The aftermath of Broly's rampage left the battlefield eerily quiet. Vegeta had vanished.
Goku had managed to give him a Senzu Bean just in time, but after being thoroughly humiliated by Broly, the proud Saiyan Prince had left Earth in the small spaceship he'd arrived in, his wounded pride driving him to seek power elsewhere in the universe.
As for Broly, Karnel had knocked him unconscious and transported him to a random planet in the Eastern Galaxy, leaving him there to recover, or cause havoc, far from Earth.
"All done! Perfect ending!" Karnel announced cheerfully, dusting off his hands as he teleported back to the group with casual ease.
"There really are so many strong fighters in the universe," Goku mused, his eyes bright with excitement despite his recent beating. "I really want to go out there and see what's waiting! But my current strength still isn't enough." He turned to his companions with renewed determination. "Piccolo, Krillin, do you want to train with me?"
After witnessing Vegeta's power, Broly's terrifying strength, and Karnel's effortless dominance over both, Goku's fighting spirit had been reignited more intensely than ever.
Tien and Chiaotzu exchanged glances and politely declined. "We have our own training methods to pursue," Tien explained before they departed.
Piccolo clenched his fists, his expression conflicted. "No, Son Goku. I want to return to Namek. I need to find the path that suits me best."
"Piccolo!" Goku called out enthusiastically. "I also want to venture into the universe and fight other powerful martial artists! But you're right, my strength is still too weak." His expression grew more serious. "Karnel gave me an incredible gravity room. Training in it can rapidly improve our strength. Why don't we all practice together for a while, and then we can go find your homeland Namek together? I'm really looking forward to fighting the strong warriors there!"
As soon as Goku finished speaking, he took off toward home, with Piccolo, Krillin, and the others following behind.
"Am I just being left behind like this?" Karnel muttered, scratching his nose with bemused resignation.
"Master Roshi, I'm leaving too," he called out, waving goodbye before vanishing instantly, leaving the old turtle hermit with a confused expression.
When Karnel arrived home, a wave of exhaustion suddenly hit him. He collapsed onto the sofa and fell into a deep sleep that lasted until the next morning.
Stretching and yawning as he woke up refreshed, Karnel wandered into the bedroom but found it empty.
"That little genius has been staying in the lab all night again," he murmured with fond exasperation, shaking his head. He poured himself a glass of water and made his way to the lake behind the house, settling cross-legged on its surface for his daily meditation.
After such a long period of practice, his divine essence had gradually taken shape and seemed ready to condense into solid form. A silver filament moved within the core of his divinity like a fish swimming in a stream, pulsing with mysterious energy.
Transforming into his Super Saiyan form, Karnel studied his reflection in the lake's surface. His hair had shifted from the traditional golden color, now it was half-gold and half-red, with the red having claimed most of the strands, leaving only faint golden traces at the tips.
"The Heart of God is about to take shape," he murmured with anticipation, "but what is that completely invisible silver thread inside? I really look forward to the day when the Heart of God is fully complete."
Suddenly, the core of his divine nature trembled slightly, as if sensing something similar nearby.
"What's happening?" His expression sharpened with surprise. "A faint presence just appeared on Earth. If I hadn't been focused at this exact moment, I might have missed it entirely."
Karnel's curiosity was piqued. What could have almost escaped his perception? He located the mysterious energy signature and activated his instant transmission.
In the wilderness south of West City, Karnel appeared silently, concealing himself in the shadows as he observed a green-skinned creature emerging from a strange machine.
"Why did that silver thread react?" he wondered, his eyes narrowing as he watched the monster hide the machine within a stone wall before burrowing underground. "How did this green creature suddenly appear here? What is that machine?"
Karnel's eyes lit up with recognition as he carefully studied the creature's movements. "If I'm not mistaken, this should be Cell, recently born and from the future. How could his aura disappear so quickly? If I hadn't arrived immediately and seen you digging into the soil with my own eyes, even I might not have found you."
He gazed at the ground where the grass had been restored to its original state without leaving a trace, his expression growing thoughtful.
"So that machine must be the time machine created by Bulma from another timeline." Karnel's eyes burned with interest as he studied the stone wall concealing the device.
Future Cell, now in deep hibernation, would never have imagined that someone who didn't exist in his memories would discover him the moment he traveled through time to the past.
Moving silently to the stone wall, Karnel lifted the massive barrier with minimal effort, revealing an elegant time machine beneath.
"It really is a time machine," he breathed, his eyes flashing with approval as his hands traced the smooth, metallic surface. "Bulma truly is a genius, to research such a device all by herself."
After carefully placing the time machine into an empty universal capsule, Karnel sighed with relief and satisfaction. "As long as I take this back to that little genius for research, it should significantly shorten the development time for an even more powerful time-space shuttle."
Then his gaze shifted to the flattened area where Future Cell had burrowed. His expression grew conflicted, with murderous intent and hesitation alternating in his eyes.
A terrifying energy wave condensed in his hand as Karnel's eyes flashed with cold determination. "Things from the future shouldn't exist in this era," he said with a chilling smile. "Let me send you off properly."
His body slowly rose into the air, the golden and red energy wave in his hand aimed directly at Future Cell's hiding place.
"Goodbye, Cell!" Karnel murmured, and the energy wave in his hand burst into dazzling light as it blasted straight down.
BOOM!
The explosion shook the entire wilderness, leaving a massive crater where Future Cell had been hiding. The threat from the future had been eliminated before it could even begin.
Karnel hovered above the destruction for a moment, ensuring no trace of the bio-android remained, before teleporting back home with the time machine, and a secret that would change everything.
