Chapter 37 - - Knighthood (2)

Uther Pendragon now stood between the two men. Staring Arthur in the eye, blue sparks flickering off his body. He had a mix of emotions on his face, that wasn't exactly readable. The man's wrinkled face contorted with a scowl as he looked at Arthur.

"You've grown."

Arthur didn't say a word. It's not that he didn't want to speak, it's just that he had nothing to say. After two years, a son had no things to say to his father. Though, Arthur didn't really have any attachment towards Uther, though, the memories of the real Arthur made him want it. Arthur sighed.

"Yes. I believe I have.

Uther simply grunted in response. Morgus Zephyr then followed him up.

"The emperor expected you. I believe he's awaiting you and you four youth. So better not keep him waiting..."

'The emperor is awaiting me…?'

Arthur nodded and walked out of the training grounds. Though, he noticed something odd. It was starting to rain.

'Huh…there wasn't even a single cloud in the sky a few moments ago…thats not foreboding at all…'

He shrugged and walked inside. Throwing his cloak onto a nearby table. He placed the obsidian great sword back into his inventory and walked towards the doors of the throne room. Which had already been opened. Lancelot, Mordred, and Revan were standing in front of the emperor's throne. The emperor was a man of regal beauty, his blonde hair was long and curly. His eyes were a stark contrast, a dull grey, compared to Lancelot's eyes, his fathers were devoid of any warmth or light.

'By the time I had reached the capital in Arcadia. The emperor was already dead, if I remember correctly.'

Arthur's thoughts paused for a moment.

'How did he know I was coming? I don't remember the emperor ever having prophet abilities…'

Arthur took a step into the throne room. And he instantly shuddered as the emperor's gaze fell upon him. The man smiled.

"Come here. Little monster."

Arthur didn't exactly like that comment. As he stood next to Mordred. Mordred smiled at him. Arthur's gaze remained on the emperor.

"Just look at you four…how grand."

Lancelot spoke up suddenly.

"Father, why did you call all of us here?"

The emperor's smile only grew wider.

"Oh. I just wanted to see you four is all. You three may go. Though, the monster must stay."

The other three looked at Arthur. Revan smiled at him. And Lancelot grimaced. The three left Arthur and the emperor alone. The emperor stood and walked towards him.

"You bear great resemblance to your mother. Arthur. She was a dear friend of mine."

Arthur looked at the emperor. Still feeling a sense of unease.

"Thank you…?"

The emperor's smile turned into a grimace. As he observed Arthur.

"Such a shame, boy…to be fates plaything, a cruel destiny…"

Arthur grit his teeth. He knew very well what he was. A victim of a cruel cycle, born to calamity, and born to herald all things. Though he didn't know every detail.

"Take your family, take my son, and take that friend of yours…and leave this place. You must go now."

Arthur raised an eyebrow.

"Excuse me, your royal highness, but may I ask why? This seems a bit sudden…"

"Are you questioning me? I need you to run, little monster. Run, run, run, as far and as wide as you can…
