheritors

The air between Jiwoon and Maljun cracked like glass.

One wielded the Sinbound Blade, born from guilt and fury.

The other commanded Purity Constructs, shaped by inherited divine code.

Two ideologies, two legacies—colliding on broken stone under a blood-red moon.

A Clash of Systems

[Hyun Maljun - Status: System Legacy User]

Unique Trait: Celestial Circuitry

Core Directive: Cleanse Corruption by Light-Based Law

As Maljun lifted his hand, spears of radiant light rained down like judgment itself.

Jiwoon darted between them, Nyxfang in hand.

"You're not justice," Jiwoon growled.

"You're just a mirror with better lighting."

"And you're just another mistake," Maljun replied.

Sin Surge vs. Celestial Flow

Jiwoon activated Sin Surge, his aura erupting in crimson-black tendrils that danced like fire.

[Skill Activated: Sin Echo – Doubles attack impact if enemy holds suppressed guilt]

Maljun's eyes widened for a split second—his past sins surfacing in his thoughts.

A girl he didn't save. A brother he betrayed.

Nyxfang struck, and Maljun was thrown backward into the wall.

"You hide guilt behind laws," Jiwoon whispered.

"But shadows always bleed through."

The Demon's Voice Returns

Just as Jiwoon prepared a finishing strike, the voice returned—

The deep, calm voice of the Kirin-Dragon.

"Why kill the boy, when you could use him?"

Jiwoon froze.

"What… do you mean?"

"He is not your enemy.

He is your heir, or your harbinger.

Break him… or bind him."

A Choice Once More

Maljun knelt, coughing blood.

"Do it," he hissed.

"Prove you're no better than the monsters you fight."

Jiwoon raised his blade… and then stopped.

His hand trembled.

"I'm not like you," he said.

"And I'm done letting others write my story."

He turned and walked away—leaving Maljun stunned.

"You'll regret this mercy," the boy whispered.

"Mercy is always punished."
