Chapter 1 - Alive

DI…DI…DI…DI…

The continuous beep of the hospital ward machine could be heard resounding in the corridor.

Different patients wearing hospital attires walked past each other with lifeless eyes.

This was the second to the last floor of a two-hundred-story building hospital.

This floor was specially used to keep hopeless patients whose ailments are said to have no cure.

One might wonder why our story started here. Anyways, this is where our protagonist begins his entrance.

Back to the story.

The floor consists of two hundred ward rooms with 50 beds each, in which 50 patients for each room, vegetative or still conscious.

In the 49th ward room, all patients could be seen lying down on each bed.

This was a room where vegetative patients were kept—the hopeless ones.

In the corner of the ward room near the window, a young patient could be seen lying down in the bed.

He was the youngest of all in the ward. Even his handsome face shone brightly in the dark night—the bright moon illuminated him, and the stars twinkled at the face of him.

The ward was so quiet that only the beep of the machine could be heard. But only the patients lying on the bed knew how much banter there were causing each other.

Yes, interestingly, each patient in the room were conscious—not brain dead—but they couldn't move their bodies, which resulted in them being left alone for a long time.

A tiny wire connects the brainwave of each of the patients together, which resulted in them being able to communicate with each other.

The oldest of the patients in the ward had stayed there for about 20 years, and the rest 10 to 15 years.

The young man lying on the bed near the window had stayed the shortest, which was only two years.

But at this moment, that wasn't the most important.

The point was that the patients were debating on if he was brain dead or not.

For two years he had been with them, he had made no sound or connected his brainwave to communicate with them.

Who could stand being alone in your conscious for years without saying anything to someone?

On the other side, Xú Míng, who just regained his conscious, was wondering where he was.

It was dark and very calm. No… too calm for his bearing.

He remembered being hit in the head by his scumbag stepfather with a wooden chair and blacked out after failing his college entrance exam.

Well, he wasted his hard-earned money but ended up doing nothing.

But right now Xú Míng was panicking.

He had been wandering this dark lonely place for as long as he could remember, but he got no result.

He just needed an answer to if he was in heaven or hell.

"Where the heck am I?..." Xú Míng complained angrily.

"Did that old man do something to me?" he wondered.

Just then, Xú Míng remembered something.

He had seen something like a statue window before fainting and wondered if it was a dream or real.

"Statue window!!!..." he called out, not leaving any opportunity to make himself feel less bored.

But something amazing happened.

"What?!!!" Xú Míng, who just woke up from the shock that the system really existed, didn't even hear the system prompt, wondering if he was still in a dream.

100%... complete

Now receive the memory...

Just as Xú Míng was feeling ecstasy over gaining a system, jumbles of memories not his flooded his mind.

He felt as though his brain would burst in the next second.

A few minutes later, he fainted from pain.

...

Up in the dark sky above the Green Planet… system 203 of the Exchange Rate System, who was passing by the Green Planet and complaining about not being able to find a perfect host, paused a bit.

Looking down at the Green Planet, excitement could be seen on its face, though it didn't have one.

"It's been long since I felt such huge life force!!!... Which powerhouse came to this garbage planet?... Hehehe… I would have to go and check so as not to miss this buddha that came my way."

System 203 immediately turned into a streak of light and fell towards the place it felt the abundant life force.

Soon, it came upon a tall building and passed through it, appearing before the person it felt had such huge life force.

It was shocked.

"How can a comatose human have such abundant energy?... Almost an old monster."

"I better bound him now before he rejects me later when he wakes up," thought System 203.

Xú Míng moaned in pain as he awoke from the darkness that enshrouded him.

Now he knew what kind of predicament he was in.

"What the hell!!!!..."

Others time travel to handsome rich second-generation, princes of different kingdoms, cultivation big shots, and so on.

But he transmigrated into the body of a crippled real master.

What a pain in the ass it was...

He was probably lying in a hospital bed, waiting for the day the hospital would remove the oxygen mask from his face and end his life.

He entered the body of a young man who got betrayed by his own girlfriend, used as a blood bank by his biological parents, and crippled by their adopted son, without care for his life.

Worst part—he had probably missed the awakening ceremony to become a martial artist.

That was probably the reason why the original owner died.

Since the day he became crippled and fell into this dark place, he had been counting the days passing by with the help of the nurse who usually comes to check on them every day.

Whenever she comes and goes, he counts a day, till he realized he had passed the awakening ceremony and went into a brainstorm of anger and resentment, then he lost his life.

That was how Dave occupied his body and became Xú Míng.

Walking around the dark space… though he couldn't tell if he was walking or not,

he immediately remembered something.

"System!!!!" he called out.

Nothing appeared...

"System?...

"System!!?..."

No matter how he called, nothing appeared—or at least no robotic voice was heard.

"Damn it…" he cursed.

"Statue window!!!?" he called out helplessly.

But something amazing happened.

Z…z…
