One shot

Exam Day.

The room was wrapped in silence—sharp, tense, and heavy.

Every student sat rigid in their seats, backs straight, pencils dancing with desperation across paper. The only sounds were scribbles, ticking clocks, and a few held breaths.

And at the front of the class…

Sat Kyo-sensei.

She never needed to speak loudly. Never raised her voice.

She didn't have to.

She sat there like a still blade, dressed in a clean white shirt—no jacket, collar loose, black slacks pressed perfectly. As always, sunglasses covered her eyes like an impenetrable wall.

No one had ever seen her eyes.

Some say they were cursed.

Others say she could see through you.

---

Today was no different for Hina

She was trying to focus, really.

But her pencil shook in her fingers. Her eyes darted. Her lips moved as she silently mouthed answers.

She was nervous.

But then—

It happened.

---

Kyo-sensei stood.

Her chair barely creaked. Her heels made no sound on the floor.

She walked between the rows like a shadow. Graceful. Measured. Unreadable.

And then…

She stopped.

Right behind Hina.

The world froze.

Hina didn't dare move.

Didn't dare breathe.

Then—

"Caught you, sweety~"

A whisper. Gentle. Dangerous.

And a giggle followed—soft and cruelly sweet.

Her pencil dropped with a clatter.

Did she just… call me… sweety?? Was that a joke? A threat? A tease?! AAAAAAA—

Hina gasped, eyes wide. Her fingers trembled.

She wanted to say something.

To explain.

To insist she wasn't doing anything wrong.

But—

Kyo-sensei didn't move.

She stayed.

Right there.

Standing behind Hina. Silent. Smiling.

The air around them thickened.

Hina's heart beat loud in her ears. Her legs locked in place.

And then—

Just a glance.

Hina tilted her head the slightest bit, eyes barely daring to look back.

And there she was.

Kyo-sensei, towering silently. Her smile faint, unreadable. Her sunglasses hiding everything—but revealing the same thing:

Hina had been seen.

Her throat dried instantly. Her face flushed.

She looked away again—fast.

Couldn't speak.

Couldn't think.

She's still there. She didn't move.

She's just… watching me—!

Then—

Kyo-sensei stepped forward.

And walked past Hina's desk.

Not behind her—in front of her.

So close her shirt's fabric brushed the desk edge.

So close Hina could faintly smell her faint, clean perfume.

Not a word.

Not a glance back.

Just the soft sound of steps, the slight shift of fabric, and the rustle of her gloved hand.

And then…

She was gone.

Back to her desk.

She just walked right in front of me… I-I can still feel her scent—

---

Hina stared at her paper.

She hadn't answered anything for five minutes.

She didn't remember how to answer anymore.

Hina kept imagining what Kyo-sensei said:

"Caught you, sweety."

---

That Night...

Hina lay on her bed, eyes wide open.

She clutched her pillow, cheeks still hot.

"She stood behind me for so long…

And that smile—ugh! My soul left my body!"

She rolled on her side and screamed into her blanket.

Softly, of course.

---

The Next Day…

Hina walked into class slowly, quietly.

Kyo-sensei stood at the front, exactly the same as always.

White shirt.

Loose tie.

Sunglasses.

But somehow… it felt worse.

Because now—Hina knew what hid behind those glasses.

Not eyes.

Not judgment.

But a smile that could end your whole life with a whisper.

She sat in silence.

And every time Kyo-sensei passed by, her fingers clenched nervously.

---

I'm never going to survive the next test…

Unless she does that to me again…

---

The End

…Or maybe, just the beginning of being caught again.
