Chapter 400 - Chapter 400: Uzumaki Miyuki's Resentment

Minato Namikaze, completely taken in by Hiruzen Sarutobi, began asking about Jiraiya.

When Hiruzen brought up Jiraiya, he felt a sense of disappointment toward his former student.

Back then, Jiraiya had also requested to adopt Naruto Uzumaki, but Hiruzen had refused.

Furthermore, Hiruzen had hidden Naruto's true heritage, allowing him to grow up as an orphan in Konoha, something Jiraiya had strongly opposed.

However, Jiraiya's objections meant nothing to Hiruzen.

Disheartened, Jiraiya left Konoha and hadn't returned since.

Hiruzen replied, "You know how Jiraiya is. There were certain truths I couldn't share with him because he wouldn't understand why I did what I did. Now, he's left Konoha under the pretense of gathering material for his writing and hasn't been back in many years. Sigh."

Minato said to Hiruzen, "Third, I'll try talking to Jiraiya-sensei."

Hiruzen nodded. "Good. If anyone can convince Jiraiya, it would be you."

Then Hiruzen smiled at Minato and said, "Minato, tomorrow I will be announcing that you're alive and transferring you to the Ninja Hospital. A lot of people are going to show up—just brace yourself for it."

Minato also smiled. "Yeah. For me, it's just been one night—but for them, they haven't seen me in over twelve years."

"I'll go ahead and start making the arrangements now. You should get some rest, Minato."

After Hiruzen left, the medical ninja reentered the room and continued treating Minato.

Minato was practically bursting with excitement—the moment Naruto Uzumaki came back, he'd finally get to see his own son again.

In Minato's mind, Naruto was still a baby, so while imagining what he looked like now, his face couldn't stop lighting up with smiles.

The next day,

Hiruzen immediately announced that Minato Namikaze was still alive—he had merely been unconscious all this time—and now had awoken, explaining everything to everyone.

The entire village of Konoha was stunned. Their Fourth Hokage was actually alive and had awakened.

The entire village went absolutely wild—everyone stampeded toward the Ninja Hospital to catch a glimpse of Minato.

But obviously, Minato couldn't meet everyone at once—if they all showed up together, the Konoha Ninja Hospital would've burst at the seams.

Therefore, Hiruzen arranged for some ninja to block access, temporarily allowing only Minato's old friends and clan leaders to visit, while others would come in batches later.

Far away in the Land of Waves, Chinya paused mid-sip.

Chinya said to Uzumaki Miyuki, who sat across from him, "Minato Namikaze has awakened. Konoha just announced the news."

Miyuki Uzumaki trembled slightly, her expression extremely complex.

Sōnagi Uzumaki looked curiously at Miyuki, who had lowered her head.

The name Minato Namikaze, although often heard in Konoha, referred to none other than Konoha's Fourth Hokage.

He had occasionally mentioned Minato Namikaze's name while Chinya and Kushina Uzumaki were chatting.

But Sōnagi Uzumaki didn't know about the relationship between Minato Namikaze and Miyuki Uzumaki. Every time he felt curious and tried to ask, Chinya and Kushina would always shoo him away with the remark: "Why should kids know so much? Go play somewhere else."

Now, Chinya had brought up Minato Namikaze's name in front of Miyuki Uzumaki, who wore such a strange expression.

Sōnagi was certain—there had to be a hidden link between Miyuki and Minato!

Just as Sōnagi opened his mouth to ask, a chill ran down his spine.

That was because Chinya was now narrowing his eyes, staring at him intimidatingly.

Sōnagi Uzumaki was absolutely sure—if he dared to ask, Chinya would beat him immediately.

Chinya rarely hit him. Usually, he would try reasoning first. But whenever he decided to use force, his eyes would take on exactly that look.

After getting beaten up so many times, Sōnagi had figured it out: Whenever Chinya gave him that look, he still had one last shot—if he blew it, the beating was coming.

Smiling awkwardly at Chinya, Sōnagi wisely shut his mouth.

Miyuki lingered in silence for a long moment before finally speaking: "Is that so… He's awake?"

Even after all these years, Miyuki Uzumaki's resentment toward Minato Namikaze hadn't lessened in the slightest.

Back then, she had begged him so desperately, yet Minato still chose to seal the Nine-Tails' chakra inside Naruto Uzumaki.

Compared to her and Naruto Uzumaki, Minato loved Konoha more.

Miyuki could actually understand—he was the Hokage, after all.

But why impose all this onto an innocent newborn baby who knew nothing about it?

Because Naruto Uzumaki became the Jinchuriki, he nearly got sent to the Root Division to be trained into an emotionless weapon of war—if Chinya hadn't stopped it.

If not for becoming the Jinchuriki, Naruto Uzumaki wouldn't have endured so much hardship.

There were so many powerful ninjas in Konoha—did the jinchuriki really have to be Naruto Uzumaki?

And just based on one sentence from Jiraiya, they decided Naruto Uzumaki was some kind of prophesied savior and sealed the Nine-Tails' chakra inside him? On what grounds?

If one of the Five Great Ninja Villages needed a newborn baby to save it, then maybe it'd have been better off crumbling into dust!

Consumed by hatred, Miyuki resonated with the Tailed Beast Chakra sealed within her.

A surge of red tailed beast chakra began emanating from her body.

Feeling this ominous power, Sōnagi Uzumaki, Kimimaro Kaguya, and others changed expressions instantly.

"Calm down, Miyuki."

Hearing Chinya's voice, Miyuki regained her composure.

Using a sealing technique, Miyuki pulled the overflowing Tailed Beast Chakra back inside.

Standing up from her chair, Miyuki said to Chinya, "I need to go out for a walk."

Chinya nodded, "Alright, go ahead."

He could guess that Miyuki must have recalled what happened that night years ago, and her anger had caused the Tailed Beast Chakra to stir.

It might be good for her to take a walk and clear her mind.

After Uzumaki Miyuki left, Uzumaki Sōnagi gave Chinya a pleading look and asked, "Dad, can't you at least tell me a little? Why was Aunt Miyuki so angry just now? Was it because of Minato Namikaze?"

Although Kimimaro Kaguya and the others pretended not to care by tilting their heads away, their curious eyes betrayed them.

Chinya worried that if he didn't explain now, Sōnagi might recklessly go ask Miyuki later, which would just make her even more upset.

Since Minato Namikaze had already awakened, Sōnagi would inevitably find out eventually anyway. So there was no harm in telling them now.

"Minato Namikaze is your Aunt Miyuki's husband and Naruto's father. The Nine-Tails sealed inside Naruto was sealed by Minato Namikaze."

Uzumaki Sōnagi, Kimimaro Kaguya, and the others were left with their mouths hanging open, stunned beyond belief.
